Our Crafty Woodworkin' Best Ever Grandpa!

My darlin' husband is a terrific woodworker
and a very handy man to have around the house.
After our granddaughters were born
he started pondering on just what he could make each
of them in his workshop.  He wanted something that would bring them joy and that would be something
that they would want to keep and pass on to their children,
long after their Grandpa was gone.

For our first granddaughter's second birthday,
her present from Grandpa Steve was this motorcycle rocker.
Steve put many hours of planning, building  and love
 into this gift.
I think it shows, not only in the craftsmanship
but also in the last photo in this post,
of the Wow look our sweetie's face.

Our second granddaughter's present was this beautifully
built kitchen.

Many a pretend cake has been baked
in this little oven.

Look inside at the details ( not solid shelves,
but wooden dowles to give it a real frig and oven feel).
Grandpa planned this out with lots of love.
I think the end results speak for themselves.

 Best Grandpa Ever!

Here is our little two year old motorcycle baby.
Does she look excited to you?

I guess you can tell that I'm pretty proud of my sweet Hubby,
he's a keeper!

  12. Hi Connie - I saw this yesterday but didn't have a chance to leave a comment (still unpacking!). I thought it was the most beautiful woodwork I had ever seen - that is a rare talent your husband has. I love the way he has used different types of wood and blended them together so well - it is stunning! I wish I had one myself!

Thanks also for your lovely comment about my new home - Sharon

    1. Steve puts a lot of pride in his work. He thinks that it might be something he would like to do after he retires, and maybe see how they would sell at the summer market. As for now, he enjoys makeing gifts for loved ones, and we sure do enjoy receiving them. Thanks for your sweet comment. Good luck with your unpacking. Unpack the CD player first and put some good music on . . . always makes the work more fun. Have a great day! Connie

    1. Thank you so much for dropping in to visit. Also, thank you for deciding to follow my blog. I appreciate each follower and consider all of you as friends. I so enjoy meeting other creative women and seeing what each one is up too. Sometimes I get caught up in all the news of the world, and all the terrible things that are going on in the world, but no one talks about all the kind and loving people in this world. That's what I see from blogging, I see kindhearted people, people with families, people making their world beautiful through their art, and people sharing, praying, caring about others. That's the news I enjoy. Thanks to you and all my blogging friends, this is what I now see as "world news". And my days are a little bit brighter because of it! Thank you, Connie

On our way out to the car, I was holding her hand in the parking lot and she gave my hand a little squeeze, looked up at me and said, "Grandma Connie, I just love it when it's just Abbey and Grandma time". Well, it totally melted my heart. Being a grandma is such a blessing. Thanks for stopping in for a visit, and do come again. Your friend, Connie

    1. Hi! I'm so glad that you stumbled across my blog. It gave me a chance to go to yours and read your delightful informative post on Pancake Tuesday. I scrolled down your front page and was very impressed. So, now you have a new follower. Thank you for the sweet comments. Yes, my husband is quite the craftsman; one day I'll post photos of the cedar strip boat that he built. Thank you, for visiting, I hope you'll return . . . I'll be looking at your pinboard on paper-dolls. Are you old enough to remember the page of paper-dolls that came in McCall's magazine of, Betsy McCall. I used to get so excited when Mom's issue would arrive and could hardly wait until she was done with it and I could cut out the paper-doll page. Have a great day, and come again, Connie
