Never Stop Praying and Asking For Your Dreams To Come True

Have you ever had a rabbit under the hat that you were wearing . . .
jumping around on your head for 6 weeks trying to get out.
Well, that is how I have been feeling lately.
i've been holding on to my hat and holding on,
but all the time wanting to release him.

WELL HERE GOES . . .

I have been wanting to make this post for so long now . . .
but I didn't want to jump the gun . . .
or get ahead of the Lord.

SOLD . . .pulling up the sign.

"Welcome To Our Little 1905 Bungalow"

I have been praying for a little house in the country.
A place where I had room for a garden . . .and maybe a larger studio.

A place where Steve would have a bigger shop when he retires.

Well, never give up on your prayers and your dreams,
because the Lord answers them in His perfect timing,
not in our instant gratification kind of timing.

These are all photos of the house and property the way it looks today.
Yesterday . . . we signed the final papers.
and today we have the keys!

My blog will be filled with all of our make-over projects.
We will be working on a tight budget . . .
but I believe that you can do great things on small budgets.
I'm a strong believer in the power of style and elbow grease
and I'm going to have a ball proving my point :)

So this is our dream . . . stay tuned and watch it blossom :)

The Kitchen

The living and dining room

The mud room / laundry room

A bedroom
Fireplace . . . Butchy is going to love that window :)
The well house.
We have never lived anywhere where we didn't have city water.
There is going to be a lot of changes and things for us to learn.
Notice the grape vines and behind them are two fruit trees.
We are not sure want they are, time will tell.
Oh, we are in for many surprises and adventures.

Well, you can see that we have our work cut out for us . . .
I am so ready to roll up my sleeves and get to work :)

You may have noticed that there were no photos of the bathroom.
That's because all of the inside photos were taken for the real estate listing.
They didn't want you to see the bathroom,
because it might have kept you from looking at the house :)

We live for DIY . . .
so the bathroom will be the first thing
that we plunge(a little play on words) into.
There will be lots of before and after photos.

Please say a little prayer that our poor old backs will hold out :)

God bless you all . . .
and Keep smiling.
My goodness, can you tell how excited I am!

Your blogging sister,
Connie :)

  12. Connie, I am soooo excited for you and can't wait to see all the wonderful, unique and creative touches you and your hubby will be adding to your new home. Having just gone through a house sale and purchase ourselves in December/January, I know just how you were feeling trying to keep that rabbit under your hat! And I do pray, sincerely, that you backs hold out - we aren't getting any younger and these old bodies complain a lot more than they used to don't they! Congratulations on your new home, with garden and shop and all the things you asked for. I know it is just right, tailor-made for the two of you. God's blessings on you both! I am truly thrilled for you.

  32. How cool is that!! Did you buy it just so you would have blog posts way into the future? Lol. just kidding.
BTW I am notifying all my blogger friends that their pictures have been stolen and posted on a site called picphoto.net.
I have done a blog post on it.
I emailed them and had my photos removed and reported them to Google. Do a search on their site for your blog name and you will see your photos.

  33. Hello Connie, how exciting for both you and Steve, congratulations! How exciting to find a house that you can completely put your own stamp on, and truly turn into something that is yours, and your style. I am quite envious - although maybe not so much of all your hard work needed lol. But I am sure it will all be so very worth it and you will love living there. I am so happy for you!

  37. Hi Connie,

Congratulations!!! I love the bungalow style. What a beautiful canvas to work with. I know you and Steve will have a wonderful time making it your own. After seeing the transformation of the Gypsy Rose I'm sure there will be wonderful woodwork to see. I was looking for a home that's a one level about a year ago. I found one that I fell in love with but the market wasn't in my favor. I didn't sell my little condo and the house was slowly taken off the market (after being listed for a year). I'm happy to say that I'm still in my little condo and have decided that I'll stay here until I can't walk up/down the stairs. I imagine that will be years to come. In the meantime, it's perfect for me and I know what I have. What I'm getting at is that I agree with you, God does things on his timetable and it's not necessarily ours. BUT, if you open your eyes you understand.

Congratulations, once again. Is it in the same town and close to a boat ramp?

    Hugs,
    Kay

    1. Hi Kay, yes in fact we are only about three miles from your other home. We'll be putting it on the market as soon as we get this one fixed up enough to move in. Hey, it's a one story. Have you ever thought about moving to Washington?

My favorite is the front of the house with that SWEET porch and dormer window upstairs! That would have gotten me there! The living and dining rooms are perfect together with that fireplace~~~~~I know what you've got facing you but it is a labor of love! Make it your own~~~can't wait to see what you do in the garden! 1. Hi Roxie, I'm still pinching myself . . . and feeling very blessed for this new beginning. One of our new neighbors (right next door) is a couple that Steve has own for longer than our marriage and that I have known for around 35 years. They are sweet Christians and empty nesters, like us. So, we are already feeling welcomed to the neighborhood :)
