More Kitchen Tweaking

I have been on a "Kitchen Tweaking" mission the last week or so:)
I found these three containers at the Goodwill.
One was FTD, one was Martha Stewart, and the other was not marked . . .
I think that they have a vintage look about them and I love the colors.

I also made curtains for the door
and painted the lower cabinets the same color as the island.

I first painted the lower cabinets the same pale aqua as the walls,
but I think that I like the darker turquoise better.
I had paint left over from painting the island,
so it was a no-cost change:)
I purchased a range hood and a new kitchen faucet before we even got moved in,
but they are jobs that we can do this winter.

I also want to put bead-board up for the back-splash,
a new counter top and a larger sink.
These jobs can wait until January or February and the holidays are over.

By then we will be wanting to take on another project.
Something to ward off the cabin fever that always sets in during that time of the year:)

Still enjoying my Zinnias:)

Okay, the other evening we were watching TV when I jumped up and ran outside.

Steve's yelling, "what's wrong . . .where are you going".

When you see something this magnificent out your window . . .

you have just got to run and grab your camera, right?

Thank you so much for stopping by . . .
please leave a comment, I love reading them.

Have a wonderful weekend.
Your blogging sister,
Connie :)

    1. Good Morning Roxie, we have a lot of little projects in the house that we can tweak this winter, it's the ones relating to safety and energy loss that we had to tackle first . . . that and just making it livable (like the bathroom) that was a mess. Hard work or not, we know that we are in the place that we are supposed to be and we are loving it. I do hope that you and your hubby are feeling the same way about your cottage. Every day we think about how blessed we are to be living our small country dream. God is so Good! Oh, and doesn't He paint a fabulous sky:)

    1. Hi Cindy, I was so surprised when I saw that sky and I knew that it would only last a short while . . . Steve didn't know what was going on when I jumped up and ran out. He probably thought that I had left something on the stove, since I ran through the kitchen and out the backdoor, LOL. God paints a magnificent sky:) Thanks for stopping by and for taking the time to leave a comment . . . I love reading them and getting to know you better. Have a great weekend!

    1. Hi Ann, I know, I felt the same way about those containers . . . they had a vintage look when put together like that and the colors were perfect for my kitchen. Sometimes you go to the Goodwill and all you see is junk, then you go again and you find treasures. As for the sunset, I was very happy that my camera batteries were not dead. So many times I forget and leave it plugged into the computer after downloading and then my battery is in need of a recharge:)
I wouldn't have wanted to miss that beautiful sky:)

    1. Hi Patty, time and money have so much to do with waiting. We really had so many projects that were and are more important that the pretty and polished ones. Last week we ordered new windows . . . because the house is old the sizes required special orders, so we hope to have them in before cold weather hits us hard. They will be here in about three more weeks . . . winters coming . . . burrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr:) Thanks so much for stopping by and taking the time to comment. I've been away from blog reading for a bit, so I know I've missed some wonderful updates. I do love the darker turquoise on your bottom cabinets as well. In my kitchen I have two colors of cabinets. The peninsula island bottom and my lower cabinets are also the same color. Keep up the hard work. :-)

Gosh, we haven't crossed paths for a while but be assured I think of you every morning when hubby's and my coffee are on the beverage mats I won from you. Thanks for dropping by my blog for a visit.
I like the contrast of the darker turquoise of the island and bottom cupboards, a bold colour but it sure works in your kitchen. I've been spray painting accessories with this colour and love it!
