I'm In The Mood For Christmas

As you grow older

the simple pleasures of Christmas

mean so much.

Decorating the living room . . .

Baking cookies. . .

Listening to Christmas carols . . .

and enjoying friends and family.

Looking forward to cards and letters in the mail.

I thought that I would show you the pillow

that I made from the left over vinyl, when I made my mantel window.

I used the left over pieces to make a stencil

and painted this fabric.

It’s pretty primitive, but I like it :)

Decorating around the TV and all the dish network boxes
is never easy, but this is what i came up with this year.

I painted these little blocks that I cut from a 1X4.
Check out our tree.
It seemed so much taller in our old house.
Nine foot ceiling make a big difference :)

Well, I’m off to play and enjoy my day.

I hope that you have time today to do the same.

God bless you all.

Connie :)

  1. Oh everything looks wonderful.
I like all the word blocks... makes for an easy decorating... good job.
Your nativity looks pretty with all the candles. Is it old?
I've had mine about 23 years... it isn't exactly like yours... but similar. Well, aren't all nativities similar, with Jesus at the Heart!? ;)

    1. As ready as we get, LOL. We have put lights down the fence outside and over the trellis. I hung a wreath on the gate and now Steve is working on one of those white outside plywood nativities for the lawn. Oh, I guess we are not none, but we should have that out by the weekend :)

    1. Hi B.J, Thank you . . . the pillow was an afterthought. I was looking at my vinyl scraps from making the window and I had to use them in something :)
I have a thing about wasting anything :)

    1. Hello Lynn, thanks for stopping by and for your very sweet and encouraging words. I am surprised at how the ceiling being an extra foot higher than our old house makes this much difference, but you are right it sure does. If you decide to stencil your pillows, I do hope that you will post them :)

  13. It all looks so pretty. I love all the old wood window frames. Most of ours were steal casement cemented to the house so they had a hard time removing them. Thank you, Connie, for visiting my blog, and I am now following you. xoxo

    1. Wow, steal frames in-cased in cement . . . that sounds like a huge job. Our windows were all odd sizes and so we had to custom order them (non-refundable) we were praying that we measured right. 10 out of 12 went in very easily, but we struggled with two of them :) Our plumbing has been another story. We would take pipes in for new fittings and the hardware men would look at us like we bought in ancient artifacts, LOL

  14. Hi Connie! Thanks for visiting and following my blog. Your stone fireplace is so beautiful (and love the Morris chair)! It looks like you're ready for Christmas all right :) I'll be putting up my tree today, which is quite late for me. And my family hopes that I'll get that done quick enough to bake some cookies afterwards. There have been giant hints in that direction!! Enjoy your day. Wendy x
