I as invited to dinner
at a friend's home a couple weeks ago
and I fell in love with her
scrappy place mats.
So I went through my scrap bins
and started making my own.
Hers were in lovely
earth tones and where beautiful . . .
but any of you who
have seen my kitchen,
will know that,
earth tones don't cut it.
My kitchen is alive with
cheerful color :)
While making these
I decided to make them reversible.
I think that they are a perfect fit
for my vintage kitchen.
Thanks for stopping by to visit.
I hope you all had a
🍁 Happy Thanksgiving 🍁
God bless you all . . .

I love your scrappy mats and they fit perfectly into your nice bright kitchen, Tilly
ReplyDeleteMiss Connie, those are the cutest placemats! Of course, I've always loved your sweet, happy kitchen!
ReplyDeleteGrace & Peace,
Pam
I love them Connie! They are perfect for your kitchen.
ReplyDeletePS - We put up the Christmas decorations yesterday and I thought of you as I hung the little joy garland you made for me quite a few years ago. :)
Your placemats reflect your country kitchen perfectly! Scrappy projects always just feel like home, don't they? They will also blend well with traditional Christmas decor. Great job!
ReplyDeleteOh Connie! I love your scrappy placemats! If I ever get settled somewhere I want to make some. Your kitchen is so bright and fun!! The reds just pop and makes me want to add red somehow to my next kitchen! You are always so productive! You inspire me to sew again. I will one of these days. There may be a move for me in the near future if everything goes well....more on that soon, either via email or a blog post!!! Hugs....Marilyn
ReplyDeleteI love your beautiful placemats and they are perfect for your kitchen. I'm so impressed how you just whip them up so quickly. I hope you are feeling completely back to normal now. I woke up feeling completely normal today, thank goodness. We went to the zoo with the kids. It was 18F and COLD! Plus we walked almost 5 miles. There is no way I could have done that yesterday! Afterwards we went back to daughters and had leftovers from yesterday. It was wonderful! Take care of yourself and please know I've been praying for you.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
Earth tones for your new place mats just wouldn't look right in your kitchen. You've made them so cheery on both sides.
ReplyDelete💛💙💜 The reverse side with the appliqued little girls is so cute. I like how orderly your different colours of scraps are organized! I hope you are keeping well. Granny M
You are so right, they are the perfect fit for your kitchen. Not only the color but the look. I love those vintage children appliques. So adorable.
ReplyDeleteConnie, those are so attractive...and I wish the binding on mine was as neat as yours! I'm just in the middle of making some Christmassy mats.
ReplyDeleteYour very talented Connie- lovely work- and you have created a beautiful looking Kitchen area. Best Wishes. KEV.
ReplyDeleteI love color and I love your placemats! Such a good idea to make them reversible. A clever use of fabric scraps.
ReplyDeleteOH wow! Those are so beautiful and I love the colors and theme...and the reverse side is really sweet. I love those little figures on them. I love your kitchen and all the happy colors and farm style decor! It looks like a kitchen I would love to sit in and enjoy a cup of tea with you at your table. Love those blue chairs too! This was delightful! Makes me wish I had a stash of scraps and the ability to whip up such delightful items. I don't do much sewing (practically NONE at all except for repairs), so I don't have any neat scraps to use up. Makes me wish I did. Thank you for sharing this with us. If I lived nearby I would commission you to make some for me! :)
ReplyDeleteOh I LOVE your placemats. They are perfect for your kitchen and would be for mine too. :)
ReplyDeleteI left a comment yesterday but for some reason I got a pop up message that said it couldn't be published right then but to try again later. Well, it still wouldn't publish later so finally I gave up. So hopefully today everything works normally.
ReplyDeleteThe placemats look lovely and I like the cheeriness of them. As days get shorter and shorter I find I need to have cheerful and bright things around me, if that makes sense. Granny M
( I just got that same frustrating message so I'll come back later and try.)
The place mats are beautiful Connie. Aren't you clever to make the reversible!
ReplyDeleteYour scrappy placements are so cheerful and pretty, Connie. I'm not one for earth tones, either. Love the reverse side, too. Belated Happy Thanksgiving!
ReplyDeleteHi Connie,
ReplyDeleteGreat to hear from you! Thank you so much for the kind words on my blog. Now, wow … your scrappy place mats are so cool. I admire your creative abilities! Your kitchen just looks so homey … just great! Hope you had a Happy Thanksgiving and wishing you happy days ahead! Take good care!

LUV your placemats. Perfect in your kitchen. You are so clever!
ReplyDeleteThese are so cute! My aunt is a quilter and gives me all her scraps this is a great way I can utilize them, been recovering our home from hurricane damage but things are pretty much done. Hope all is well Lisa @ Sweet Tea N SALTY Air
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job with matching them up to your kitchen, I have a set I put out for every season but I think I would like some new fall themed ones, maybe I should do something like this :)
ReplyDeleteConnie, I just love the placemats. Good to have two different views. Blessings, stay warm my friend, xoxo, Susie
ReplyDeleteLove your placemats and love your colorful kitchen! It's so cheerful and homey. I would love to sit at the table with you over a cup of tea or coffee and have a lovely chat.
ReplyDeleteSo adorable! I love them! I may just have to make some myself. I haven't made placemats in years. I have been changing out my placemats with the seasons. Your farm characters are adorable! I love your kitchen, mine is all things vintage too! You just never know what I'll find a place for in my little space. Thanks for the inspiration! Many blessings to you :)
ReplyDeleteI definitely like the scrappy side best! They are adorable. Your kitchen is so cheery and pretty. Perfect for adding holiday touches too. Sweet hugs, Diane (I hope to have some camping news soon...next week...I hope!)
