My Luck Of The Irish, St. Patrick's Day!

 I have a St. Patrick's Day story to tell . . .
Now I do have a wee bit of Irish blood flowing through my veins and today it paid off.
In what can only be described as,
"The Luck Of The Irish".

Butchy had a veterinarian appointment for his yearly shots,
and his once every three years rabies vaccine.

Coming home from town, I decided to stop off at the Goodwill.
Now, I have been looking for a round pedestal table
and chairs for a very long time.
Not only that but three days ago
I posted a "wanted to buy" ad on Craig's list.

Well, I walked in and looked at their furniture and of course there was nothing.
Then a young man came out from the back with a dresser.
So, I took a chance and told him what I was looking for.
He said well, one just came in, follow me to the backroom and see what you think.

Well, it was the exact style that I was dreaming of finding.
And because of the "glow in the dark green"color
(looks better in these photos than real life)
I got it for $35.
It has a missing dowel on the side of one chair.
That's an easy fix for Steve.
And there are scuffs and crayons drawings , that's easy for me.
I have had lots of practice scrubbing and sanding :)

I'm in heaven, but that's not the end of my story.

Here's a shot of the crayon art :)

I also got this $3.99 . . . remember my flag pillow for the front porch :)

This was also $3.99 . . . I never turn down a small shelf.

Then I spied this grab bag for $1.99

When I opened it all of this was inside.

Well, what do you think ?
Not bad, Right?
But, that's still not the end of my story.

It was senior day and I got an $8.99 discount for being vintage :)

This is a St. Patty's Day to remember.
Am I smiling?
Yep, a smile that spreads from ear to ear :)

Have a great day and please leave a comment.

I love reading them.

Your blogging sister,
Connie :)

    1. Good Morning Lorrie, I felt very blessed . . . it was just what I needed and the perfect style. I could not have found anything this perfect, even buying new. I know that because I have been to every furniture shop in our small town (five total). I've already started the re-do and will post photos when it is finished :) Have a wonderful weekend.

  12. Love that table!
I've been thinking a round table with pedestal legs would come in handy in our already crowded kitchen. But haven't been able to talk the Honey into that one...
You know I love green...not wild about glowing, but bright lime green, is a favorite of mine. :)
I would have definitely bought the doilies... for sure!
    great haul!

    1. Hello Pat, I have been wanting a round table for some time now. I like the fact that everyone at the table is facing one another . . . makes for sweeter conversation. Not only that but I have about a dozen round table cloths from my working days when I put on Mother's Day Teas. The dining room that I used each year had round tables, so I started sewing. I had the foresight to make each table cloth different, so now I have them and haven't used any of them for the past four years. This will be fun :)

    1. Hi Carol, Steve and I had a talk the other night and we decided that we are going to stop using the word "old". Seems like the more we say it, the more we believe it. That doesn't mean that I won't be asking for my senior discounts though, LOL.
