Curtains For My Art Barn

My dear sweet friend Shirley gave me this wonderful fabric.
It just happens that I used some of this same fabric
a few years ago when I made a slipcover for a chair
that I am using in the Art Barn.
How perfect is that!
Here you can see the curtains.
I decided that I wanted them to only cover half the window.
I don't want to block the light.
I am working on a banner,
that I think will look pretty hanging over the windows.
When I get it finished and hung,
I'll show you and see what you think :)
There are still many things that need to get done,
but I am getting things put away and organized.
And loving . . .
My new creative . . .
Space :)
This is my new quilting frame.
I got it put together,
but will not be using it for a while.
There is a You Tube video on how to use it,
so this fall when I have time to sew and get another quilt ready  . . .
then I will give it a go :)

If any of you have this frame, I would love to know.
I just might have questions for you,
when I start using it :)

Well, that is what I have been doing  . . .
What are you up to?

Keep Smiling.
Connie :)

  5. I just love that fabric, Connie! Your curtains look great and I think it is smart to just cover the bottom half. You don't want to lose all that great natural light coming in. You've got such a great space to create here!

    1. Hi Kathy, I love my new space and this winter when I have more time for sewing and creating, it is going to be the perfect get-away :) I know that I would have shopped for fabric and came up with something, but I could not have found anything that is as perfect as this. My friend Shirley and I have many common likes and I am touched my her kindness. This fabric could not be more perfect :)

    1. Good Morning Patricia, Thank you so much . . . I feel truly blessed to have this wonderful space :)
It is amazing how there are things that you can only dream of . . . and then one day, the Lord just says "yes" and everything falls into place.
That is exactly how us moving to the country has been. Not only a wonderful little cottage, but also place to grow a garden, a shop for Steve and my art barn.
Our cup runneth over and we are beyond grateful :)

    1. Good Morning Rebecca, I love the fact that I can get away from my daily chores, but I am going to have to look up crock pot recipes on the internet this winter. It will come in very handy on days that I want to be out there quilting. It is easy to get into a project and forget about dinner. Time flies when we are having fun, LOL. I am very happy that you like my curtains and my creative space, thank you :)

I like your idea of only covering half the window......your Art Barn is soooo SWEET~~~What a great space! You will be very busy this winter, I'm sure. You do have heat?? Please show more goodies from your garden soon...I had my first homegrown tomato today (not from my harvest this year) It was Delicious!! Blessings for a wonderful week~~~keep smilin'...Roxie

    1. Hi Roxie, even though the art barn looks finished, there are still some fundamental things that need to be done. I just could not wait to start organizing. That and the fact that I had no where else to store my stuff. We have a meter and will soon have it wired completely and then a heater for winter. Oh, and there is still the ends of the loft to insulate. A girl's got to be comfortable to create, right :) We have one tomato that we have been watching; it is orange at the moment, but as soon as it turns red it will be on our dinner table. Then we have a lot more to follow. Gardening is so much fun. I love grocery shopping in my backyard:) Thank you for visiting and for your sweet and encouraging words.

    1. Hi Cindy, you can not believe the many times that you run across my mind. I know that your life is a busy one and it is wonderful to get a visit from you. You "Bee" careful this summer and "Bee" sure that your "Bee" suit is buttoned up tight. You are a brave soul . . . my reaction to bees is to run, LOL.
If it were not for brave girls like you, we would not have delicious honey on your biscuits :)

  17. I just canned spiced pickled beets yesterday. I love your art barn....sigh....(coming from someone who has no space for crafting...sigh). I keep saying when the kids move out I'll use one of their rooms, but that's not happening for a while. Until then, my kitchen table, front porch, and bedroom are my crafting spaces.
