Thank You Daddy
See that man holding that little
girl in his arms . . .
That's me and my Dad.
I loved that man,
he passed away when I was 15 years old
but before he passed he made sure
that his children knew Jesus.
He taught us to pray and he
told me that Easter was the
most important holiday
to celebrate.
I didn't truly understand just
what he was saying at the time.
I just knew from what he said that
I needed to remember this . . .
For a child Christmas was always
the big look forward to holiday,
but if Daddy said Easter,
then I would believe it.
After all Daddy wouldn't say
it if it wasn't so.
It took me many years to know the
importance of Daddy's words . . .
It took me until I was mature enough
to look at myself and see that I was
a sinner and my biggest sin was prime.
I believed that I was a good girl,
a good woman and that my goodness
would get me to heaven one day.
Talk about being prideful!
Thoughts like that make it impossible
to see the value of what Christ
did for us when He hung on that cross.
If I could work my way to heaven,
then His death was in vain.
Today when I think about that
Friday and Him hanging on that cross
bleeding out His life for me
and for everyone on this earth
past and present . . .
my eyes fill with tears of
great appreciation.
I started this post with,
"Thank You Daddy"
but now I say . . .
"Thank You Father"
for sending your one and only Son
to die for me, that I might truly
have a way to enter heaven.
The only way is through
His precious blood.
He gave us the gift of salvation
that day.
It's a free gift that every man
and woman can claim as their own.
If you haven't already received this
gift, please think about it . . .
FREE GIFT OF SALVATION
claim it today . . .
Easy steps to take:
A. Admit that you are a sinner
and have made mistakes.
B. Believe that Jesus is God's Son,
died on the cross for you,
and rose up from the grave
on the third day.
C. Confess Jesus as Lord of your life.
And commit yourself to a life
of following Jesus and serving others.
It's pretty easy, but it has to come from
your heart . . . if you're not ready
then start thinking about it.
Like I said it's a matter of your heart.
It doesn't mean sitting in church
every Sunday. If sitting in church made
you a Christian, then sitting in your
garage would make you a car (right).
Remember ABC - Admit, Believe & Confess.
If you have been told that you
don't need to read the bible,
but to let others tell you
what it says . . . my advice is run
and get your hands on one.
Read it for yourself!
Your smart . . . why shouldn't
you read it, after all it is the
number one best seller of all time.
Well, that's my post . . .
I did not write it to offend anyone,
I believe that we all have the
freedom to choose . . .
I just pray that if you are not
a follower of Christ, that you will
give it some thought,
what have you got to lose?
His gift is FREE!
Happy Easter!
God bless you,
Your blogging sister,
Connie :)
