Relaxing Sunday

I love Sunday mornings . . .

 and truly like to get ready for

them the day before . . .

Getting clothes laid out.

Planing my meal . . .

 This time that met going

to the garden and picking greens

for a salad.

I have baby Romain lettuce

growing on the front porch

in a pot placed in a shady corner.

creating my salad mix I added basil

lemon balm

red lettuce & parsley

as well as chives.

 I plan on mixing this green mix

with grapefruit tomorrow

along with balsamic vinegar dressing

for a light lunch.

 Today I also cut some rhubarb  . . .

And put up Rhubarb Sauce for winter.

Sunday is a nice day to relax

and forget about chores.

Romans 12: 9-14

I great day to gather with friends

and praise the Lord together.

Maybe even get in an afternoon nap :)

I hope you all have a lovely Sunday,

whether you spend it at church,

gathering with family,

camping . . .

whatever you're doing . . .

May God bless your day :)

Thank you for stopping by.

Front Porch Makeover

 I promised photos

of my front porch makeover.

 I went from reds to blues and greens

and did it on a budget . . .

I bought this little basket

of silk flowers to hang

on the front door,

but first I painted the door

a soft aqua blue.

I spray painted the

old red glider,

aqua blue.

and our old milk can

table base as well :)

Then spray painted this

old terracotta and metal

plant stand, white.

I should have taken a before

photo of this,

it was ready for the junkyard.

It is amazing sometimes

what a little spray paint can do :)

The outdoor rugs

I purchased at Walmart.

I still have a couple of things

to do, but this is

basically, my transformation.

All I need is a warm day,

a pitcher of lemonade

and a friend to share it with.

Come join me :)

~~~~~*****~~~~~
I want to thank all of you
that prayed for me,
my surgery went very well.
I did have a little scare,
and another problem arise,
(may share about it later)
but all in all the surgery was
successful.
I will be having it done on my
right eye next Thursday.
Please pray for me again.
I truly appreciate it.
~~~~~*****~~~~~

Thank you for visiting . . .

come again,

my welcome-mat is always out.

Senior Moment & Porch Makeover

The first thing I want to do is apologize

for a mistake I made two posts ago.

I had the month and day of my first post

 correct, but I had the year wrong.

I started my blog on January 6th

my mother's birthday.

But the year was 2012 and not 2006

(2006 was the year she passed,

one day before her 100th birthday).

We'll call it a senior moment

I got my years mixed up.

So, I've actually only

been blogging for 9 years.

I've been working on a

front porch makeover.

So, first I'm going to show you

some of the changes to our

front porch since we purchased

our country home in  April 3, 2014

This is how it looked when we bought it.

After painting, but before railing.

After we built the railing.

Our porch is a place to sit

and watch the world go by.

We loved sitting together there in the

morning and evening and when

the farmer across the road bailed his hay.

It's not the same now . . .

but life goes on, and the Good Lord

has a plan for us that are here.

We loved our little porch,

and I still do.

~~~~~***~~~~~
In my next post I'll show you my
Spring 2021 Front Porch Makeover.
(hint: blues and greens)
Have a lovely day . . .
Wednesday morning I'll be having
cataract surgery.
Please send a little prayer my way.
Thank you so much.
