Some of you call this a bunting
&
Some of you call it a banner.
I just hope you call it pretty,
because that's what I call it.
I am delighted with how it turned out.
I had these felt flowers that I made a couple of years ago
when I was making bib necklaces.
So I added some of them to my project.
I also dug into my button jars
and added some of them.
I had a busy day, but feel so good about all that I accomplished today.
I had a lot of yard work, plus laundry and cleaning,
but by 2:00
I was happily sitting at my sewing machine:)
I also had time to paint this large
candlestick.
candlestick.
I think it makes a great hat stand.
You may have noticed
that I kept the top edge of my banner raw & frayed.
I thought about finishing it, and then I thought
that I needed a little "shabby" in my "chic", LOL

Well, tell me what you think of my banner.
I was afraid that it might be a little bit too much,
but when I got it hung,
I loved it :)
I hope that you all had a wonderful day.
Keep Smiling!
Your blogging sister,
Connie :)
So pretty and looks great hanging over your windows!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Mary :)
DeleteThey say if you love it...that's all that counts. I really like your banner with the extras I call it. Your windows feel homey to me, comfortable. You sure are creative.
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy, what a sweet thing to say, and thank you :)
DeleteHi Connie, I think your banner looks adorable!! So cheerful and I love it hanging over your windows! You MUST be one fast worker.........Girl, it would take me days to do what you do!! I want your energy!!! The candlestick is a PERFECT hat stand....that is what I would use it for! Hope you are getting some good stuff out of your garden.....We are having a beautiful, not to hot summer here in Ohio! Blessings, from one sweetie to another~~~Roxie
ReplyDeleteHI Roxie, I am happy that you like my banner, it was a lot of fun to make. Just this afternoon we picked our first tomatoes. Nothing is quite so tasty as fresh tomatoes from the garden :)
DeleteHello Connie, This is my first visit to your blog. I love the colors of your new banner. It's so cheerfully whimsical yet restful as well, like little flags flapping on an ocean breeze. I will be back again to see what else you are doing.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for visiting. There is nothing that I like better than to make a new friend. I wish that I could have had a pot of tea and cookies to offer you and that we could have sat on the front porch and had a proper visit :) Do come again :)
DeleteAbsolutely gorgeous I just love the colours :-)
ReplyDeleteThank you . . . I really do appreciate reading your comments. They are encouraging and so supportive :)
DeleteI did notice the unfinished edges and I personally love the look of the shabby in your chic :) Love the color choice, blue has always been a favorite of mine. Your candle stick hat stand was a very clever idea also
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Ann, It is great to take a little break in the morning, cup in hand and blogging in front of me. I love that you love my unfinished edge, it was something that I debated about. Finish or not finish . . . that was the question. I even though that the banner might make the room way too busy, but then I remembered what I like about other people's spaces and it's the layers upon layers. In a world of shabby chic . . . it's a good thing :)
DeleteIt is beautiful, that is what it is! Love your button jars, quite the stash of buttons.
ReplyDeleteHi Sue, that one little jar that is long and thin, was in a trunk that belonged to my husband's grandmother. I have never used any of them . . . I may someday, but I like to keep them just the way she had them. In some small way, it keeps me connected to his family's past and the brave prairie woman from Oklahoma.
Deletelove your new banner, connie! i might have to add one to my room-too cute! your hat stand, curtains and felt roses add a sweet cottage style to your room:)
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Lynn, I am delighted that I could inspire you to make a banner. I'll be looking forward to seeing what you do. I love doing projects where I can make everything in the project different, that is how this was. It's the repetition of sameness that drives me a bit crazy and steals away the fun :)
DeleteYour space for creating is gorgeous...love the addition of the bunting/banner!
ReplyDeleteHello Lesley, thank you for stopping by . . . I love reading my comments, they not only encourage me, but they help me get to know you better, too. I am delighted that you like my space and my banner . . . thank you again :)
Deletewow Connie, I just love your curtains. You are so creative.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Becky, thank you so much . . . you are a sweet friend and I so enjoy your visits to my blog:)
DeleteHave a wonderful day!
Love your banner. Such a great way to use up some fabric scraps.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Brandi, Long time no see . . . I know that the road runs both ways. So, I'll be coming over to see what you have been up to. I love making projects from scraps, it's like getting free stuff, right:) When you can take the scraps leftover from other projects and create something fun, useful or pretty, it is so rewarding. Well, I have a lawn to mow, but before I go outside, I'm going to visit your blog. Have a wonderful day, and again it is great to see you :)
DeleteYour banner is GORGEOUS! I love it!!!! Your talent blows me away :))))
ReplyDeleteKelly . . .you my dear girl are a sweetie pie . . . Thank you:)
DeleteWow, it's looking great in the art barn!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much . . . I love it and feel very blessed :)
DeleteHi Connie(yes Iam still alive!) I love the whole concept of your room, the bunting is delightful,I just love the curtains and the candlestick just adds that extra touch.Just beautiful a great productive day.xx
ReplyDeleteHi Carole, it is great to see your pretty blue cottage pop up in my comments. I've missed you, now I'll be coming to visit your blog and see what you have been up too. Thank you for your sweet and encouraging words. I truly appreciate comments and exchanging ideas, adventures, and cooking and gardening tips. Life is good!
DeleteI like that you selected scenes from that blue-and-white fabric for your bunting - the horse grazing, the man in the boat fishing . . .
ReplyDeleteThank you . . . I am delighted that you noticed :)
DeleteLove the banner you made...it's so cute. Also love the candle stick that you turned into the hat stand.
ReplyDeleteHi Cynthia, I love turning candlesticks into hatstand . . . they work perfectly, and thank you for your sweet compliment, i do appreciate it :)
DeleteI think your bunting/banner is very pretty! It makes your barn look very festive! It sounds like you got a lot done in one day. I really like your blue candlestick hat stand too! Very pretty hat!
ReplyDeleteHi Rebecca, I think that hats are pure fun . . . I love wearing them and they sure can fix a bad hair day, LOL.
DeleteADORABLE! in a word.
ReplyDeleteI like all the nice little touches you've added.
So pretty.
Thank you so much!!!
DeleteI think it's gorgeous, and I am rather jealous of your skill with a sewing machine - I have tried, but failed miserably. I keep reading that bunting has had its day, but in the real world, I see no sign of that and I love it (actually, they tried and failed to do the same to pashminas - still popular with real people.
ReplyDeleteI love your button jar, and am about to start my own from my rather large collection of unused buttons. I found a very pretty little jar for sale in a sweet shop in Sweden and have brought it home with exactly that in mind. I now feel inspired to forego the ironing mountain and get busy with buttons!
Hello Marianne, it is wonderful to have you stop by and visit. Keep trying on the sewing machine, maybe you need to find a simple project to start out . . . this bunting would be a great first project. I just came from your blog and really enjoyed your photos of Sweden. I am also looking forward to seeing your pretty jar all filled with little buttons. They look like jewels when placed in a glass jar. Do come again, I love company :)
DeleteDarling,
ReplyDeleteJust the right touch too!
Hi there Kerin, thanks so much for stopping by . . . you're so sweet. Oh, love your "Owl Tree", very cool :)
