Enjoying September

Around here we have been enjoying
our beautiful September weather.

Sitting on the porch . . .

watching the last cutting
of hay being bailed  . . .

and hauled away.

                                   The Autumn Joy . . .

is showing off by turning this
lovely shade of pink.

While the Black Eyed Susan's . . .

The Hollyhocks . . .

and the Sunflowers are going to seed.

The roses are bursting in bloom,
before Jack Frost visits
and steals away their beauty.

And so is the Honeysuckle.

Butchy is enjoying rolling in the
grass before the snows of winter arrive.

He is so short and low to the ground,
that the winter snow freezes his
sweet little belly :)

I guess you could say that
we love September around here
and we are taking in all the sights,
smells and loveliness
of the season.

I hope that you have been enjoying
it as well. . .
then again it could be Spring
where you live.

It's a beautiful world!
I hope that you can all steal away
a little time to enjoy it this weekend.

Keep Smiling!

Newport Oregon Trip

Hello Blogging Sisters!
I've been away for a week,
taking this lovely instrument to our granddaughters.
It was given to me by a lady in our church.
She wanted it to go to a good home
and some young person taking lessons.
Our oldest granddaughter (12 years) has been taking
lessons since September and loves it.

We all met up at Newport, Oregon.
The weather was rainy and foggy,
but we always have fun together.

That's their dog Astro at the bottom
of the photo.

As many of you know I don't post photos
of our daughter and her family on my blog,
but I have some lovely photos of my trip.

This is an old lighthouse . . .
boarded up and not used anymore.

A park just below the lighthouse.

We walked down around the bay area
and ate dinner at the famous Mo's.

While at the bay I saw seals out on the rocks,

Colorful buoys hanging everywhere . . .

and picked up a boyfriend, LOL.
I like the strong rugged type :)

Over by the ocean we saw this cute group
of cottages.
Notice the big anchor.

This was the gate into the cottages.

On the drive back to our daughter's home,
we stopped at this covered bridge.

The next few photos were taken around the bridge area.
That is not grass but about 4 different types of moss,
with tiny flowers that look like mini daises.
It was enchanting.

I hope you enjoyed tagging along
with me.

I am now back home and ready to
get back to my normal lovely life.

It was wonderful spending time with our girls
and just getting away for a fun trip.

Oh, and I met some interesting people
on the plane.
A lady that teaches blind children
and a man that just sold his business.
A bread bakery in New Jersey
and was retiring and starting
a new life adventure out west.

It was a fun trip.

Exciting Old Photo Of Our Home

Many of your have seen this photo before.
This was taken on the day we
closed on buying our little home.
We were so excited!
April 2014

This is how the front looked
when we bought it.

This was after building the porch railing
and planting flowers.

This was taken last 4th of July.

Okay . . . I'm boring you,
but look at this . . .

This is what I'm so excited about!

I received this in the mail.
I have been doing research on our home,
but until now it has all been documents.
This is the first time
that I've received an actual photo.
Here it is in 1973 all jacked up
and ready to be moved to the spot
it sits on today.

  • it was built in 1905.
  • it was the parsonage to the old United Church in Odessa, WA.
  • in 1973 it was moved 45 miles to where it sits today.

It is so exciting finding this photo
and finding out about the history
of our little home.

Well, that's my post.
I just wanted to share this with you.

Keep Smiling!

Baby It's Cold Outside

Sunday Afternoon.
I didn't want to go anywhere,
but I needed a little fresh air.

So I grabbed my camera
and walked around the yard.

 Come walk with me.

Oops the tarp came off the boat.

Anyone want to swing?

Here's one of the wood piles.

We could build a fire and roast marshmallows :)

I love the look of birdhouses piled with snow.

They are just waiting for spring renters to fly in:)

The garden is sleeping :)
When I spied the steer head
with snow on his horns . . .
I thought I should have hung a wreath
from one of them.
Maybe next year.

This is our backdoor by the driveway gate.
The front, from the neighbors fence.
I saw this hanging by their back door;
I'm happy they liked it :)

Last but by no means least . . .
by beloved Art Barn :)

Garden boots still hanging on the fence.
Having the flu set me back and there
are a lot of things that didn't get
put away for winter.

It's okay . . . the pipes got wrapped
and all the important things are done.

If you are still here . . .
Thanks for hanging in there and walking with me.

Happy Holidays!
&
Keep Smiling!
