Happy 4th of July

 Happy 4th of July,
or
Happy Birthday,
 United State of America

( 237 years old today )

I love this old vintage poster,
I found it on Free Digital Vintage Stamps,
if you have never visited this blog,
here is a link:

This is one of my favorite holidays.
I associate it not just with freedom,
but with picnics, fireworks, family and friends.
It's a time when all of the residents of our wonderful nation come together to remember the price of freedom and the shared love we have for America The Beautiful:)

If you're a citizen of the USA be sure and wave your flag proudly,
and remember those who are defending our country in your prayers,
they are the reason for our freedom.

  1. Hi Connie,

Happy Independence Day to you! The town where I grew up always had wonderful activities going on for July 4. A parade in the center of town, airplanes doing stunts at the small local airport, the usual booths of food and the fireworks. Such fun memories of childhood.

    Hugs,
    Kay

    1. Hi Kay, oh I remember it well :) We had old fashion egg tosses, climbing the greased pole, which my brother did one year in his brand new white pants . . . needless to say, Mom was not happy, LOL.

  12. Evening Connie, I hope you have a wonderful July 4...Independence Day!!! I would LOVE to see All Americans really celebrate our freedom, our country. I'm afraid the younger generations are not being shown the importance and history of how this country became so great. We must pass this on!!! Blessings to you, my sweet friend~~~Roxie

    1. I totally agree . . . we all love our parades and picnics, but we need to have a true appreciation for why we are celebrating and for the men and women that put their lives on the line, so that we can have this freedom, that we love.
