My Second Quilt for 2019.

I'm on a roll, what with cold cloudy days . . .
my answer to enjoying the weather is to quilt :)

I used a jelly roll purchased from
Green Fairy Quilts
If you're a quilter and you like to play
around with pre-cuts,
know that they have great products
and very good pricing.

Here's a Link if you want to check them out:

It was a lot of fun to piece
and came together very nicely.

Here you can see the front and the back
of the quilt side by side.

Well, that's it . . .
I'm already working on another:)

Happy Quilting
&
Keep Smiling!

Your blogging sister,
Connie :)

    1. I do have to confess that the first quilt was started in December, I just got it finished in January, but I do feel like I am on a roll, LOL. Thanks so much for stopping by. I have no idea why you keep coming up as anonymous. It makes it impossible to get back to your blog, and I miss that so much. Thanks for always putting your name at the end of your comment, otherwise I would be deleting it. God bless.

    1. Thank you so much . . . I have much more time to quilt in the winter, so that's why I can get them done this fast. That and the fact that I do not follow a pattern and just design as I go. I think that makes it easier and for me much more fun and relaxing:)

    1. Jelly rolls are a lot of fun. They're 2 1/2 inch wide and 45 inches long in many coordinated colors. You'll have to try using one some day :)

    1. You are too sweet . . . my quilts are nothing compared to most of the quilters on-lone, but they are warm and cozy and a great way to show my love to family and home.

    1. Actually when I was adding the top and bottom boarders to this quilt, just before I started to sew the second one on, I noticed that I had stitched the first one to the side and not the top. Thank God for steam rippers, they are very handy tools, LOL.

  8. You are really on a roll. This is a nice one. Not only do you do nice work but you do it quick too

    1. It seems quick because I'm retired and can go out and work on a quilt for between 4 and 8 hours at a time. You cann't do that when you're working.

  10. I like your newest quilt and I hope you don't mind but I'm sending a picture of it to a dear friend who is widowed and really into quilting to fill her days. I think she'll like this kind of a pattern for something different.

  14. Hi Connie, You are on a roll! That quilt is so pretty and cheerful looking. Instead of practicing my piano today I worked a little on my quilt. Still praying. Hugs, Nancy

    1. Hi Nancy, I'm happy that you had time for working on your quilt . . . I love what you said about using up the bolt of batting. It will definitely take a long while, but no more going to the store and paying big prices for a small amount at a time:) I am truly grateful for your prayers and Steve's heart was touched when I told him that you were praying for him, thank you.

  16. How fun! Your quilt is so bright and cheery. Those precuts do make piecing easier, don't they?

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Precuts save a huge amount of time and give you so many different fabrics and patterns. If you went out and purchased quarter yards of all those different fabrics it would coast so much, take a huge amount of time choosing them and time at the cutting counter, too. I really like using them and make at least two or three quilts from them each year:)

  17. Well you are a busy girl! Another beautiful quilt and I love the fresh colours! Well done! If I lived closer, I would definitely come over and learn how to quilt! I would probably bring my crochet hook too, just to vary the pleasures!

    1. That would be amazing! You could teach me a few things about crochet. I made an afghan of granny squares that I love, but the way I tied my different colored threads together was not good. I am forever going in and mending them where they ravel apart. So much that I'm afraid to wash it for fear that it will be a rag when I remove it from the washer. So I use it for display but not for cuddling, LOL.

    1. Thank you so much . . . well, my sweet husband is not well, so we are kind of house bold . . . quilting is a great way to pass the time and put a little enjoyment into a sad passage of time. It's never a happy time when the one you love is in pain. I know that this will pass and hopefully he will be better soon and in the meantime I'll pile up a few quilts, LOL.

    1. This second quilt was a "quilt as you go" so I did most of it on the machine . . . that always makes for a fast finish :) I love my little Brother machine it has served me well and I hope it last as long as I do, LOL.

  21. Connie your quilt is beautiful. Many years ago when my Grandma was still with me I would help her quilt. She made me a beautiful blue one when I got married and moved into our home. It is a cherished treasure. Hope you are staying warm and busy. Sending you Hugs!

  24. Wow you are on a roll, that is so pretty, I so love the colors of the fabrics and the cute embellishments on it too! Did you hand quilt this one too, if so you are a faster quilter than I am, usually that takes me a long time to do. Neat piecing on the back of it too!

    1. Hi Connie, no, this one was quilted on my machine in the "quilt as you go" fashion. Hand quilting takes me much longer, too. I am loving that you think it's pretty, thank you :)

  25. LOVE this quilt Connie! I love the strips and using a jelly roll. I think you used quilt as you go on this one? Did you make a long row of the strips sewn together, and then use QAYG to put the rows together? I would love to do something like this with my pinks and roses and whites. You are on a roll dear friend! Love all of your sharing and inspiration! Hugs.. Marilyn

  27. These lovely quilts just add so much cheer to the home.
My daughter is learning to quilt. She just bought 12 rolls of these.fabric jelly rolls at Goodwill for three dollars a roll. She was delighted but I couldn't figure out what they were going to be used for.

Now that I see these cheery quilts I understand why she was so happy!

    Have a blessed day
