Autumn is on the way
so I thought that I would
dig out by decorations.
and jazz up the house
a bit.
This post is mostly
just photos . . .
to inspire you
to change things up.
and have fun doing it 🍂
Oh, while the man was
under the house installing
the ducting for the
A/C and Furnace
he discovered that there
was a leak in the septic lines.
🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁🍂🍁
Well when in rains it pours . . .
or
when you flush it drips.
Anyway my
Dear Sweet Great Nephew
and his Dad came over
and fixed it.
He was there early waiting
on his Dad, so he decided
to cut down a tree
that I'd mentioned (once
a while back) that I'd
love removed.
He not only cut it down,
fixed my leaking septic
by installing new pipes,
but he then cleaned it all
up and hauled it away . . .
and took the wood to his Grandpa
for the stove out in
his barn.
How wonderful to have such a sweet young man on your side! I know you hugged him back too! Love your decorations. I have some here and there too to brighten my house up!
ReplyDeleteI am truly blessed with a wonderful Sister-In-Law and her loving family. God is good and His adopted family is a blessing that I do not take for granted but cherished.
DeleteYour Fall decor is looking good.
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful great nephew you have. Glad he was able to take care of those things.
His is a treasure.
DeleteHow blessed you are Connie. What a sweet young man to take care of you so well. I'm sorry about all of the problems but very glad that you were able to get everything taken care of. Your decorations are beautiful. We need beauty in these days.
ReplyDeleteBlessings and hugs,
Betsy
Hi Betsy, it is always a pleasure to have you stop by. He is indeed a wonderful young man and I am so grateful for his love and the love of his family.
DeleteOur nation is going through some very sad days, but I believe that our dear Lord with use these situations to bring about good. Charlie had a great love and influence on the younger college age generation and I am sure that many young people are remembering things he said and the truths he spoke . . . hopefully many lives will change for the good because Charlie did not flinch from his believes.
How nice that your great nephew and his dad came by to help. That is a blessing. Your fall decorations all look lovely.
ReplyDeleteIt was a much appreciated blessing. My savings took a big hit in having to get a new A/C and Furnace and if I had to bring in a plumber it would have put me in a tuff spot. They were so kind . . . they didn't offer to do it, they insisted. I am truly blessed and loved :)
DeleteHow kind of your family to come and do thise jobs for you. Now I'm on my own, I'm finding maintenance tasks a bit of a worry. What company to get, how much will it cost, husbands always seemed to know what to do.
ReplyDeleteI have the same problems and always ask trusted friends for advice on who to hire. The A/C and new furnace was quite expensive and then when I heard I had to hire a plumber too I was beside myself, but decided to bite the bullet and call one. First I called my sister-in-law and brother-in-law to see who they would suggest. Then she got back to me and said her grandson and his dad were coming to do it for me. What a blessing that was. These are things that I never really had to think that much about, I just let Steve decide. Therefore; I know exactly what you're talking about.
DeleteThanks for sharing all the photos, you've turned your home into an autumnal wonderland! How lovely to have the help of your great nephew and his Dad.
ReplyDeleteLiz xx
Thanks and yes it was a marvelous blessing.
DeleteI always love when you post. You are such a giver. It is wonderful to have those looking out for you. Your talent is amazing. May God continue His blessings on you.
ReplyDeleteYou are so sweet, thank you.
DeleteI love the profile pic of you and your husband! What a blessing family can and they make all the difference. Seems like I recognize the photo of you two....perhapsI have followed you before. I need to make sure I am following you now.
ReplyDeleteI think we each follow each other, but have lost contact through the years. When I saw the photo of you and your husband, I thought, those are our kind of people. You look so sweet and loving together.
DeleteHow wonderful that you have that young man in your life!
ReplyDeleteHe's a blessing in deed.
DeleteBeautiful fall decorations, I need to get mine out, with the temps in the 90's this week it is hard to think of Autumn.
ReplyDeleteSorry to hear of the trouble you had, but so thankful you have great family who are helping you out, such a blessing :)
We have been having cool nights and warm days, but that's about to change and the warm days will only be a memory. Until next spring of course.
DeleteI married into a wonderful loving family 🥰
How wonderful to have loving, helpful, willing family members. What would we do without them? As we get older we need help from time to time.
ReplyDeleteYour Autumn decorations are so lovely, especially your mantel 🍂 🍂 🍂 🍂 🍂 🍂
Thank you. I don't decorate as much as I use to, but it's fun to recognize the seasons and bring them in to the decor. As far as family, I married into a wonderful family and I am truly blessed.
DeleteWhat a lovely young man to help you out so well. It's starting to feel a bit fall-ish here now, but I haven't done any decorating. I did do a thorough house clean which felt very satisfying.
ReplyDeleteStill no fall fell in San Antonio area. I so love your posts. You are one talented woman.
ReplyDeleteThat's so sweet, thank you.
DeleteOh yes autumn.. it comes even if we're not ready for it! Your decorating is beautiful. Love your wreath on your fireplace mantel and all the leaves here and there, and the little red truck. When did that become a definite sign of autumn? Some person/designer sure came up with a good idea when that happened!! I have a sack full of Fall decor I bought while up in Asotin, WA a month ago, when it was 105 degrees there! but still was looking forward to some decorating in my house. I don't normally go all out, but do like a few pops of the colors that are so beautiful. I also just bought some orange "Halloween" lights at a store, but will use right away from my covered porch and Autumn theme out there. Maybe I'll even decorate it a little bit too. How lucky and blessed you are to have such a wonderful great nephew! He sounds like a very thoughtful young man and how good for you to know there is someone there who's got your back. Nothing better than that! I have 6 great nephews! All are quite young so I have alot of years to wait for help from them. One is 10 though, so if I survive another 8 years, then maybe that nice 18 yr year old young man can help me out (though he right now lives in Florida!). The other 3 live closer, but won't be helping age for another 15 years! My one nephew who lives about 2 hours away, could at some point, be a big help if I need him! Glad you got the tree cut down you wanted down, and the leak fixed under your house! God brings Them for us when we are in need! Take care...hugs and love....xoxoxo Marilyn
ReplyDeleteI am truly blessed!
DeleteWhen I married my dear Steve I inherited his lovely family as well 🥰
So happy to hear you had such wonderful, kind help! We have a private well, but not septic. (We have community sewer.) I hate having a well as it is...I would love to move somewhere where we don't have to rely on this, but I don't know if that'll ever happen. I've spent so much time looking online at houses not only in IL where we live now, but Michigan, Wisconsin, and Tennessee. Everything is so darn expensive right now! And it's hard to find a one-level house, no basement (that's what we want), but with a 2 car garage. My husband doesn't want to move, but I'm finding the long, steep staircase going into our basement, not so fun to navigate, now that we're getting older. Also, our young adult son who lives with us, fell down those steps last week! Thank goodness he was not seriously hurt. Just bruised and sore. Anyway...I love your fall decor! I've just now started getting a few things out. I'm not quite in the mood yet. Still celebrating summer. And it feels like it here, too. It's been in the 80's again and will be all week.
ReplyDeleteIt's been warm here too, but Fall officially starts next week.
DeleteI've also been looking at real estate thinking about downsizing to a smaller yard, but I so do love my place and really hate thinking about living in a community where I can reach out and almost touch my neighbor's house or hear their conversations while I'm out in my backyard trying to just have a quiet restful evening.
I love the sunflower pic over the mantel♥A blessing to have your nephew give you a hand. Sounds like a gem♥
ReplyDeleteThank you, the sunflower picture is actually a quilt I made for fall decorating.
DeleteI haven't decorated yet, Connie. Been buys getting new floors put in and having the entire downstairs painted...whew... almost done!
ReplyDeleteThat's a lot of work, but it will be wonderful to start the Fall season with a fresh new remodel :)
DeleteAh, great nephews are wonderful! We dont really decorate here for Autumn but I love to see the USA decorations.
ReplyDeleteI am blessed with this wonderful young man, and I'm delighted that you stopped by to visit. I've been a shut in for the last week with a head and chest cold, but I've been catching up on "Escape To The Country" and enjoying your beautiful country side :)
