Just in time
to take my winter wreath
off the door
I found this one
at Goodwill for $6.
Isn't it pretty!
It's so cheerful,
I smile every time
I look at it😊
I've also been teaching
a friend how to make
A "quilt as you go" quilt.
She has a 9-year-old
Grandson having
a birthday in a
couple of months.
She says he loves fishing
and doing anything
outdoors with his Dad.
I'm sure he'll love
the quilt his
Grandma's making him.

Well that's it,
for this post.
I hope you're having
a good week.
You're blogging sister,
Connie :)
I do love the wreath! It reminds me of George Washington's cherry tree, just in time for February! Very cheerful. And Yes, I love the quilt pictures and I am certain that young man will love it and treasure that quilt! What a wonderful gift! Thank you for helping to make it happen!! God bless you dear friend!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, I really love helping others discover the joy of quilting ☺️
DeleteVery nice that you are sharing your sewing talent with someone who is interested. I am certain her grandson will cherish his quilt! Lovely Goodwill find!
ReplyDeleteThanks. I hadn't been thrifting in a very long time, so I was excited about my find. The quilt as you go method of quilting is so easy if all you have is a regular sewing machine. I really enjoy introducing people to that method.
DeleteAs soon as I saw that wreath, I thought - cheery! And then you said the same thing. Great find.
ReplyDeleteThe quilt will be a treasure for her grandson!
Thanks for stopping by Mari. I was excited when I saw the wreath at the Goodwill. I like hanging something on my back door. The way our driveway is set up everyone enters our house by the back door. So it's nice to have a cheery entrance.
DeleteOh, I think my friend's grandson is going to love his quilt too :)
The wreath is perfect for your happy cottage. It is Valentine color too so definitely works for February! :-) That quilt is the perfect gift for a young boy. I wish I would have known you better when we lived in Spokane. I tried to make a quilt as you go and failed miserably. I ended up donated the squares I had finished to the thrift store hoping someone would take pity on them and finish it! You could have taught me! Thank you for your sweet comment on my blog. I wish I could do more, but my hands only work so fast. Isn't God amazing though? He made everything work out perfectly.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a lovely Thursday my dear Connie.
Blessings and love,
Betsy
I would have loved showing and helping you make your "quilt as you go". It would have been fun and a true pleasure.
DeleteI am having a lovely Thursday. It's my cleaning day, I have a Bible study here on Fridays so in is an encouragement for me to clean on Thursdays, LOL.
That wreath is pretty. Great price.
ReplyDeleteHow nice of you to teach your friend the quilt as you go process.
I love helping people get started quilting, many fall in love with it and surpass me :)
DeleteSuch a pretty wreath, it would cheer you up to look at it!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I love how cheerful it is . . . how can anyone walk through that door without a smile on their face, right :)
DeleteHow nice to help a friend with quilting, it's going to be a much loved quilt I'm sure, made by Grandma.
ReplyDeleteOh, I know that he will love it and think of his grandma when he's all cozy and wrapped in it's warmth.
DeleteThe red wreath on your turquoise door is so cheerful and bright! Good find.
ReplyDeleteQuilting is a wonderful skill to pass along.
Love your wreath, the red looks so good on your door.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping to learn to make some quilt squares with my new sewing machine.
If only you lived closer we could get together and quilt :)
DeleteAlways fun to find something at such a great price. How neat to help her make this for her grandson, I am sure he will love it!
ReplyDeleteI need to stay out of thrift stores, because I really don't need to be bringing stuff home, but I couldn't resist that pretty red wreath. I'm glad you like it.
DeleteMy SIL has a wreath very similar to yours and I always admire it whenever I visit her. Knowing her frugal ways I feel certain hers also came from a thrift store.
ReplyDeleteI'm certainly frugal, but it's a trait that has served me well :)
DeleteI love the wreath.

Me too, he-he
DeleteI'm glad that I decided to go thrifting that day.
I have enjoyed your blog for a long time. You really have so much creativity.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much.
DeleteYou're right, the wreath is so cheerful! I love it! I haven't had much luck in Goodwill lately. Well, except for finding a pair of jeans that fit perfect and look new, which is hard to do. :)
ReplyDeleteI'd say finding a great pair of jeans is a good find. Thanks for stopping by:)
