Playing With My Paint Brushes

I had a day of getting funky with paint.

The other day I was out in Steve's shop and he has four stools that he doesn't use.
Oh, maybe to set a can of paint on,
but mostly they were just taking up space.

So, I adopted two of them and gave them a makeover.

Remember they were old shop stools, so they were full of imperfections.
Kind of like me :)
Notice the corner of this one,
it had a burned edge that was kind of messed up.
I'm going to use it on the porch,
as a place to set a cold drink or a jar of flowers.

While I was painting  . . .
I gave my porch table a red coat of paint, too.

It is really red . . . but the first coat looked like hot pink :)

This is the other stool . . .
I'm going to use it in my studio :)

This stool was so much fun to paint :)

I didn't plan it or try to make it perfect . . .
it's a little bit wacky and cockeyed,
But it's fun!

How can I not be creative sitting on this.
 Right?

Well, that's it . . .
I'm staying busy and getting a lot done.

Is there a smile on my face?
Of course there is . . .

Here's wishing you a week filled with
happy times and lots of things to smile about.

Your blogging sister,
Connie :)

    1. Hi Ann, thank you! Actually I did the top of that table two years ago with a circle of plywood. I make the stencils for the lettering with my Cricket Cutter :) I use it more for making stencils than for scrape-booking, LOL.

    1. Good Morning Gill, I just love paint. Last year Lowe's was having a half price sale on their premium samples. So, for $1.50 you could buy a pot of paint. Those little pots go a long way, too. I purchased around a dozen different colors (all bright and cheery). if I catch the sale again this year, I think I'll do the same only purchase neutrals and pastels. They give you a lot of decorating on a budget options :)

You did a fabulous job of giving those items a huge dose of cuteness, and charm.

What fun to let your creativity go free, and make such fun accent pieces.

  16. Hey Connie!!!! So glad you stopped by! Are you a Constance? So we do have a few things in common besides our name. I used to live in the Pacific Northwest. I'm originally from Montana so when I saw the cowgirl hat and the guitar I KNEW I had a soul sister. You are far more crafty than I am so I can't wait to be inspired!!!! Love, Connie*

    1. Hello Connie, I am so happy to see that you are following my blog. I love making new friends. No, I am not a Constance, although for a short time in my teenage years, I wanted to be called Constance . . . I thought it sounded so sophisticated, LOL. Silly the ideas we get in our heads when we are young :) I've lived in the Pacific Northwest for 40 years, but I am originally from Indiana. I'm retired and loving life :)
I'm adding you to my sidebar blog-list, so that I'll know when you post again :) Keep Smiling :)

    1. Hi Angie, well, some of my paint was sample jars from Lowe's and some were those little bottles of craft paint that you can buy at WalMart or a hobby shop. I used all sizes of brushes and just had so much fun getting silly with the designs.
Thanks for stopping by to visit. Happy Spring!
