Hello Blogging Sisters!
I've been away for a week,
taking this lovely instrument to our granddaughters.
It was given to me by a lady in our church.
She wanted it to go to a good home
and some young person taking lessons.
Our oldest granddaughter (12 years) has been taking
lessons since September and loves it.
We all met up at Newport, Oregon.
The weather was rainy and foggy,
but we always have fun together.
That's their dog Astro at the bottom
of the photo.
As many of you know I don't post photos
of our daughter and her family on my blog,
but I have some lovely photos of my trip.
This is an old lighthouse . . .
boarded up and not used anymore.
A park just below the lighthouse.
We walked down around the bay area
and ate dinner at the famous Mo's.
While at the bay I saw seals out on the rocks,
Colorful buoys hanging everywhere . . .
and picked up a boyfriend, LOL.
I like the strong rugged type :)
Over by the ocean we saw this cute group
of cottages.
Notice the big anchor.
This was the gate into the cottages.
On the drive back to our daughter's home,
we stopped at this covered bridge.
The next few photos were taken around the bridge area.
That is not grass but about 4 different types of moss,
with tiny flowers that look like mini daises.
It was enchanting.
I hope you enjoyed tagging along
with me.
I am now back home and ready to
get back to my normal lovely life.
It was wonderful spending time with our girls
and just getting away for a fun trip.
Oh, and I met some interesting people
on the plane.
A lady that teaches blind children
and a man that just sold his business.
A bread bakery in New Jersey
and was retiring and starting
a new life adventure out west.
It was a fun trip.
Keep Smiling!
Your blogging sister,
Connie :)
Lovely pictures! I love the green-ness of Oregon! We live in McMinnville, OR. DH and I are on a trip to Northfield, MN to see our grandson's senior organ recital at St. Olaf College. We got stuck in the blizzard - after having barely a few snowflakes at our home in OR. I will probably post some photos when I get home to add to my blog. I enjoy going to Newport occasionally. It's about 1 1/2 hrs from our town.
ReplyDeleteHave a safe trip . . . so sorry about the blizzard. Do you think that Spring will ever arrive this year?
DeleteHappy traveling!
Oh Connie, I absolutely love all of your photo's!! what a wonderful trip you had with your family! Such scenery you were blessed to witness! Thank you for sharing on your blog.
ReplyDeleteI am happy you visited my blog, as well.

We live in a desert area so it is always fun to go to an area that is lush and green. The air is so fresh and full of oxygen. Thanks for visiting:)
DeleteThank you for sharing your trip and showing all the lovely pics. Not too sure about you and Captain Hook though !
ReplyDeleteHe was a handsome dude, right? LOL
DeleteHow nice to spend time with your daughter and granddaughter. That looks like a lovely town you were in there. Love all the photos.
ReplyDeleteHi Ann, thanks for visiting. I did have a lovely time; it's always fun spending time with my girls:)
DeleteIt was a joy to come along with you sounds like an amazing trip. Loved the new man in your life...LOL!!!
ReplyDeleteHe was a cutie pie, but my hubby gives much better hugs, LOL.
DeleteConnie, what fun you have wherever you go! I think the 'boyfriend' looks a little shady. lol Another great post.
ReplyDeleteYep, I don't think that I'll be trading my Steve for him, LOL.
DeleteWhat an interesting trip. The little lighthouse is very intriguing, I'd love to know its history. I have read stories that contain references to covered bridges, and always wondered what they look like. Now I know! Thank you.
ReplyDeleteLike you I never post family pictures on the blog.
I enjoy blogging and have made so many sweet blogging friends, but I try (other than my husband) to keep my family out of my blogging fun. There are several covered bridges in Oregon and many in my home state of Indiana, also. Thanks so much for stopping by to visit.
DeleteI'm so happy to tag along! What a beautiful area...the cottages and the sea "decor" (for lack of a better word!) are so wonderful! Your new boyfriend looks very rugged...hope hubby doesn't mind lol! ;)
ReplyDeleteHubby has no worries . . . that old private was cold and hard-hearted . . . my Steve is warm, kind and gives the best hugs in the world :) I won't be trading him in LOL.
DeleteWhat a lovely trip. A part of the this country I would love to visit.
ReplyDeleteThe Oregon coast is a very special place. I hope you get a chance to go there sometime :)
DeleteConnie, That was a great vacation. Love that the beautiful violin will be played and loved by your granddaughter. Wow, all those pretty old bouys. I love seeing them. You made new friends while traveling, love that. Blessings, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteThose buoys where so colorful, I just had to photograph them. Looking at them makes me want seafood . . . but then my mind is always on food lately, LOL.
DeleteI love the colorful Bouys! The photos you took of them would look beautiful on a canvas.
ReplyDeleteLisa
That is so sweet, thank you :)
DeleteWhat a lovely and interesting trip and wonderful that you got to spend it with family.
ReplyDeleteThe beach was rainy, windy and cold, but still a lovely place to take a walk. I got a lot of exercise while staying there. You would have loved it:)
DeleteGlad you had a wonderful trip and the violin has a new home.
ReplyDeleteThank you, I had a lovely time :)
DeleteHi Connie, What a great looking boyfriend! haha Sounds like you sure had a wonderful trip. How wonderful that you were gifted with the violin to give to your granddaughter. I would like to have a violin player in my family but so far no luck. My daughter-in-law played when she was younger. That is a neat old lighthouse. Looked like it would make into a nice house. Glad you were able to meet some interesting people on the plane! Our son in VA called today. He was checking out of the store and was talking to the cashier and she had gone to the Expo in Montreal, Canada the same year we did and our son remembered the year we went and then the man behind him said he went to the Expo the same year there too! It suree is a small world. What a coincidence that was. I miss your posts about craft projects but am sure you will be busy and enjoying the garden season. Have a good week. Nancy
ReplyDeleteIt is a small world . . . I'll not be trading my man in for that pirate anytime soon, LOL.
DeleteSo glad you were able to get some family time in and also give them a violin, it is always good to hear that someone can get use out of something that others can't use anymore. Looks like such a pretty seaside area, glad you had a good trip
ReplyDeleteThank you, I had a wonderful time. It might have rained everyday but that did not dampen our enjoyment :)
DeleteYour pictures are just gorgeous. What a blessing for your granddaughter to be gifted this instrument. Wishing you a lovely day.
ReplyDeleteIt was a true blessing and she was thrilled :)
DeleteWhat a wonderful vacation! The reason for going was great and I know just seeing family would be enough, but you had so many beautiful sights as well. I loved your photos!
ReplyDeleteThank you Mary, I am so glad that you stopped by :)
DeleteSo happy you had a fun trip, I just want to take the boards off that old lighthouse building type cottage and go in and decorate it it is so darn cute just like your new boyfriend lol Love the colorful pictures of the buoys that would be so cool blown up and framed in an old chippy frame. I am sure your grandchildren loved having you and your husband there and also appreciated that cool instrument. good to see you have some fun and get away.....thanks for sharing Lisa@ Sweet Tea N' Salty Air
ReplyDeleteIt was a fun trip . . . but poor grandpa stayed home and worked. I know what you mean about the lighthouse, wouldn't that be a marvelous place to call home :)
DeleteHow wonderful that you got to see your family again and in such a beautiful area! I would love to visit Oregon someday. On my bucket list!
ReplyDeleteIt is a beautiful state and they have very stick recycling and littering laws . . . you never see trash along the roads. I wish they would crack down on litter around here. I walked the length of our property on both sides of the road the other day and filled a kitchen trash bag. Shame on people, I just don't understand it.
DeleteWow! I guess I was standing on my bandwagon, LOL. Sorry to blow-up, but it's one of my pet peeves.
So pleased you got away to spend time with your girls ... precious memories.
ReplyDeleteI loved seeing all of your photographs.
All the best Jan
Thank you Jan :)
DeleteI've yet to visit Oregon but would love to get there one of these days. Even with gray weather it has so much to offer.
ReplyDeleteOregon is a beautiful state; I do hope you make it there one day :)
DeleteWhat a beautiful area to explore! That fourth shot with the houses clustered on top of the cliff ... wow! can you imagine living up there and seeing that wild ocean right outside your door?! I'm heading out west in a little bit and am looking forward to walking through some of those mossy green forests (Canadian side) ;)
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a fun time with the family. It's nice that the violin has found a promising new home!
Wendy
