Always Something To Smile About :)

Okay, call me crazy if you want to!
I'm finishing up my granddaughter's quilt,
but before I finish I've started two more.
~~~~~***~~~~~
Paper piecing these little house shapes . . .
And putting them together.
I've started this :)
Then I've also started this one :)
I have the binding cut out for my granddaughter's quilt
and probably should be over in the barn sewing it on
now, instead of blogging . . .
But I enjoy blogging with my morning coffee.
Look at this adorable key chain  .  .  .
I was the name drawn in
Sandie's sweet Give-A-Away.
Visit Sandie here:
~~~~~***~~~~~
It is going to look great
hanging from my keys :)
In answer to your question Sandie,
I rarely get off the farm,
except to fabric shop and buy groceries, LOL

My flowers are looking lovely . . .

I think that Dill Weed is pretty enough to be called a flower
and I love the fresh smell of dill.

My side kick is doing fine this summer . . .
he loves being a farm dog
and he is so much help around here, LOL.

 He does keep me smiling . . .
How can you not smile at a tail that never stops waging :)

That's it!

Thanks for stopping in to say "Hi"
please leave a comment, if you have the time.

Keep Smiling!

  8. Sounds like you are one busy gal and it seems I always have more than one project going on at the same time, too. I think it is in our blood, Connie. I love that picture of you smiling and your sweet little ball of fur is pretty darned cute.
    I hope you have a good night. xo Diana

    1. That photo was taken while I was out weeding the garden. No make up and my old gardening hat, but that's about how I look everyday. I'm afraid that now that I'm retired I'm in that hat and jeans most all the time except maybe on Sundays.

  18. I always love seeing your quilts...they're all so unique and beautiful! I agree that dill weed is pretty ~ you can even cut it and add it to flower bouquets. Your little doggie is SO darling!

    1. Hi Melanie, I have added them to bouquets and I love it. You seem to know a lot more about flowers than I do, so I have a question. Some of my carrots have gone to seed and their blooms look just like Queen Anne's Lace. Do you know if Queen Anne's Lace is a wild carrot? I'm going to add some of them to my next bouquet.

  19. Love that happy smile! And that sweet doggie.
    Your flowers always look prettier than a florist's arrangement.
    But, Oh, that paper pieced quilt! The colors and arrangement of colors are wonderful.
    Looking forward to seeing the finished product.

    1. Thank you for your sweet and encouraging words. That quilt is made from my scrap box . . . I kind of love scrap box quilts they are so colorful and interesting with all the many fabrics. I have a plan in my head of where the design of this quilt will go, but I have changed plans in mid stream many times, LOL.

  22. Hello lovely lady. What a sweet photo of you! You have to be the most prolific quilter I know. I'm so impressed with your ability to knock them out so quickly. You lead a full, interesting life, my friend. Your flowers are gorgeous, and I so agree with the title of your post. "There's always something to smile about." Hugs.

    1. The two of you are so supportive and you do so much to encourage quilters of all levels. You may not realize the amount of positive energy you give out, but that energy fuels people like me to try new techniques and to keep improving our skills. You say, Good for me for having all my productive energy, but Good for you for being the cheerleaders that keep us going. Thank you :)

  25. Connie, that quilt is wonderful - the colors, the designs of the fabric, and the fact that you're making it for your granddaughter. I love that coffee cup, and I'm sipping on my coffee right now while blogging too. Those daisies in the blue and white vase are so pretty. Daisies remind me of my mom. What a sweet picture this is of you. It's nice to see our blog friend's faces once in awhile. You have such a pretty smile. Enjoy the rest of the summer days.

  26. Hi Connie! Two quilts??? you are nuts/amazing! Loved seeing the sunny picture of you and your doggie.... our fur friends can always make us smile! I love that paper pieced quilt and how it ends up looking like crosses.... it would be so pretty in pastels (which I love!). Your bright and cheery quilt colors definitely make me smile too. How can we not smile when we are in our craft room doing what we love... I love blogging too and writing to my wonderful and fun blog friends. sometimes I'd rather do that than anything else (when I should be cleaning or cooking, etc.). Our town is a big mess today with traffic jambing up the streets.. will be glad when all the people go home from the eclipse! We probably had about 100,000 extra people in our town last weekend and through yesterday. They are still trying to leave but traffic is backed up (I hear) for a long ways. I need to go look at the web cams and see what's going on! Have a fun week.. Marilyn
