More Photos From My Road Trip To Northeastern Oregon.

Come take a walk with me.
We will pass pretty cottages, landmarks, unique architecture, mountain lakes, and we will even browse through a very delightful shop filled with antiques and artful finds.
Remember the cottage tour before this post?
This is the house next door.

These Black-eyed Susan's were so pretty
&
A reminder that summer is over and winter is not far away.

Okay, does this make you think of Mayberry, USA?

This gorgeous barn is right in the center of town.

I love cute cottages.
See those chairs on the porch . . .
So pretty:)
Another gorgeous house.

This grand fellow flies above the courthouse lawns.
The courthouse.
And a close-up of the bandstand.
Summer evenings & live music, perfection :)

This is the screen-door on the book store.

And this is the screen-door on an art gallery next door.
These two doors have got my imagination going
on designing a screen-door for my art barn:)

We cannot stop with just a walk around town,
let's take a hike:)
This was taken from the top of a switchback trail . . .
We hiked down to that valley and picked apples from wild trees.
Then on to a trail through the woods.
Of course after the hike . . .
we had to hike back out.
This gal always gets plenty of exercise when I visit our daughter:)
Enjoying summer before it is a thing of the past.
Now we will leave Enterprise and move on to the town of Joesph, about 6 miles away.

The town of Joseph is beautiful, but quite touristy.

So if Chief Joseph doesn't mind . . .
Let's go shopping:)

You have got to love this cowgirl chandelier.
The top of this dresser is covered in book pages:)

When my granddaughter's saw this they said,
"Mama, that's you"

It does look like our daughter,
could very well have been the pretty girl posing for this statue.

If you are still with me . . .
thank you for tagging along on my little trip
to Northeastern Oregon.

It is a beautiful slice of the USA.
If you ever get the change to visit,
you will not be disappointed.

Until my next post,

I'll just say,
"Stay Happy & Keep Smiling"

Your blogging sister,
Connie :)

    1. It's a lovely area. If I would have stayed just a few days longer I would have gone to a barn dance with our daughter and granddaughters. Doesn't that sound fun:)

    1. There is a charm to older homes that even though they try, they just can't quite copy in newer built. I love visiting small towns filled with older homes:)

  4. Oh I missed your last post, so I'm glad I popped by. The post on the gingerbread house was so so pretty. What a wonderful place to live. It was lovely to come and take a virtual walk with you today. The porch with the rocking chair is just so beautiful, what a lovely place to relax. Your tree hugging photo made me smile :) Those screen doors are so unique and have obviously given you lots of inspiration. Thanks so much for sharing.

    1. Good Morning Ali, I am delighted that you popped in for a visit. I've just stopped in my daily chores to take a short break and blog a while. Isn't it funny how when you're away the dust still manages to fall and the grass and weeds still manage to grow . . . don't they ever take a day off, LOL. I had so much fun on my little trip . . . but today I must get cracking or I'll start getting over whelmed with the work load. Steve rototilled a section behind my studio, so I'm raking and want to get grass seed down before the end of my day:) Have a lovely day and keep smiling.

  5. Two beautiful towns. I love old houses, they carry such a wonderful history, if the walls could talk. My husbands family came for a visit this weekend and stayed at a bed and breakfast. The house, I am sure is over 150 years old....so beautiful with lots of hardwood floors and bannisters...old furniture. Yeah, I like old stuff. Would love to visit your neck of the woods.

    1. Hi Louise, I wonder what happen with your computer that makes your comments anonymous . . . I'm happy that you always let me know that it is you, other wise I delete anonymous comments. I've never stayed in a bed and breakfast, but there are a couple very pretty ones in Enterprise, so if I return and Steve comes with me, we just might have to give it a try:)

  6. Thank you for such a beautiful virtual tour of such a lovely part of the world - all so different from the UK! I love all the wooden houses with the carved decorations and the pretty white fences and gardens. I laughed out loud at the cowgirl chandelier! If I ever get to the USA, Oregon is somewhere I'd like to visit. The scenery with the mountains and lakes is so fabulous.

Thank you for visiting my blog, and I'm glad you like my charity shop finds! I've never taken part in a silent auction. Not sure I'd know how!

    Have a great week.

    1. Good Evening Shoshi, it is so nice to have you stop by. I had a wonderful trip. I am wondering if you saw the post just before this one. It is all about a cottage that I saw while on my trip . . . a gorgeous little cottage that is a must see. The people that live there created a gem:)

  7. A delightful post! I really enjoyed it! The view of the log cabin and houses through the trees makes my heart go pitter patter. I know those tall, tall trees are abundant up there, and I love them. Hubby and I hope to RV up that way someday.

    1. Hi Donna, it is beautiful country. I'm thinking about talking my hubby into making our spring trip next year into a camping trip. Our daughter will be graduating from nursing school so it sounds like a great time to take the week off and enjoy the countryside as well as being proud parents.

    1. Hi Kathy, well, my chiropractor bill is my reward for having so much work done around here:) We are in the process of having someone come in and insulate the heating ducts in our crawl space and we are going down to order windows today and when they arrive that is what we will be doing every weekend between now and frost. Next year should be so much easier:) I certainly hope so, LOL. I'm not complaining . . . I love living here and having room for a garden and just not having another house ten feet away. Thanks for stopping by to visit . . I always look forward to visiting with you. It's great that you now have time to relax and enjoy retirement . . . I've been loving reading your posts.
