~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
What do you do when the sign says,
No Swimming?
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
You head out and find your own
private beach :)
See the cave up ahead.
This is where we landed . . .
A beautiful little cove with a sandy beach :)
This is mountain water coming down from Canada,
so it was cold and refreshing.
It feels good on a hot summer day in the 90's.
We had about an hour and a half
of privacy,
when a family came into the beach.
See the splash . . .
that was their son jumping off the cliffs.
I tried twice to get his photo . . .
I was just not fast enough, LOL.
Well, one more day and my friend goes back to work.
So summertime girl's kayaking is over for the year.
We are planning one more kayak/camping trip,
some weekend when her husband and my Sweet Steve
can join us.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Sometime before cold weather and hunting season.
I truly do not want to share the lake with duck hunters, LOL.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I said we have one more day . . .
so in about an hour we are going
to find another lake to explore :)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Have a great Labor Day weekend.
Your blogging sister,
Connie :)
OMW What a high jump that young lad did! Only the young have such courage. I love your private beach and ADORE your beautifully pedicured feet. Have a wonderful day. Greetings, Jo (South Africa)
ReplyDeleteHi Jo, thanks for stopping by to visit . . . I know as we get older we seem to weigh the danger a lot more than when we were young; then again, I never would have jumped off those cliffs even when I was young, LOL. As for the pedicure . . . it's just a $3 bottle of nail polish, I'm too cheap for the real thing :)
DeleteGood job on the kayaking adventure! Too bad your private beach got invaded. Enjoy your water fun. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteWe were just talking about taking one last dip in the water and heading home anyway . . . so the bonus of see a cliff jumper was fun :)
DeleteThe water looks so nice! Great photos ♥
I feel cool and refreshed just looking at your pictures. I hope to get out in my kayak on Thursday or Friday. It's been so hot here this summer that most of the lakes and rivers feel like bath water. But I still love it!!
ReplyDeleteWe have a lake a couple miles from our house, but it gets warm and green with algae, so green that by the end of August it is like pea soup. Therefore; we have to travel anywhere from a 1/2 hour to an hour to find clear clean water . . . but it's more than worth it when you arrive. Have fun kayaking :)
Deletethe water looks wonderful.
ReplyDeleteIt was very refreshing.
DeleteThanks for stopping by to visit :)
Wow, it's so pretty there. What a nice spot for kayaking. You found a good spot to relax and enjoy the water for a while too. Enjoy your last day.
ReplyDeleteHi Ann, we went again yesterday . . . to another lake and saw more cliff jumpers. Will post photos in a few days :)
DeleteSure looks like your having fun, Connie! Enjoy the summer while you can.
ReplyDeleteWhat park of WA do you live in? I have a brother in Tacoma.
Please tell me that boy didn't jump from the top of that cliff!
Tacoma is on the west side of the state, we live in the center desert area. Most of our lakes are formed by the Columbia River, Lake Roosevelt and the Grand Coulee Dam irrigation system. All of that water comes down from Canada so it is very clear and cold :)
DeleteGorgeous views. Always nice to have some time together!
ReplyDeleteWe have been having girlfriend kayak trips all summer . . . while the husbands are working the ladies go kayaking, LOL. It's been a fun summer . . . hate to see it end :)
DeleteLovely post
ReplyDeleteLovely photographs
The blue water looks inviting and the blue sky looks glorious
All the best Jan
It was one of the best days all summer . . . perfect weather and perfect water temperature. Combine that with a great friend of 40 years and it's a fun day. She is the sister that I always wish I had :)
DeleteWhat beautiful clear pictures. Great place for kayaking.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I'd try jumping off that cliff!! : )
I would never cliff jump either, not even when I was young and foolish, LOL.
DeleteI'm sure glad you have found kayaking to be so much fun. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteI am so glad that I decided to buy this little boat . . . it has opened up a whole new side of summer to look forward to. Tomorrow is my 71st birthday, so I need to grab all the gusto I can, before I'm too old, LOL.
DeleteI am glad you had a relaxing day with your friend! Nancy
ReplyDeleteThank you . . . me too . . . summer is almost over but I have made a lot of fun memories to look back on this winter when it's too cold to enjoy the outdoors :)
DeleteThat looks like the most perfect spot to swim! I can only imagine how cold and refreshing that water is on a hot summer day. Looks so beautiful and clean, too.
ReplyDeleteIt's a great lake. Too cold for swimming until at least July but very clear and for the most part very private.
DeleteOh you do have a lot of fun kayaking! I hope this latest trip is great. Your pictures are lovely.
ReplyDeleteThanks for stopping by . . . we took our last trip yesterday and I will post photos later this week. The water was so still that the reflections were breath taking. I'm going to be sadden when summer comes to an end :)
DeleteThat looks like such a beautiful place! I can't imagine jumping off that high cliff.
ReplyDeleteOh I cannot imagine doing that either . . . I remember once climbing up a high diving board, only to crawl back down the ladder, LOL.
DeleteWhen I see such a sign I give up😀Your idea was much better
ReplyDeleteDo you remember the song, "This Land Is My Land, This Land Is Your Land?" I know that there must be rules, and that most of them are for safety reason . . . but sometime I feel too regulated :)
DeleteSuch a beautiful post. I love all of your pictures. Enjoy your one more day!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Hi Betsy, thank you so much . . . we went to Deep Lake at the Sun Lake Parks state park, yesterday. Have you camped there? The water was like glass and I have some great photos to post. I could have had more but my battery ran down on my camera :(
DeleteWhat a great place to spend time in! I love my kayak but I'm in very gentle water...I watch huge turtles and fish and cower from swans. This a whole new deal!
ReplyDeleteBrave little cliff diver. Subtract 40 years and I'd do it!
Thanks for the lovely pst.
Jane
You are braver than I . . . subtract 40 years and I still would not do it, LOL.
DeleteWhat a delightfully tranquil spot!...such beautiful clear water and the reflections on the surface...lovely. I can just feel that cold refreshing water and hear the laughter and splashing as you shared your space with others. Wish I could have brought my kayak over and joined in the fun.
ReplyDeleteOh, I wish you lived closer, we would certainly invite you to join us . . . the more the merrier :)
DeleteThe scenery is beautiful. Where I live is very flat, so I always appreciate hills, cliffs etc and the lake is such a beautiful blue xxx
ReplyDeleteWe do have some beautiful lakes in our area . . . most of them are too cold for swimming until later in the summer. We have one very close though and it is great swimming in June and the first of July, but then it gets terrible with algae and is a mess. We are blessed to have these cold water lakes a half to an hour away, and a beautiful short road trip to get to them:)
DeleteOh how fun! Nothing like a dip in brisk water to beat the heat!!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
It was a great day :)
DeleteOh what a beautiful spot! The water does look so fresh & perfect for a swim, glad you enjoyed some RandR!
ReplyDeleteGreat weather, clear water and good friendship . . . it all added up to a prefect day :)
DeleteOh my...what a beautiful place to spend time with your friend.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it lovely . . . it's amazing how when you have time to stop and smell the roses, you look around and are amazed at all the beauty around you :)
DeleteLooks like you found a good place to be quiet and enjoy the refreshing water, glad you are having a good time with your friend!
ReplyDeleteThank you . . . this has been a fun summer. I'm so glad that I decided to purchase this little kayak :)
DeleteI thoroughly enjoyed your kayaking trip! It looks so peaceful and relaxing. What a great way to experience the beautiful nature that God has given us! With hubby set to retire in 1 to 3 years and wanting to do a lot of RV traveling, I'm beginning to think we might need a kayak to take along with us! Have a Creatively Blessed Day Connie, D~~~~
ReplyDeleteThey are so much fun and you can build a stand and put them right on the back of your RV. Mine is small enough to stick inside when traveling :)
