I thought that I would share a few photos from our 4th of July.
We had a beautiful day for sailing :)
Ha, Ha, Ha, doesn't he look like a tuffy in that shirt :)
Do I look happy?
I love the refection in the wood. Steve did a great job on those hatches.
This is her home for the summer. It is only a ten minute drive from home :)
If you celebrate the 4th of July . . . I hope your holiday was great. If you are from somewhere else in this big wide world, well, I hope that your weekend is blessed with pure enjoyment.
Connie- She's a beauty and how nice that she is that close to your house! YOU look very happy. He looks like a retired bully in that shirt! lol Have a wonderful weekend- xo Diana
Hello Di, thanks for visiting. I got a little bit too much sun a couple days before this sail, so I was well saturated in sunscreen while we were out on the lake. Thanks for the lovely compliment, we put a lot of work into her and we think she is a beauty, too :)
Hi Nancy, I bought that tee shirt for Steve last year when we vacationed in Florida with his brother. Ever since they were kids they have had this friendly war over which one of them is always right, LOL. So, that tee seemed like a fun shirt to wear when they were together.
Hi Valerie, We had a great day on the water, then this afternoon we are going to a retirement party for Steve's sister and brother-in-law. It should be a family fun day. Thanks so much for visiting. Love your word birds:)
Hi Ginny, it is always a pleasure getting a visit from you. If you lived closer we would just have to take you out for a sail :) You are a sweetie pie.
Hello Jo, it is lovely to have you visit, I adore your beautiful blog. Thanks for the sweet compliment. Steve and I were hooked the first time we sailed together. It was on a friends old boat, about 35 years ago. Once you get bit by the sailing bug, there is no going back to motors :)
You, Steve And Gypsy Rose all look like you are having such fun. She is so beautiful (and so are you of course), far more so than the plastic bots moored up alongside. Hope you have enjoyed your weekend xxx
Dear Connie, I'd like to congratulate you and Steve on a wonderful job and a beautiful boat! The pictures are lovely, as the day you went sailing. The Gypsy Rose is a pearl and you and Steve are pearls too :). Thank you for showing those sunny pictures from your trip! Have a blessed new week. Maria
Hi Maria, it is always a pleasure getting a visit from you. It was a beautiful day, wasn't it, we had a lovely time on the water. I'm delighted that you enjoyed the photos.
She's a beauty, and so are you! I'm proud of you two for working so hard and getting her up and running in the timeline that you set for yourselves. Many happy hours of sailing to you and Steve this summer and many more in the future.
Fantastic!! I commented earlier on Steve's blog, as you know. You two are quite the dynamic duo - this beauty has sprung to life again under your tender care. I see a summer of smiles and sunshine ahead on beautiful Gypsy Rose. Congratulations on your launch. Be safe.
Hi Melanie, On launch day Steve had not had the boat in the water longer than 10 minutes when a ski boat came up to him and the man yelled over, "That is the prettiest little boat I have ever seem". How's that for instant gratification? Then we sailed downtown on the 4th and circled the fountain by the main thoroughfare and cars were slowing down and pointing and waving. We also had people that lived along the lake coming down taking photos. Around here all the boats are plastic, if you know what I mean, so she certainly stays out :) She's our little gem and we feel blessed to have found her. Have a lovely weekend and again I want to praise you on your painted pants make over, those are awesome.
Hi Patricia, Thank you and yes we will. It's Thursday afternoon and I'm planning a surprise picnic dinner tomorrow to eat on the boat. When Steve get's home from work and says "whats for dinner", I'll hand him the picnic basket and say put on some short pants, because we are going sailing :)
