Backyard Picnic

The weather was beautiful
&
there is nothing I like more than having a picnic.
Even in the backyard :)

I decided to turn our little
garden tractor/lawnmower and cart,
into a buffet table.
Menu:
Slow Smoked Pulled Pork
Baked Beans
Potato Salad
Cole Slaw
Deviled Eggs & Pickles
(wish you were here)
There is a tray with buns setting on the hood of the tractor.

A green tub of cold drinks in the back of the cart.
And a jar of flowers from the yard,
in the cup holder :)
Isn't that what it was made for?

I am truly enjoying Spring:)

Happy Mother's Day!

Your blogging sister,
Connie :)

    1. Four-thousand miles is a long way to travel to a picnic, LOL. We did have a lovely time. My Steve smoked the pork butt for ten slow hours and it was incredible. Old friends, good food, beautiful day . . . that is hard to beat:)

    1. Thanks so much . . . it just seemed like a cool ideal. I think that I am going to be doing it again and again. After the party, instead of making many trips to the house with food and dishes, it was a short tractor ride to the backdoor, LOL.

  7. Hi Connie, using your lawnmower as a buffet.....genius! So cute! The food sounds so delicious and just like something we would serve here in SC. Happy Mother's Day!

    1. Hi Laurie, with six people around the table there was no room for food, too, so I needed a buffet table. The little tractor and cart seemed perfect and after the party everything went back to the house in one trip instead of many :) I'll be doing this again, LOL.

  13. Oh Connie, that is FUN!!! You do things so imaginatively and so beautifully - whoever would have thought that a garden implement could be turned into something so lovely - even down to the flowers! Your picnic looks so delicious and appetising, and I'm so glad you had nice weather for it. It's been very cold and wet again here, after it had started to warm up a bit!

Thank you for your lovely message, and what a sweet thing to say! Medicine for the heart! I've never been called that before!! And yes, my friend is a very, very special lady indeed, and such a wonderful Christian. The times of fellowship we share are some of the most precious times in my life! Last night was such a lovely oasis between my surgery and chemo, and when I'm feeling poorly with the chemo I shall look back on it and remember what a happy time we had.

    1. Hi Shoshi, it is lovely seeing you out and about enjoying life. With everything that you have been going through you have got to grab a hold of all the good times that you can. In that fact, we all do . . . there are no promises, but many choices and crossroads. We need to always choose Life and the giver of Life is always with us, through every single step. God bless you. I am delighted that you liked my little backyard picnic, we had a great time :)

    1. Hi Lorrie, Food just tastes better outdoors, especially when you have family or good friends to eat with :) Even when I'm alone, I sometimes take my lunch outside on the porch . . . that and a book or magazine is a great way to breath in spring and get a relaxing break :)

    1. We had a good rain early this morning so I do not have to set out sprinklers today :) I am still waiting for many of my seeds to germinate, I get impatient and check them almost everyday. You know what they say about a watched pot ever boils . . . that's how I feel about them. maybe I need to go outside and give them all a little pep talk, LOL. I hope that your Mother's Day was relaxing and wonderful :)

Although rain is a precious gift here in the desert, you still don't want it when you plan an outdoor event:)
