Happy Memorial Day

Our Memorial Day was a simple one.
We sat out on the porch in the afternoon
and watched the farmers across the road
bale their hay.
This is our view.
See the weeds growing in the ditch.
 Here's a closer look.
I left the sink full of dishes,
I didn't do much of anything . . .
except relax.
I even took time to see the
beauty in the wild weeds :)

I love watching them harvest the hay.
What is more "Country Living" than that?

We have so much to be thankful for.
One being the brave men and women that
fight for our freedom.
They will always be remembered
and held in high esteem.

God Bless them all . . .
Past & Present.

Have a great day!
Your blogging sister,
Connie :)

    1. It was a nice day and even though the hay was baled yesterday, the smell of new mowed hay was in the air this morning as I woke. It is such a sweet smell :)

  10. Sometimes it's important to leave the housework and go outside and enjoy SUMMER.
I remember driving the tractor with the baler behind. I enjoyed that. Those were simpler days with much less sophisticated equipment.

    1. While we were sitting on the porch our conversation went in the direction of how much farm equipment has changed in the last fifty years. It's pretty amazing. I would love to find an old tractor, not that we need one on our little property, but it would be nice to plow the driveway when we have a snowy year.

  11. What a wonderful way to spend the day Connie! There is so much beauty in the simple things in life, like baling hay. I too can see beauty in weeds, as long as they're not in my flower beds. lol! We all need a day like this now and then.
    hugs,

    1. I agree! I would not have thought these weeds were pretty if they had been in my yard, but because they were in the ditch across the road it was another story, LOL.

    1. Hi Carol, I believe that it is not a matter of latitude but of attitude. We can all live a perfect life if we stop and realize that the Lord put us right here where we are. It's like that one phase, "Bloom where you are planted". I have to say, I love our new (old) country home and to us it is perfect; we would not chance a thing. You, young lady are someone that I totally admire and your Polka Dot Flea is a delight. I wish that I could be there, but I will certainly be waiting for your blog posts. You are the best!!!

  14. I love your red and white porch! It is so fun looking. I'm glad you took the time to relax even though you had dishes in the sink. We should all take a lesson! Happy Memorial Day a bit late, and yes, we are free because of our brave men and women and I thank them.
