Pop-Up Angel Christmas Card

If you are like me and you enjoy making
your own Christmas cards,
then you know that you have to get a head start.
 I am a fan of pop-up cards.
I have not gotten into elaborate pop-ups, but I do have fun
with simple ones.  I hope you enjoy this card.

This is a photo of the materials I used.
The most important is the cut-out angel, because
 it is my pop-up feature.
It can be anything you want it to be . . .
as long as you can fold it into a 45 degree angle.

First make a fold through the center.

Then fold it in half and proceed to crease it
again into a 45 degree angle.
On my angel I had to be careful not to include her head in my fold.
(You do not need this scoring tool, you can fold it by hand.
I just have it, so i used it)

This closer shot will show the angel’s folds better.

The little vintage girl on the outside of my card comes from
The Graphics Fairy

The skirt is made by cutting petals of sheer fabric
and using the candle method of curling the fabric.
This idea I got from Carol at The Polka Dot Closet.
Here is a link to her tutorial.

I hope that you have as much fun as I do making your own cards.
I believe that my friends and family enjoy the homemade goodness
and the love that goes into these cards.
Have a wonderful day . . .
Have a little fun . . .
Go into your craft area and make something
I love you all,
Connie

    1. Hi Trisha, I think that you would love making your owe cards . . . you have so many soft and romantic ideas, that would compliment a lovely shabby Victorian card. You know, back then all the cards were homemade using, ribbons, buttons, lace, paper dollies, etc . . . It fits your lovely blog to a tee.
      Have a great day.

    3. Hi Kerin . . . I know that when I get a homemade card . . . I treasure it and I'm sure that they do, too. My granddaughters are always making me pretty pictures and cards and nothing makes a day more sweet, than walking to the mailbox and finding a special handwritten envelope among all the bills and junk mail :)

      Have a great day,
      Your blogging sister, Connie :)

  8. Hi Connie!
What a delightful post! You are so very talented and helpful. Your tutorial is wonderful and you make it look so easy. I am a novice at card making...I once attended a Stampers weekend retreat and managed to only make one card. (Too much visiting and eating, I'm afraid!)
Thank you for visiting my blog and for your thoughtful comments. I am so appreciative.
I love the hope fulled message that you attached to all your Christmas cards...We all need to hear that message of hope these days more than ever.
    Blessings, my new friend,
    Carolynn xo
