Scrap Pile Cozy

It is done!

I counted and I used 49 different fabrics

~~~*****~~~
Ladies, this is what your scrap pile can look like :)
~~~*****~~~

Well, they say that a picture is worth a thousand words,
so this post is mostly pictures.
I hope you like my finished quilt.
It is 48 inches square and a great size to cuddle on the sofa.

So, while you're enjoying the photos,
I think I'll go cuddle up with a good book :)

Enjoy your week and if you have the time please leave a comment.
I read them all and enjoy them so much.

Keep smiling :)

Your blogging sister,

Connie :)

    1. Hi Susie . . . it is so nice to see you and thank you . . . can you believe I counted 49 different fabrics, all scraps, so it was a free quilt. I even have the batting and the back fabric left over from another older project.

    1. Hi Betty I am amazed lately by the same thing . . . I use to throw away my small scraps, too. What were they good for? Now that I am making hexies and doing applique, I find that the small scraps are little gems just waiting to be repurposed :)
      Thanks so much for stopping in to visit . . . I love having company :)

  5. Gosh Connie....if I lived closer to you, I am thinking I would want you to make me a quilt just like that one...so sweet with the hexies and it feels so springy too. You are getting very good at your craft. Well, I am in the midst of organizing my basement and making cards. Up stairs, spare time is crocheting dish cloths and looking forward to seeing the snow melt and seeing my flowers grow and hear my water fountain trickleing....I am so into spring right now. Spring fever has hit!!!

  13. The scrappy beauty is super cute, you just can't beat a scrap quilt in my estimation. Hexagons are not my thing - too much hand work for me but I do like the look of them and wouldn't mind it if someone would gift me with a bunch to use ;) .

  15. Your quilt is truly beautiful. I love the idea of a scrap pile but I have a little while to go before my office/personal space is done. So at the moment I don't have the room xxx

    1. Dear Fran, you have got to be the most patient and caring person in blog-land. I know that things go slowing on a boat, and the size of yours is a major project. When it is done, you are going to have the most wonderful of living spaces ever :) We built a wooden box to go against the hull and sit on top of our dining table, this was in your sailboat before Gypsy Rose. Well, we measured and went home a Steve built this beautiful wooden box with compartments for silverware, salt and pepper, napkins, etc. Then we went back to the boat to install it. What a joke! Because of the curves in the hull, horizontal and vertical, what looked straight was very far from it. I think it took us five trips back and forth from boat to home (40 miles away) until it final fit perfectly against the hull. Building shelves, counters and anything for that matter on a boat is far more work than a home with straight square walls. Pete is doing such a fine job on your barge, we love seeing your photos :) Oh, I am delighted that you like my quilt . . . it's so cheerful that it is brightening up our loomy gray days and making me think more and more of Spring.
      Have a marvelous day. Love, Connie :)

    1. Hi Carol, no this is not my first, but I have only been quilting since around September or October. I can not believe how fast I've falling in love with quilting. It is a very relaxing craft:) I'm the one who is proud of you . . . you have taken on a huge project and one that will bring joy to thousands of people. Have you thought of it that way? . . . It's like you're giving a huge party for all of Orlando and it's tourists that weekend. I wonder how many families get to go to Disney World that weekend, because Mom wants to go to the Polka Dot Flea :)
