Happy Mother's Day

This is a photograph of my mother, Rosa & me,
taken in White Sands, New Mexico.
1946

This is Steve & his mother Lola,
can't you just feel her love for him,
just look at her sweet smile.

I found this lovely poem on the internet,
and I want to dedicate it to both of our Mother's.

Roses For Mama

Lord, are there roses in your garden
On the shores of jubilee
Would you pick a dozen of your best
And deliver them for me?
For you see, today is mothers’ day
And I can’t visit my mom
For it wasn’t very long ago
The angels came and took her home.
So if there are roses in your garden
On the shores of Jubilee
Would you pick a dozen of your best
And deliver them for me?
Would you take them to my mother
And tell her that I love her.
Tell her that I miss her
In oh! So many ways
But I have joy in knowing
We’ll meet again someday
And we’ll pick roses together
On the shores of Jubilee.

Last but not least, here I am holding my darling daughter, Autumn Rose.
She was a sweetie pie then, and she still is today.

She's not only a wonderful daughter, but an amazing mother, herself.

Happy Mother's Day:)

  6. Love the photos. It reminds me I forgot to send my mother a card. I have already given her a chair - she really does not like a lot of to-do just on Mother's Day. Enjoy yours!

    1. Hi Val, thank you for your sweet Mother's Day wish. Steve and I are starting to paint the boat this weekend. So it has been busy last night and this morning. The sun got too hot for painting, so we are kicking back and relaxing. Maybe this evening we'll do a little more, and maybe not, LOL
      Have a lovely weekend.

    1. Happy Mother's Day Beth! My mother has been gone seven years now. She is missed, she was a spunky gal, but had to be, to be married to my dad. She is the reason I named our new boat Gypsy Rose. My dad was an adventurer and mom was raised in a family that didn't travel more than 100 miles from home. After marring dad she visited almost every state at one point or another. Therefore; her family referred to her as the gypsy in the family. Her name was Rosa, but everyone called her Rose.
Here is wishing you a wonderful Mother's Day, have fun at red Lobster. Connie:)

    1. Hi Tracy, I'm sorry that you don't have any photos of you as a baby. That is the same with my oldest brothers and sister. Our folks had a fire and lost everything when they were little. The only baby photos are of me and my brother who is six year older than me. Thank you for your sweet comment and yes these are treasures :)
