A Book Lover's Gift

Recycled book pages
become a great gift for
any friend that loves a good book.

I cut a circle from foam-core.
Rolled book pages into very tight cones.
Made my collage pictures from black and white photo clips.

Next came the magic of the hot glue gun.

I also used a touch of Walnut ink on the edges
of the cones and the photos,
just to give it a little extra pizzazz :)

If you are having a frugal Christmas,
never under estimate the power of a green recycled gift.

Green is in & handmade is special.

It is the thought that counts :)

Merry Christmas

Connie :)

Check out my Give-Away
Details are on the Dec. 11th post.
To enter all you have to do is:
Be A Follower & Leave A Comment.
(on this post or any post after this until the drawing date of 1/1/13)

each new comment raises your chances to win :)

P.S.   I will not put this long of a date on my next give-away . . .
It has been a struggle not to go a head and draw a name . . .
but I believe in doing what you say and 1/1/13 was the date I started with.
I've decided a week is plenty long enough.
I can not wait to see who wins.
Sorry  . . . for the long period of time :(

    1. Hi Daniela . . . I know, and it is very hard to destroy a book . . .but once in a while you get one that is just not good reading . . . so I say, save it for up-cycling.

    1. Hello Diana, thank you . . . I have been thinking about your jello cake all day. It is just Steve and I this Christmas, so I'm trying to convince myself that it is okay to bake a cake. I can be a huge sugar consumer if I don't watch myself . . . so do I need the temptation? I feel like the cartoon character with the angel on one shoulder and the devil on the other . . . and then I think, "It's Christmas, enjoy"! I'm not sure yet what I'll be doing :)
      Merry Christmas
      Good luck on the give-away
