I was honored last week to find out that I was one of the winners at
Prayer Notes By Cynthia
http://prayernotesbycynthia.blogspot.com/
This lovely coaster arrived in my mail box.
It is too pretty to set a cup of coffee on
and hide it, so decided to make a stand of it.
We all know the Lord's Prayer.
A few years ago it stopped me dead in my tracks.
The part about God forgiving us as we forgive others.
I realized that I truly did not want the Lord to forgive me
as I had forgiven others,
I wanted Him to forgive me much more than that.
That was the day that changed my life for the better.
That was a day that I touched the heart of God.
I have known some very mean people in my life,
people that have hurt me . . .and on purpose.
I have also had people that have hurt me,
without ever realizing what they had done.
But, that day was the last day that I held on to that hurt.
That day I completely forgave them . . .each and every one of them. . .
And I was set Free.
And it feels so GOOD:)
That is why I did not what to hide this prayer under my coffee cup.
Instead I will set it in a place to remind me of the
joy we find, when we listen and obey.
Thank you Cynthia . . . your little work of art is a treasure.
If you have never visited Cynthia's blog
here's the link again.
She is a sweetheart.

ReplyDeleteThank You :)
DeleteHow it fills my heart with joy reading your post! I know exactly how it feels to forgive the ones that once in your life hurt you really bad. It really sets you free! For real! And it does not only set you free, but you can start to love them with the love of the Lord and you can start praying for them. It's a true miracle :). And only God can do it! :)

That is so true :)

ReplyDeleteHi . . . it is wonderful to see you :) Happy valentine's day.
DeleteThat is a heart touching story and wanted to tell you I have experienced the same. You did a wonderful job on displaying your prize.
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy, it is so wonderful that we don't have to walk alone through this life . . .
DeleteHe's always there to guide us :)
Congrats on winning such a lovely gift. I like the way you chose to display it.
ReplyDeleteThank you Beth.
DeleteWhat a wonderful story!!!! Not only is unforgiveness ungodly, but it really hurts us and eats away at our nerves and health. You made something beautiful and just right for the beautiful prayer.
ReplyDeleteHi Ginny, thank you . . . and you are so right about forgiveness.
DeleteHappy Valentine's day
Congratulations, Connie! I LOVE the stand that you made, it is wonderful and beautiful.
ReplyDeleteAs I was reading what you wrote about the Lord's prayer, I thought "That is what happened to me this year!!!!" I kept saying the Lord's prayer when I was frustrated, and that part kept jumping out at me. I was able to forgive, and it did set me free. Now, I am noticing that because I am no longer carrying hurt and anger within, those who already loved me are responding to me more positively also. I see it on FB (friends and family) and on my blog (more comments and more followers). Thanks for posting this today ... I am reading it on Valentine's Day. It is easy to love those you like, but hard to show love to those you don't. Forgiveness sure helps in the latter dept.
Hope you have the very best day, Connie!
Kathy M.
Hi Kathy, isn't the Lord wonderful. All He wants is our cooperation . . . and when we comply He's waiting to bless us, and I can not think of a better blessing than freedom :)
DeleteWhat a lovely post Connie, thanks for sharing your story! Your project is gorgeous, I love the display of the Lord's Prayer! Thanks so much for visiting my blog! To answer your question on die cutting with felt, I use either Sizzix dies or Papertrey Ink dies with my Bigkick, both dies will cut through felt. I don't think felt would work in a Cricut though but I have used a lightweight chipboard before using the deep cut blade. Hope you have a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteHi Annette, thank you for this information. I would like to try fabric . . . maybe if I starched it good first . . . but I do not want to have it get stuck in the machine. So, maybe I'll not try . . . time will tell :)
DeleteHappy Valentine's Day.
Hi Connie!
ReplyDeleteI love the stand you created for the coaster! Thank you, for sharing my work with your audience. You are a great blogger-friend. Your story touches my heart. In fact, my business came about out of hurt. I just got fed-up with the politics in education, and decided to open my shop. The rest is history and I haven't looked back! Blessings, Connie!
Hi Cynthia, thank you for this sweet visit, and thank again for the coaster. :)
DeleteHi Connie,
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful post. Yes, there are people that hurt me too and it's been difficult to totally forgive, although my heart has gotten softer as the years have passed. You've given me a new determination to absolutely forgive!
The stand you gave for your coaster is perfect!
Hugs,
Kay

It is great to see you here . . . thank you :)
DeleteGorgeous! I wish I were as creative as you are Connie.
ReplyDeleteIt is so hard to forgive those who have hurt us, but I truly believe it is even harder to forgive ourselves. Least for me it is.
Have a great weekend!
Hi, Terri, so good to have you visit. I hope that you are having a great weekend :)
DeleteAmen, Connie! I love how you made a whimsical display for your gift. And a beautiful post about what it all means too. Yes, that one little sentence so often gets overlooked and it may be the most life-transforming one of all in many ways.
ReplyDeleteHello Sara, you are so right . . . when we told on to unforgiveness, it buries us alive :(
