I walked out into the backyard Sunday morning to feed the squirrel
&
this is what I saw.
Our own little winter wonderland :)
I'm not a huge fan of snow,
but I have to admit
it is BEAUTIFUL.
This is our little pond, it's not big enough for skating,
well, unless you're a little snow fairy.
I'll have to keep my eye peeled and watch for them.
Maybe I'll get a photo:)
Aren't the trees lovely.
This is the gate to our side yard.
I purchased that piece of ornate metal at a yard sale,
and Steve incorporated it into our gate.
He's such a sweetie pie :)
and very handy to have around.
Even the clothesline looks beautiful
encrusted with soft fluffy snow :)
I hope you enjoyed my little backyard tour.
I thought that some of my warm area sisters,
just might like a the taste of winter here in the Pacific Northwest.
Happy Holidays.
Your blogging sister, Connie

ReplyDeleteHi, I know . . . these photos were Sunday and this morning (Tuesday) it is all melted away. We had a very windy south wind all day yesterday. In our part of the country, they say, "If you don't like the weather, just wait a few hours and it will change", LOL.
DeleteThanks for stopping by and visiting.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
It does look so pretty, Connie! I love looking at snow myself; not so much the driving in it. : ) We are forecasted to get some snow Thursday night/Friday. It will be nice to look at for a bit, but then I hope it melts since I have to pick up my son from the airport Saturday!

HI Connie, well what a lovely post to awaken to after a steaming hot night and temps predicted today for 43c..typical Aussie summer but the funny thing is that we have 2 or 3 stinkers and then a lovely cool day,Mother Nature is playing funny tricks.
ReplyDeleteYOur snow looks so beautiful, and makes a hot old body feel cool just looking at it.
Hello Carole, Well I wish that I could tie a big red ribbon around some of this snow and send it your way. Then you could lay in it and make your own snow angel for Christmas. I've put your name in the hat. good luck :)
DeleteYour blogging sister, Connie :)

Hi Sarah, It is so nice to hear from you.
DeleteMerry Christmas and good luck on the give-away.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
Hello Connie! We have yet to have our first snow in Ohio. The Temps have been warmer that normal. I LOVE,LOVE the SNOW!!Not ICE! Your backyard is so lovely....beautiful trees, arbor and pond, and all the things for NATURE! Thank you for such a pretty post...a true winter wonderland! God just amazes me with all the beauty he created! Merry Christmas to you and Steve.....Under the circumstances in CT., our NATION is in mourning, but may this be a special time for families like never before....from one sweetie to another~~~Roxie
ReplyDeleteHi Roxie. What a sweet comment. Yes, our Lord has a way of making all things beautiful and a new snow fall is just one of them. We do not know why this terrible thing happened, but we need to use it as a reminder to love one another and never let a angry minute or an forgiveness separate us from the ones we love . . . no even for a minute. Life and love are so precious.
DeleteGod bless you and your family and have a very merry Christmas.
Connie :)
We got our first snow yesterday. Today it's gone due to it being 40 and raining out. Strange. Great pics!
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy that you like my photos. It was a lovely sight to wake to :)
DeleteSo pretty and magical! x
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteHi Connie,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos! I bet I would love to sit in your backyard and read a book (not when there's snow). I wonder if we got hit with the same storm..... we are so overdue.
Thanks for visiting. Now I'm going to check out your giveaway!!
Hugs,
Kay
Hi Kay, You are welcome to sit in my backyard anytime you travel this way.
DeleteGood luck on the give-away.
Happy Holidays.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
Oh Connie how lovely your garden looks. So pretty and as you say just in time for Christmas. I'm really hoping we get some snow too as its so magical at this time of year.
ReplyDeletePatricia x
Hi Patricia, here's wishing you a White Christmas :)
DeleteJust looking at it cools me down. We are melting in the heat here in SE Queensland. The other day it reached 38 degrees Celsius (not sure of the conversion but close to 100 F if memory serves)and it is already in the mid-twenties today at 8 am! Thanks for the tour of your winter wonderland.
ReplyDeleteHi Carolyn, Anytime the heat is getting you down, just come over and view this post. If I could I would let you through the gate to roll in the snow and make a snow angel:)
DeleteMerry Christmas.
Connie :)
Your backyard is truly a winter wonderland! Thanks for sharing with us warm weather folks :o)
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.
Always, Queenie
Hi Queenie, you are very welcome to come play in my snowy backyard anytime your choose :)
Deleteyour snow pics are just beautiful! have a merry christmas and wonderful new year:)
ReplyDeleteHi Lyn, and thank you. Wishing you a very Merry Christmas, too :)
DeleteWhat beautiful photos of the snow in your garden! We're wintering in FL and will spend Christmas in Virginia with our oldest son and his family; but I really do miss the snow from back home in MI. These photos are almost telling me to stay home next winter. I know, crazy huh!
ReplyDeleteHi Carol, not crazy at all. Maybe next year, just go to Florida after Christmas :)
DeleteGet the best of both . . . a White Christmas and then a walk on the beach :)
Merry Christmas.
What a wonderful photographer you are, Connie. That is close to as much snow as I have seen in my lifetime. Twice in 50 years it has snowed more than 12 inches here. Usually we just get a light frosting. Here today and gone tomorrow. I love the silence that comes with it.
ReplyDeleteGosh Donna, you have made my day . . . I am delighted that you like my shots :)
DeleteGood luck with the give-away.
Merry Christmas,
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
Hi Connie...thanks for the cool comments. Your winter wonderland is awesome. We have no snow for Christmas, very unusual for us. I love your ornate metal gate piece! Just the kind of thing I like to do!
ReplyDeleteHappy holidays to you and yours...Janet
Hi Janet, that piece of ornate metal was just laying in a heap at a yard sale a few years ago. I didn't know what we would do with it when I brought it home, but . . . my motto is, if you love it and it's cheap . . . then buy it and bring it home. Well, it is wonderful as a little added feature in our gate. Which my Steve made, by the way. I usually draw out what I want and he does the rest. I think we make a great team . . . we've had 36 years to perfect our teamwork :)
DeleteMerry Christmas
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
Your snow pictures are so pretty! I love the look of snow--goes with my love of white :) Looks so clean and refreshing. I'm In Cornelius (an hour out of Portland) and we keep getting a tiny bit and then it melts. I'm wanting to take some pretty pictures like yours!

ReplyDeleteI'm not a cold weather girl but when it snows I'm in heaven. Your snow pictures are so beautiful!!!
Merry Christmas!
Dee
Good Morning Dee, How sweet it is to sit here with my morning coffee and be welcomed by friends like you. I get least fond of cold weather as each new year does it's work on my older body, but fresh snow is still a beautiful thing. I may not rush out to make a snowman anymore, but I do enjoy shoveling the sidewalk. Steve rarely gets a turn, because I beat him to it. A gal's got to get some exercise in the winter months, LOL.
DeleteI'm delighted that you like my photos.
Good luck on the give-away.
Merry Christmas
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
What beautiful scenes. I love snow, it hides all the dirt. Merry Christmas!
ReplyDeleteHi Melanie, it certainly does, LOL

So pretty. I love the snow to look at, walk with the dog, play snowballs with the kids etc. I just hate driving in it! Thank you for your comment on my blog. I agree we can support each other we our savings and weight loss. Well done on that amazing 50lb loss earlier in the year, I am really impressed xxx
ReplyDeleteHi Fran . . . it is not that impressive that I gained 20 back, LOL
DeleteAt least I can laugh at myself and start over. I was feeling so good and having much more energy . . . so that is my goal . . . just to get that 20 back off. As we get older, it takes a lot more work, my old body does not burn fuel like it used too.
Good luck on the give-away.
Merry Christmas.
Your blogging sister, Connie

DeleteGood luck on the give-away.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
Oh your pictures are gorgeous. You are a great photographer ! Thanks for your comments. Still snowing here. The fireplace is 29 feet high and I picked out every single rock that went into it. It goes into the hall and around the corner into the den where there is a second fireplace.Upstairs in the master bedroom is a adobe type fireplace with rocks surrounding the opening. I pack packed all of those rocks off of Kettle Falls Mountain. That was 23 years ago. I love fireplaces and so did my father. I really was crazy 23 years ago. It took three trips up and down that mtn. LOL Have a happy holiday.
ReplyDeleteHi Sharon, what a wonderful story . . . all that crazy hard work paid off because look at your home. It is incredible and so much nicer than someone who just hired a crew to build it for them. You have a wonderful memory and you should be very proud. Your fireplace is amazing.
DeleteGood luck on the give-away and
Merry Christmas
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
Very pretty...I always love the first snow of the season.
ReplyDeleteHi Pat, it is so nice to see you and yes, that first snow is magical . . . remember as a kid . . . how hard it was to sit in your seat at school when you could see that first snow falling out the window.
DeleteGood luck on the give-away.

Your blogging sister, Connie :)
It is beautiful and it is all I want for Christmas! Unfortunately here it is not cold at all anymore. ENjoy while it lasts! Christa PS. The photos are gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteWow! I always thought you had snow in Switzerland . . . must be in,just some areas. Like here in the USA we have states with winter snow and states where it never snows.
DeleteGood luck on the give-away.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
What beautiful pictures! Here in Iowa. we are braving a blizzard...snowfall of 12+ inches...cold and windy and I see the Des Moines Register reported there are 36,000 without electricity..YIKES!
ReplyDeleteOh, winter storms are no fun at all :(
DeleteWe would be in trouble if our electricity went out . . . except for the BBQ's outside, we are totally electric.
Good luck on the give away.
Merry Christmas
Your blogging sister, Connie
Very beautiful! Are you guys going to be getting some more over the next few days? We are supposed to. I really like how you used the rounded corners on your pictures in this post; very nice.
ReplyDeleteKathy M.
Hi Kathy, I'm delighted that you like my photos and how I chose to soften the edges. This first snow melted the next day, but we have had another since then. I was downtown yesterday and these huge flakes where falling . . . I didn't have much to do yesterday so I spend a little time window shopping and enjoying the snow. There is just something about snow and Christmas that makes me all giddy inside, and "it's a wonderful life"-y. LOL.
DeleteMerry Christmas
Good luck on the give-away.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)

Merry Christmas
Good luck on the give away.
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
It's lovely to see your snow photos, especially as it looks like we're not going to have a white Christmas over here. It's been raining for days with more on the way.
ReplyDeleteSounds like you are not singing, "I'm Dreaming Of A Wet Christmas", but getting one anyway. It's a good time to cozy up to the fire with a pot of hot tea. I'm delighted that you like my photos. Come here at look, when you are in the mood for snow :)
DeleteGood luck on the give-away
Your blogging sister, Connie :)
Hi Connie,
ReplyDeleteA whimsical winter wonderland, indeed! I love the branches, they remind me of reindeer antlers, standing still, sleeping perhaps, while frosty snowflakes cover them in a powdery blanket of snow!
Wishing you a very happy Christmas!
Poppy
Hello Poppy,
DeleteThat was very poetic, I could close my eyes and see the sleeping reindeer :)
You are a sweet friend,

Claire x
Hi Claire, it is very pretty . . . poor Butchy he still likes walking to the mailbox, but his little tummy gets mighty cold from the snow. Even when he's wearing his little doggy sweater.
DeleteGood luck on the give-away, Connie :)
