A friend of mine handed me this magazine
a few weeks ago . . .
there I am, back-row on the far left.
These folks are the best!
We have so much fun when we play together.

Now on to our busy week.
Last week we built this . . .
Fence :)
Two weeks ago we dug holes
and set the fence posts.
Then last week, every night when Steve got
home from work we put up a few fence boards.
By Friday afternoon we had a new fence across
the back section of the
property behind the house.
We want to do it to the entire back
of the property,
but this is it for now.
We are 1/3 done and will start on the
rest in the Spring :)
As you get older you learn
to pace yourselves, LOL.
Are you getting tired of my tomato photos?
Saturday morning, Steve and I made salsa together.
I wish you were here to taste it . . .
It's so good!
We put up 7 pints and had a quart
of fresh left to put in the refrigerator
to eat now . . .
bring a bag of chips and come on over:)
I'm closing with this photo.
In the spring I planted a morning glory
under my lamppost. I was hoping it would
grow up the post,
but it did that and more.
Now at night the light does it's best
to shine through the vine, LOL.

Have A Great Week
&
Keep Smiling!

Your blogging sister,
Connie :)
That salsa really does look good, I wish I lived close enough to pop over. Take care.
ReplyDeleteWe are having so much fun learning how to put food up for winter. Just goes to show that a couple of old dogs can learn new tricks, LOL.
DeleteGreat to see you all smiling in your group photo - keep on playing, keep on having fun!
ReplyDeleteYou asked "Are you getting tired of my tomato photos?"
My answer ... No, and I love the look of your salsa.
You've done a great job of your new fence too - I hope this week may be a little less busy for you.
All the best Jan
Actually yesterday I worked out in the garden all day, but today I spent a lot of time out in the barn sewing. It felt good to sit at the sewing machine again :)
DeleteWow, you have been busy. That salsa sure looks yummy. I'll grab a bag of chips and be right there :)
ReplyDeleteI wish you would :)
DeleteLovely article! It's good to see you. The salsa looks yummy and great job on the fence!
ReplyDeleteBlessings,
Betsy
Thank you :)
DeleteThat salsa looks so good. I have made it in the past, but none this summer. I will be sorry this winter. Enjoy!
ReplyDeleteIt feels so good learning to put food up for winter. I'm really excited about it!
DeleteNice, you made the paper. : ) You must have loads of fun doing that!
ReplyDeleteWow that is some morning glory!!
That morning glory is taking over the light pole, but I think it looks cool. I hope that it will reseed it's self for next year :)
DeleteI would love to see you perform with that group of people! And I love seeing your fence making.. it's gorgeous.. and your tomatoes! ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Teresa, we are all a bunch of old geezers, but we have a lot of fun playing together. We play nursing homes, assisted living building, farmer markets . . . things like that. We did play for a Good Sam's camp out, it was our largest audience, around three hundred. If you would have told me 10 years ago that I would be singing in front of anyone but family, I would have laughed at you. Isn't it funny how when you look back at your life and compare the passages of time, they are so different . . . almost like you lived many lives. I guess I don't really have words for what I'm trying to say, but do you know what I mean?
DeleteIs there ever a time when you aren't busy!! How often do you get to play with your group now? Must be fun! Your new fence is so pretty too. I only made salsa once and used a mix. I am chicken to work with hot peppers! Beautiful morning glory growing upthe light pole. Nancy
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy, Since we bought this place I have cut back on my playing time . . . I'm so busy around here, but I join them when I can. I love hot spicy food and I'm ready to make another batch of salsa, it is so good. It is always a pleasure to hear from you . . . have a lovely week.
DeleteWhat a sensible way to do your fence...you have quite a big property! Your Salsa looks yummy and the Morning Glory is amazing!
ReplyDeleteThank you. I am hoping that the morning glory reseeds its self and we have them again next year :)
DeleteI guess I shouldn't be surprised that you and Steve installed that fence yourselves. ;-) And wow, you are famous! (Being published in that magazine.) I would love to taste your homemade salsa...one of my favorites. If I lived closer, I'd definitely be paying you a visit with a bag of tortilla chips in hand!
ReplyDeleteMelanie, I would be over joyed to see you knocking on my door :)
DeleteWow! Can I have your autograph? You look great in that photo my friend. And homemade salsa is the best! Enjoy your week. Sweet hugs, Diane
ReplyDeleteHi Diane, you are so sweet . . . you put a smile on my face, thanks :)
DeleteWhen you hear the knock on your door, that'll be me with the chips! I wish I could taste that salsa too ... looks delicious! I wish I could hear your band playing together too ;)
ReplyDeleteThe best morning glory display I saw was someone had a front porch (much like yours) and they ran quite a few strings from the plants in the garden to the gutter of the porch ... all across the front of the porch. In September the morning glories were AMAZING and filled in the front of the porch with lush greenery and hundreds of beautiful blue blooms! I was always sorry I didn't get a photo of that, but it'll stay in my memory forever :)
Wendy
Hi Wendy, I have a memory of a lake filled with water lilies that has stayed in my mind since childhood. Sometimes we are blessed with a picture from nature that is too awesome to ever forget. I wish you lived close enough to grab those chips and come on over . . . it would be great visiting with you in person :)
DeleteLovely post, Connie - your home is now looking so wonderful with each new addition! You have both worked so hard. Love the cooking shots too! Make my mouth water!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your lovely and very encouraging comment! So glad you enjoyed your visit to my blog.
Shoshi
It is going to be nice with that fence up, and I will be so glad when we finally have our little acre all fenced in. Our neighbors have German Shepherds and Huskies and they look through the wire fence at Butch and lick their chops. It's just a matter of time before they realize that they could jump or dig under that wire fence. Hopefully out of sight will be out of mind and our little Butch will be safe in his own yard. :) He was attacked by a big dog once, he didn't deserve that and he sure doesn't deserve it happening again.
DeleteYour fencing is so beautiful! Love those tomatoes too ♥

Thank you so much :)
DeleteHow neat to be in the magazine, so good to have something you can enjoy with friends. The fence looks great, yep pacing yourself is a good idea! MMM the salsa does look delicious. Wow did those morning glories take off, that is terrific!
ReplyDeleteWe have a happy little farm going on here . . . I feel so blessed. I'm chopping onions and peppers today for another canner pot full of salsa :) I am enjoying this so much and it will be great this winter.
