Pretty New Dishtowels

Sometimes that Pioneer Woman

just puts out something you

cannot resist.

 I don't have a dishwasher

so I use dishtowels

all the time.

And they are more fun to use

when they're pretty.

I'm one for those silly

old girls that actually enjoys

 doing dishes :)

Have you bought

yourself a present

lately?

When you buy it yourself

you always get the right

color and the right fit, LOL

Have a lovely day!

&

God bless you.

Connie :)

  1. Your new dish towels are so cheery. I don't have a dishwasher either. I like a nice absorbent towel that's not too small. If it is also pretty that's a bonus. My Mom used to have plain white dishtowels (home made) with days-of-the-week pictures that she'd embroider on each one. You know the ones...a lady doing laundry on Monday, Ironing on Tuesday....
I haven't bought myself a present in ages. Seems there's not much I want ((except chocolate ))

    1. Well then I hope that you're buying yourself chocolate. We all deserve something special that puts a smile on her face. Treating ourselves to something tasty or pretty is just nice to do every now and then.

  2. Those are pretty... I love the bright colors. I do not enjoy doing dishes, but I do enjoy a kitchen that doesn't have dirty dishes in the sink! I have a dishwasher and I love it!

  3. When we moved here and there was no dishwasher Steve wanted to put one in, but I injured my right hand many years ago and actually soaking it in hot soapy water doing dishes really feels good. So I consider doing dishes therapy, not only does it help my hand but it's kind of relaxing to me. I know to each his own, I'm an oddball.

  5. Hi Connie- I do the Dishes every night after super- it goes quickly when there is only the two of us- different story when we have six Friends over for a three course meal- though I still do the washing up happily. Have a great weekend there. Cheers. KEV.

  7. So true!! I love dish towels too and guess what? I have never owned a dish washer. Washing dishes if about my favorite of all the household chores. Your new towels are so pretty! Have to admit though, sometimes after a big Thanksgiving meal with all the family here, I've sorta wished for a dishwasher. :)

    1. Holidays and lots of company would be a good time for a dishwasher, but I think when there are two or more people in the kitchen doing the dishes together you have the best conversation as well as laughs and giggles :)

  8. I have to say those are some gorgeous dish towels. The colors and prints are very pretty. I think I need some! As for doing the dishes, I'm with you all the way! There are only the two of us here, and doing dishes by hand works for us just fine. I've never used a dishwasher, to tell the truth. I enjoy doing them the old fashioned way.

  10. We have only had a dishwasher since we moved into this home, about 7 years ago. But there are still some things that need to be washed by hand, and dried. I'm one of those people who enjoy doing the laundry! Hanging it out in the sunshine and seeing it moving gently in the breeze really pleases me. Plus I quite enjoy ironing too, but have to admit I've cut this right down after my back problems. Wish I had a fairy who would come and do the cleaning though.

  11. Such beautiful cheerful colours Connie .. I think they would make doing the dishes a pleasure. I love nice dishtowels hanging in my kitchen - they make me smile. We call them teatowels here. Enjoy your day Connie xx

  13. Love the colors and patterns on those dishtowels! Are they smooth cotton or terry cloth? I love dishtowels but I have to admit, I'm picky about them and only like the heavier, smooth cotton ones. Though I suppose even if one didn't use those and had them in a folded pile in a basket in the kitchen, they'd look very pretty.

I have a dishwasher - couldn't do without it! One chore I hate doing is dishes. Of course, I hand wash some things, especially if they need scrubbing. But I don't enjoy it! ;-)

  15. I love Pionner Woman and her pretty things! She is one great gal and her life is so interesting! I envied her when she met and married her cowboy! I see her placemats and cookware at Walmart and always want to buy it, but never have. I may have to break down and get some pretty new dishtowels though, as love these! especially love the flowered ones and I love a pretty towel hanging in my kitchen. I do have a dishwasher but do dish washing by hand most of the time now, since it's just me. I still manage to end up with a sink full of dishes thoug! I almost don't like having the dishwasher, as it makes it easier to just pile something int he sink and plan to put it in the dishwasher later. It is almost a waste of time, to wash a dish.. then put it IN the d/w.. and then have to take it out and put it away! I may run it once a week and wash the rest by hand. But I still love my pretty dishtowels! Those look like a nice quality.. I don't like those ones that have that fluffy side that catches on everything... I forget what it's called but don't like it at all. Those end up in my rag bag, though don't even like using them as rags! The back side is usually that mesh stuff.. doesn't absorb worth beans. I think washing dishes by hand is very therapeutic for the mind too.. very relaxing. I grew up until into my 20's without a dishwasher.. my mom never wanted one. She had 4 daughters as her dishwashers! We would take turns.. one would wash, one would dry, one would set the table.. and then one got a free night. Good memories! take care and enjoy. .and yes we deserve a pretty gift for ourselves now and then! xoxo Marilyn

  16. I don't like washing dishes but I do love a pretty dishtowel. We sometimes buy a single one when on holiday. It is a bit of a British obsession to have regional dishtowels. Have a wonderful week x
