Put A Hat On :)

Put a hat on your head . . . and feel like a queen.

It's funny how dressed up you feel
when you're wearing a hat.

And it's a great way to camouflage  a bad hair day.

Do we look or do we see?
Seeing is really taking the time to look at something with more intensity.

(these are all doodled ladies from my journal,
I hope you like them)

Bloom where you are planted.
If you are feeling a bit like a wilted blossom,
do something . . .sometimes a re-do is nothing more than
getting out the hot curlers and putting on a little lipstick,
or digging to the back of your closet and getting out that pretty blouse that you are always saving for a special occasion . . .
today is a special occasion :)

 ~~~~~~~~~~~
Live it and live it well!
~~~~~~~~~~~
Remember you are never fully dressed without a smile,
So, smile and have a great day!

Your blogging sister, Connie :)

  1. Hi Connie . . . I just popped over to see if you ever got your blog working again. I hope that you can get the post that you were trying to post working. This one is pretty cool :) but I know you were having a lot of trouble posting today.
    Sometimes things just fix themselves so hang in there.

  5. Connie- You are amazingly talented----and wise! Your "doodles" are much more than doodles-they are pure works of art. Wish I could doodle like that. You are so right about not saving your "best" for a special occasion. TODAY IS that day! xo Diana

    1. Hi Diana, how many times do we save something in the back of the closet, and then when the time comes where it is perfect, we forget it's in there, or we have gained or lost weight and it doesn't fit.
      Keep Smiling, and thanks so much for your friendship . . . you are a sweetie pie :)

    1. Hello, thank you for your lovely comment. I do wish you an early spring. It sounds like you might be looking forward to warm weather. I know that I am. Our snow has melted and we have been seeing the sun for the last week . . . spring is on the way :)

  9. Hello Connie! Your drawings are great! I love your ladies. And always thought provoking too! I found it interesting when I first started carrying my camera around with me how it really opened my eyes!

    Today is a beautiful day here (seeing your comment above) - our snow has almost melted except high on the mountains, which is just the way I like it! I actually painted my toenails this morning and thought I'd go out in my sandals but it's still a bit too chilly for that!

    Hugs,
    Kay

    1. Hi Kay, I love it . . . it's a good day when you feel like painting your toe nails. Spring is on the way :)
      There is a magic about looking through the lens of a camera, you start seeing more beauty in ordinary objects. It's a great tool to help us open up to the magnificent world around us :)

  12. Dear Connie, I love wearing hats but really don't get the chance to wear them. Lipstick on the other hand, well I never leave the house without wearing it. It lifts me and gives me confidence and I feel good. Love your doodle ladies they are so cool. Smiles breed smiles.

    1. Hi Patricia, you are so right about smiles breeding smiles . . . We of course feel better when we smile, but what happens is when we get smiled at it also lifts are spirits. Therefore; every-time we give away a smile, we help lift the other person :) It creates a wonderful circle :)

  13. Clever!! The ladies you drew without hats do not look as happy as the ones with hats! Kind of sad to me that ladies always used to wear hats and gloves to church...now we are lucky if some don't wear shorts.

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi Ginny, I have mixed feeling about that. One is that I think that church should be a place where we come in our best, as a sign of respect. Then the other is that it doesn't matter . . . the important thing is attending and being feed, watered and loved. I would rather see a person in shorts, than an empty seat :) I'm sure that you feel the same way . . . it is just not the way we were raised.

  15. Evening Connie! I needed to read this....I've been going CRAZY BUSY these last 3-4 weeks and not much time for myself and appearance. I can't wait to get this move over so I can focus on looking better. (my poor hubby) Gray roots, hair up in a knot, sweat pants and sweat shirts(not the cute kind...the working kind..LOL!) This is a GREAT pick-me-upper post, my dear friend...the LORD knew just what I needed to hear!! Have a wonderful and blessed week! Roxie

    1. Hi Roxie, we have lived in our home for over 25 years. I can not imagine how hard moving would be. I hope I never have to do it. If we can live out our days here, then we can leave all that work of moving everything out to our daughter, LOL.

    1. Hi Donna, and thank you so much . . . I keep my journal on the table next to my chair in the family-room. That way, I can be with my Steve and be doing something creative at the same time. I miss a lot in the TV programs, but I don't care . . . making art (any kind) is my passion :)

    2. I've journaled in my chair while watching TV but I haul all the supplies from the studio into the living room. I need to leave a journal and supplies next to my chair! Thanks for the inspiration Connie.

  23. Good Morning Connie, I love your "doodled" ladies and yes I agree a hat hides a "bad hair day". During the winter I tend to wear a beret, so even if my hair isn't as neat and tidy as it should be, I still look presentable with my beret on my head when I go shopping.
    I have to say, if you were to publish the picture of the two ladies... "Put a hat on your head" on a note card, I would certainly buy them as they are fabulous.
    Have a lovely day.
    Best Wishes
