Craig's List Changed My Life

Last week I saw this on Craig's List . . .
I've been looking for a small trailer for the last three years,
but when I saw this sweet little motor-home  . . . my heart skipped a beat :)
I still can not believe it's mine.

As a child we did a lot of traveling.
My father was a contractor and we traveled many times for his work,
but never for the pure joy of having fun or camping.

It was an amazing price and everything on it works perfectly except the awning, so that's on our spring to do list.
Can you believe it is a 1987.
Well, I spent three days making it our own,
and stocking it  . . .
then we took off on our first camping adventure.
These photos are where we set up camp.

The camp ground is called Silverline
and they are about 5 miles north of Winthrop, WA.
http://silverlineresort.com/
Isn't it beautiful.
We were hoping for fall color and saw some,
but in a week or two . . .can you just imagine:)

These photos were the first day when we got there.

These photos are what we saw the next morning when we woke.

This is the view outside our kitchen window.
"Table with a view, please" :)

This is our camp site.

The next few photos were a walk around the campgrounds later that morning.

See the snow capped mountains in the distance.

I fell in love with this tree.

Our campsite had a lake on one side
and a little creek on the other.

Butchy loved camping.
We took so many walks . . .he was loving it:)
His hair is growing back very nicely,
but the scarred area is coming in brown and a little wirey.

We had a campfire the whole time.
The air was crisp and the campfire felt so good at night.
Can you believe I forgot to bring marshmallows,
but I did bake an apple pie in my little motor-home oven,
and the freezer kept our ice cream good and hard :)

These folks moved in next door on our last night.
Their little trailer was so cute that I had to get a photo to show you.
It had a bed and a complete kitchen inside.
I should have asked to take a photo of the inside to show you.
This couple was from Canada and the couple that came in on the other side of us were from Holland.
They rented a motor-home and were touring the country.

Here we are driving out of the mountains,

and heading back to our beloved dessert.

My next post will be photos of the cowboy town of Winthrop, WA.
You are going to fall in love with this unique western town.

We are hooked on camping:)

I hope that I did not bore you
and that you had an enjoyable time tagging along.

Thanks so much for visiting.
Are you a camper?

Your blogging sister, Connie :)

  3. I haven't camped in years, Connie. The last time was as a teen with a group of friends { a long, long time ago!} I love your little camper. It looks like it is in great condition, too. You picked out a lovely spot to set up camp. What a great view and who wouldn't love to wake up to that in the morning. I'm sure your apple pie was better than marshmallows!

    1. Hi Kathy, We are pretty new to camping, too. Steve did some as a kid with his parents, and we slept out in sleeping bags and once in a tent, back when we were first married, but that's it. This is a new adventure for us and we are loving every minute of it :) The pie was great.

  4. Wow, now you will never be home!!!! It is really cool! When you showed the table with the view, I thought for a moment that you had stopped at a diner! I love the cloud on the mountains and the mist on the water. Now on to other sights and adventures, hoping you continue to share them all with us!

    1. Hi Brandi, I think that it would be a wonderful way to see the country. The gas mileage isn't very good, but you have your own bed each night and you are not living out of suitcases. Also you save a lot by being able to cook your own meals . . . all these benefits save on the expenses and make up for the gas cost. After watching some of those TV shows like Hotel Impossible, you ready appreciate the cleanliness of your own little home on wheels :)

I had been looking for one for the last three years, well, I really had a trailer in mind, until seeing this little beauty. She is an 1987 that has been loved and cared for. She only has 60,000 miles and everything works on her except the awning. When I saw that they only wanted $6,000. We had to go take a look., and we fell in love. There are bargains out there, you just have to look. This will give us years to find out if we enjoy it enough to up-grade when Steve retires, but really we like the size, even I feel comfortable driving it. :) Good luck with your husband . . . I'll just bet he would love it.

That's the way it goes when you clean out a closet . . . you have to spread everything out and go through it before you know what to keep and what to toss. And so goes the "Days of Our Lives"' LOL.

  54. Connie, I love your pictures. We used to camp when we were little. I have such fond memories of it. I love the smell of a campfire and the fresh air. I hope some day my husband and me can get a little motor home and travel.

    1. Hi Maggie, it is a great size, because it is not a bit intimidating for me to drive, and there might be times when I want to take off with a girl friend, or meet my daughter and granddaughters for a few days of girl camping :)

  57. I'm so excited for you,Connie! Camping in an rv will open up a whole new world or adventures for you! Hubby and I have been rv-ers for the last 6 years or so, and just love our motor home! We've traveled from coast to coast, to Canada, out east, the southern states, and lots more in our rv. You will meet many nice people on the road. Your pup looks like he loves it, too! Enjoy your new home on wheels:)
