Hello, My Name Is Connie

 Hello!

My name is Connie

and

I'm a "Paint-aholic."

 There are a few things

in this world

that I cannot be trusted with

or I overindulge.

 One of them is cheesecake

and another is paint.

Some of you may remember that

I painted my back door this year.

  Well, I had leftover paint

and I've been trying to think

of what I could use it for.

So even though I redid my bedroom

about a year and a half ago . . .

There I was yesterday evening

at 8:00 PM

repainting the bed.

Like I had nothing else

to do, right?

Butchy's dog tags . . .

he is missed :(

Here's a little tour

of the rest of the room.

I like to think of it

as my little English cottage

bedroom.

Here's another bedspread . . .

the first was a quilt that I made,

but this old chenille bedspread

was covering an old saddle in a garage

where a yard sale was going on.

I asked about it

and was told it wasn't for sale,

it was just keeping her saddle from getting dusty.

So, I made a offer . . .

and she found something else to

cover her saddle :)

That was probably 15 years ago :)

I think this new look

is much more cheery

than the black bed.

It'll be nice to wake up to

and in the winter when the skies

are gray my bedroom will be

a bright and happy room.

Well, you can't trust an alcoholic

with a leftover half bottle of booze

and you can't trust Connie

with a leftover half quart of paint.

That's just who I am.

Put God First

&

 have a lovely day.

New Blogging Sister & Spring Painting

See this beautiful wreath
and banner . . .
they are made by a "new to me"
blogging sister.
💓 💙 💜 💙 💓
More about her and her amazing
budget minded projects later in this post.

Many of you know that I painted before
my hand injury . . .
because of that I have many unused canvases
up in the loft of my Art Barn.

The other day when I was stenciling the wall
in the Barn, I decided to pull one down
and paint something for my Spring mantel.

I can still paint, but I do not have the control
that I used to have and so my paintings
and very amateur . . . but I make do :)
Here before I put the stencil away
I used it on the canvas.

And started painting a large
spring bloom.

Here it is ready for the mantel.
Is it too early to decorate for spring?

Now I want to introduce you to Lisa.
This is how she describes herself on her profile.

Her blog is called
Fresh Vintage by Lisa S

I will add a link . . .
but first I want to show you some of her
budget friendly projects.
Many made from Dollar Store finds.

This wreath is from dollar store paper doilies.
I think it is beautiful :)
The banner is from dollar store gift bags.

Gingham painted canning jars.

Book page banner and wreath.

Dollar store finds put together
to make this wonderful Christmas ornament.

I love this one . . .stenciling
flannel shirts.

I know I have you wanting to get off my blog
and visit hers.
I promise you won't be disappointed.

Here's the link:

Stenciling The Barn

I was out in the Barn today
and just had an itch to do something
and this is what I ended up doing.

A year ago I decided to paint my white
walls and add some color to the
interior of the barn.
I painted this wall turquoise adding
white here and there in a cloudy
whimsy look.
Today I stenciled over it.

Not measuring and being exact . . .
I don't care for exact, especially in my barn.

So here are a few photos of the wall . . .
tell me what you think.
I love the new Boho look of color
and freedom, so that is what I was going for :)

As you can see the wall next to it
is lavender . . . I haven't decided
whether to do the same to it,
but I think maybe yes.

I'll think about it for a while.

I love the freedom that I have in the Barn,
and I'm braver out there than in the house.

After all it's my creative space :)

That's it for this post.

Thank you so much for visiting
and please leave a comment.

You won't hurt my feelings . . .
not everyone has the same taste
and wouldn't it be boring if we did?

My Happy Yellow Kitchen

My bright and sunny yellow kitchen.
Isn't it amazing what a half gallon of paint
and 5 yards of fabric can do :)

This was it before . . .
I liked it, but was ready for a change,
something lighter :)

Before

After

I made this sign, but I wasn't happy
with it.  So after hanging it
I decided to add a boarder.
All taped off and ready to paint.

I used my left over fabric
to make the toaster cover.
I think that rick rack and vintage
fabric go together like,
biscuits & gravy, LOL

I also painted this sign . . .
this photo is before the new blue curtains.

I'm loving the bright new look.

See the lovely embroidered dish towels,
my sweet neighbor made those for me :)

Well, that's it!

I hope you enjoyed the tour.

Next winter when the snow flies . . .
I'll still be having sunny days
in my happy kitchen :)
