Snow Days Are Quilt Days

Some call it winter,

Some call it quilting season.

As the snow falls,

The wind blows

And the temperatures drop

I'm inside working

On some sewing projects.

I just thought that I would

share a couple photos.

I hope you're having a sweet day.

Remembering to put God first,

because He certainly put us first

when He sent His Son

to die on the cross for us.

Hallelujah!

Have a lovely week

&

Keep smiling!

Connie :)

  2. Such pretty and happy projects you're working on. I agree that snowy days are the best for staying home, nice and warm with whatever project you're working on.
    Blessings,

    1. One of the very best things about retirement is, if the roads are bad you can stay home. I love that!
Staying home helps on the price of gas, too, LOL

  3. Quilting on a snowy day (or a rainy one) is a great idea! Love the quilt glimpses.

  4. Nice that you are putting your time to good use during this cold spell. I've been pretty lazy and haven't left the house for the last 6 days. It's too cold to do anything.

    1. I'm getting some things done, but I'm spending some time being lazy too.
Spring will be here soon and yard work will start. There'll be no time for laziness then.

    1. I am looking forward to Spring. In fact I was in town today and purchased 4 packages of vegetable seeds :)

  7. It's lovely to settle down with a bit of craft or sewing on a snowy day, not that we have many of those!

    1. I'll bet that you have your share of cold rainy days; today we are having a combo of rain and snow. It's very messy outside and of course I had an appointment where I had to be out in it today :)

  8. Calling January and February the Quilting Season sounds much better than Winter. The past 2 weeks were unusually cold and snowy ( where we live) but the thermometer is showing definite improvements. There's hope for Spring.
I think the quilt pieces that you've shown are so lovely 💗

    1. Thank you. I've started working on one that I keep rearranging and trying to figure out just what I want to do . . . I plan as I go, but that's is fun to me :)

  10. You do create such lovely quilts! I love the fabrics you are using in those pictures. I don't know how to do this, and have often wished I could, but I just don't seem to have the patience for it anymore. Thank you for sharing your winter days with us. I enjoyed this. I also left you a reply to your comment on my last post in my post. Regarding the little ceiling fan/light.

  13. What would we do without our projects to keep us busy during the snowy season? I'm not a sewer, but I do enjoy my art journaling, yoga, cooking and baking. <3

  14. You make your home so cozy with your beautiful quilts. I love the colors that are bright and cheery! Stay warm! It's cold all the way to Florida today but it will warm up tomorrow! Hugs!

  15. You are so right! For me, snow days are crafting days... paper crafting that is! Also... in this climate by the coast, rain days are crafting days too! We get lots of it, but I don't mind... at least it's NOT snow! I like a little snow now and then too, and like you said, the wonderful thing about being retired, is we don't have to drive in the snow if we don't want to. Your quilt projects are so pretty as usual. You amaze me at how you have that motivation to keep quilting! My motivation has waned over the years, for sewing that is. Right now, I have a "to do" list for sewing projects and can't get myself to get out my machine! It's not as easy when you have to lug it out and set it up, and then it takes up too much room on the dining table! Oh how I love to make excuses! I have all king quilts, and now only a double bed, so want to take some and cut them down. Oh how that hurts, to cut into them, but I want to use them, and they are just too huge for a double bed. They are all store bought, so that doesn't hurt as much. I have one my sister made, that is a beautiful king lodge quilt, and I can't bear to cut it down.. but would love to use it. I may have to fold it somehow just to set it on the end of my bed or something. Any ideas? have a good week! Hugs.. Marilyn

    1. Hi Marilyn, the bed that I sleep on is a full size bed or double whichever you want to call it. I use a king size quilt or bedspread on it all the time. My bed is up high so that I have storage underneath. But the main reason I made my bed high was because of my back. Sliding out of bed at an upright position rather than lifting my back, first thing in the morning, has saved me from going to the chiropractor. The king size quilt comes down the sides and hides the storage underneath. It works great for me. If you want to try it you can buy lifts for your bed at Walmart or Amazon. Just something to think about.
