A New Place To Make Music

I had this old box sitting around, not being used for anything.
So, I planned on adding it to my next yard sale.
Then I had an idea :)

This is the inside.

This is a chair that I use out on the back porch,
 in the summer to play my guitar.
It has shorter legs than most chairs and is much easier on my back, 
when playing my guitar :)

Now, for my re-do!!!

Here is the first coat of paint.
Next I applied crackle medium, and painted it white.

Here it is finished :)

 
You can see the pink, yellow, green, and blue through the cracks.

Here is the box painted.
I first painted it white, 
then after it was dry and finished, 
I sanded it so the white and the wood would  show through.
I wanted it to look a little worn. 

Here you can see the inside.

I added a little shelf, which slants to the back.
The purpose is to create a music stand.
My music book can sit on this shelf,
while the box becomes a great place to store other music books.

This works so well, that when fall comes 
and I start playing inside again . . .
this will be moving into the house.

It is perfect . . .
I am so glad that I rescued it from my yard sale stuff :)

It is so nice when you can take something that you were going to get rid of . . .
and make it new and useful again.

Decorating for Easter & Spring

I've been busy today . . . seeing just what I could do
 to lighten up the the living-room and entry . . . 
to say Spring, and not Winter :)

A little flat white spray paint and . . .
Voila!  Shabby Chic & looking like Spring :)

Be My Valentine

I have been having fun with the Valentine's Day theme. 
I save all of those sticks that come with scented oil.  
Here I used one to make the bow  and one to make the arrow. 
They smell good, too:)

Saturday's Pot Luck Jam

We just got back from a wonderful afternoon,
enjoying good friends and good food.

These are some of my fellow musicians.
When we get together . . . it is always a good time.

Sheet Music Christmas Wreath

 
 Everyone is making these sheet music wreaths
  &
I think that they are beautiful.
So, I decided to give it a try.
This is how mine turned out . . . 
I think I like it:) 

 
 Here it is in the evening with the candles lit
(battery, but no worry of fires).
Oops  . . . one candle isn't on. 

 I started with a cardboard box. 

 Hot glued a ribbon for hanging.
Then I attached this snowman pin, 
but later replaced it with a snowflake ornament.

 
 I made copies from the first page of 
Hark The Herald Angles Sing.

 Next I rolled them into cones and stapled them.

 
 Then I got out my hot glue gun and went to work.  
First I centered one on each side of the ribbon, 
then one at 3 o'clock  6 o'clock and 9 o'clock.  
Then it was easy to start filling in the rest. 

 After my cones were all glued on, 
I added berries and froufrou from the Dollar Store. 

 Here is a close-up before adding the snowflake.

 Here it is finished.
The other walls in my living-room are sage green, 
that is why I choose a green and white color scheme. 

I have a couple more Christmas crafts that I want to get made.
I will be posting them in the next couple weeks,
but this one was fun and something that I have been wanting to try.
I had a lot of fun . . .and I want to say thank you 
to whoever it was that invented the hot glue gun.
"To own one is to love one" :)
