This is my new shelf . . .
This was the old one.
It is now in the bedroom :)
Before it held dishtowels
and now it holds this quilt.
I made this quilt almost two years ago.
When I hung it here . . .
I thought I needed some pillow cases to match:)
Easy fix, I took ready-made pillowcases
and added a polka dot boarder.
I made this one for contrast . . .
and because this is one of my favorite
Bible verses.
Saying it is a great way to start my morning :)
Look at this adorable wooden hanger.
My neighbor saw two of these in an antique shop,
and bought one for herself and one for me :)
It's from a laundry/cleaners
in San Francisco.
I do hope that you enjoyed
your visit;
It is always a pleasure having you drop by . . .
especially when you leave a comment.
It's the only way that I know you were here.
Have A Fantastic Day
&
Keep Smiling!
Your blogging sister,
Connie :)
So much to look at, but I am in love with the wooden hanger and the lovely embroidered pieces.
ReplyDeleteI had those pillowcases in a drawer until my sweet friend gave me that hanger. That antique hanger gave me a lovely way to display them :)
DeleteHi Connie, oh my I was getting ready to throw out some wooden hangers. I better have another look!!! Your new shelf is nice. And I never thought about just adding trim to pillow cases. Clever! I just made some for our couch. I need to blog them (sigh)

ReplyDeleteI just like things that say "happy" to me . . . and color does that. My goal has always been to have a home that people can feel comfortable in when they visit. I have always been drawn to old household tools and many of the things on my kitchen shelf were tools given to me by my sweet neighbor. They were modern when this kitchen was new, LOL.
DeleteI love your quilt, and that's the perfect place for it. Nice job on the pillowcases. Just the perfect touch to pull everything together.
ReplyDeleteThank you . . . i am delighted that you like what i've done :)

ReplyDeleteI have to admit that putting those embroidered pillowcases on the antique hanger was not my idea, but my friend's, who gave me the hanger. That is what she did with hers and I asked if I could steal her idea and do the same. I think it is the perfect way to show them off :)
DeleteYou do beautiful work. Every things looks so nice. Love your fence headboard. Red is my favorite color so I really like all the red in your house.
ReplyDeleteRed is my favorite color, too. It's a very happy color, so, I would expect someone who calls herself "Happyone" to like it, too :) I love red shoes and feel like dancing every time I wear them; how about you?
DeleteNo red shoes, but I have a red corvette. : )
DeleteBetter yet!

I hope you are doing well my friend!

Hi Vicky, I am doing very well, each day is a new blessing and another chance to enjoy the world around me. I guess I'm what they refer to as a "Cockeyed Optimist". I look back at all the bad that has happened in my life and I can see how the Lord was always there holding me up, cheering me on, to make the right choices. The past reinforces the future . . . He is always there :) How can we not look forward to each new day.
DeleteI am delighted that you like my new shelf. Steve read the comments on the post where I featured it. He was so pleased . . . he's my sweetie pie and I love the shelf he built.

ReplyDeleteCarol
Hi Carol, Steve built me that shelf in the kitchen two weeks ago. I love having a place to display my vintage kitchen gadgets and finds. It's great having you stop by, I know how very busy you are. I loved looking through all of your Polka Dot Flea photos, thank you for sharing :)
DeleteA great re-purposing of the little shelf. I buy those wooden hangers and crochet covers for them, then the clothes don't fall off. Kind of fun. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
