Washi Tape Cupboard Refresh

I just wanted to share
 little project that I did
 in my kitchen this morning.

It only took between 20 and 30 minutes
and I think it made
 a sweet little change.

Washi tape is the perfect size
for the edge of most
kitchen cupboards.
Therefore it's easy to add
 a little colorful surprise
when you open
the cupboard doors.

This is before adding the tape.

I did this once before with
red and white polka dot.
It held up nicely for
several years
and then was easy to remove.

Also this week
(I forgot to take before pictures)
I scraped old paint from the trim
around the roof
and the door of our well house.

Then I painted and added
these ornamental hinges to the door.
I did the sides of the roof trim
but I hired a gentleman
from our church to come over
and do the ends (the peak)
because this old gal didn't want
to go up the ladder quite that high.

I'm really happy with the results.

The old peeling paint
made it look so neglected
and now it looks fresh and new.

Well that's the end
of my blog post for today.

Have a wonderful week.

  1. What a great idea using the Washi tape for the edges of the shelves. You've given me a good idea Thank you💗
The shed is looking good and it's nice to know you got someone else to paint that high part. The ornamental hinges make a big difference.

    1. It's easy and if you don't like it, it comes off nicely, but only when your ready to pull it off.

  7. What a good use for that tape on your cabinets. It makes such a happy difference. You are great about keeping your out/buildings looking their best. The faux hinges add to the look. Fresh paint makes all the difference. Glad you find help for the taller spots.

    1. Thanks, I'm glad I did too! It's so easy to fall and break something. I was there the whole time he was up the ladder, ready to help if he needed it. I would hate for someone to get hurt helping me.

  11. I love the pretty blue washi tape you used, I wonder if you remember where you bought it? I would love to purchase some for my cards :). It dresses up the inside of the shelves so pretty! The hinges looked so great on the door and glad you found someone else to do the high work for you!

    1. I'm not going to take a chance on whether you come back and read this or not so I'm going to go to your blog and leave the same message. I typed in Blue Willow washi tape on Amazon just a week ago and these came up.

  12. Hi Connie: I'm late in reading blogs as it's been such a busy week. We're driving now up I-29 in Iowa on our way to South Dakota and I brought my laptop along just so I could catch up on blogs. Your well house looks very nice. You keep your place so neat and beautiful. The washi tape idea is brilliant. I love it. I wish Hubby would agree to my painting our cabinets but they look pretty nice now and he's afraid the paint would chip and not look as good. He doesn't ask very much so I'm happy to leave them be.
I hope all is going well for you and it's a bit cooler there now. We talked to our friends in Spokane recently and they said it had been pretty hot. I know we'll be wishing for the warmth in a few month. :-)
Take care and much love and blessings,
    Betsy

  14. I love washi tape and admittedly, have quite the collection! I use most of it in my art journals. However, I have used it on shelving like you have shown, too! So fun and easy to change out, isn't it? I love the shades of blue you used.
