Are you a day dreamer?
Me too!
Now I have a special spot to do it:)
Do you remember my Goodwill chair?
After giving it a coat of white paint . . .
and making a big mess . . .
and cleaning it up,
well at least washing the brushes . . .
It is finished:)
What do you think?
That's it . . .
the perfect chair to day dream in.
Come on over and try it out.
Oh, the last thing . . .
It's art . . .right?
~~~~~*****~~~~~
So, I thought I should sign it:)
Have a wonderful day!
Connie :)
ReplyDeleteThank you! I have another chair out in the garage that is wooden with a covered seat. I was going to recover it with a print, but now I'm thinking about painting the cushion with flowers to match this one:)
ReplyDeleteIt was one of those . . .have fun with it projects . . . and I did. I'm very happy that you like it:)
DeleteHow fabulous, I would never have thought of painting on fabric. You are one talented lady xxxxx
ReplyDeleteHi Fran, I would have never thought of it either, until a couple years ago when I saw a sofa that someone had painted on the internet. I have been wanting to try it ever since. So when I saw this chair at the Thrift store . . . I couldn't resist giving it a go :)
DeleteConnie, that is awesome!!
ReplyDeleteThank you . . . Just something I had to try:)
DeleteConnie! You are an artist too! I feel like such an idiot! I've been thinking lately, wonder when Connie is going to post again. Looking at my blog list I decide to click on "crafty home cottage" and there you are! I've missed three posts. You may have figured out that I am not much of a computer person. My daughter helped me start a blog. I know just enough to get by. :) I love your daydreaming chair. And, your last post, your vegetable and flower beds are beautiful. The Zinnias are beautiful!
ReplyDeleteWhen I started my blog, I went to the store and purchased Blogging For Dummies :) So, that tells you where I am as far as the internet and computers. Without that book and help from my blogging sisters, I wouldn't be here in blog-land. I find that anytime I want to learn something, I can find a blogging sister than has it on her blog and ask. Most bloggers are very helpful to walk you through a new step. Just the other day I learned how to put Pinterest on my sidebar. Blogging is a wonderful network of friends, sharing ideas, comforting in time of need, praying for one another and a great place to learn new computer skills.
DeleteThank you for your sweet comments. You inspire me to put my best foot forward. This chair was so much fun and gardening is new to me, but I'm learning a lot about it on-line and doing my best. I love zinnias, because they hold up so well. They will last a good week in a vase and sometimes more. They bloom all summer into frost and the more you cut, the more they bloom. besides that, they are such happy flowers . . . bright and cheery and ready to put a smile on your face each time you walk out the door.
Here's wishing you a marvelous day, thanks for stopping by. You are a sweetie pie:)
OH MY Word, what a fabulous job you did on this chair. I love it! And how cool that you signed it. Did you draw the women free hand ?
ReplyDeleteHi Becky, I didn't draw her first, but I did painted her free handed. I am so happy that you like my chair.
DeleteWhat a chair to sit and let your mind wander...
ReplyDeleteWandering over artful things and sewing projects :)
DeleteOh my goodness...you've made a work of art! And one you can enjoy. Now if I only had one with blond hair...or silver! heehee! You KNOW I'm a dreamer! I just put you on my blog list to keep up with your fun. Sweet hugs girlfriend, Diane
DeleteHi Diane, this chair will be a nice addition in my studio . . . and it was so much fun to do. I am delighted that you put me on your blog-list, thank you so much. I am honored and right back at you :)
DeleteOh Connie! I LOVE it. Had no idea you were a talented artist. Really really adorable. GREAT JOB! Susan
ReplyDeleteHey Susan, thank you so much . . . it was a fun project that I have been wanting to try. It will make it's home in my Art Barn . . .
Deleteit's a great place for day dreaming :)
Connie, it is adorable and you are very creative! But when do you find time to day dream with all the things you do?????????? Nancy
ReplyDeleteOh, i've had time for that ever since I took my first breath of air, LOL.
DeleteThis looks great.
ReplyDeleteA special paint or acrylic? I have heard the move toward fabric painting and you have done a great job.
I just used those little plastic bottles of craft paint (Folk Art) and watered them down.
DeleteThat is so very original and also very you! Happy day dreaming. xx
ReplyDeletePainting this was like being a kid again with a new box of crayons . . . I just decided to have fun and not worry about how it turned out . . .after all it was a second hand chair and if it didn't turn out I could always make a slipcover, LOL. Going at it with this free attitude made it so much fun :)
DeleteThanks for taking a stroll in my garden via A New England Flowerbed. I love, love, love your chair!! You have great style! Is this for you or a gift or an item for sale? I would imagine you can't keep everything you create or you wouldn't be able to move in your place.....Happy Gardening!
ReplyDeleteMy plan is to keep this chair . . . it works very well in my little studio:)
DeleteIt is wonderful, I so LOVE it, great job with all the painting, and love the quote!
ReplyDeleteHi Connie . . . you sure know how to make a girl feel good . . .thank you :)
DeleteAbsolutely incredible!!! Will you keep this in your art barn or put it somewhere else?
ReplyDeleteHi Melanie, I made it especially for my art barn. It will add a little more whimsy . . . everyone needs a little more of that, LOL
DeleteWell that's just one lovely dreamin chair.. You did a great job.. I like to come over and dream a bit.. I could use that chair about now.. I thank you for your visit.. I'd love to have some tea some time.. with love Janice
ReplyDeleteMaybe I can dream a little dream for you . . . or come over and sit in it and had a little dream of your own . . .my welcome mat is always out:)
DeleteHi Connie. What a wonderful chair for a wonderful person! I can just imagine the day dreaming that you will be having in that chair.
ReplyDeleteThank you for checking in on me. Its been 1 month since the knee surgery and I have good days and bad days. Every week gets better. I hurt my ankle doing some exercises for the knee so that's slowed me down a bit and it's swollen also. I haven't even like doing anything crafty at all. I Give Myself another couple of weeks before I start to get worried!
Hugs kay
Oh Kay, I am sorry to hear this, but know that you are in my prayers. Take it easy and baby yourself a little:)
DeleteI love your header. What a great idea with painting the chair. You are very talented. I looks like it sits great!
ReplyDeleteIt is comfortable and not overly big . . . perfect size for my studio and now it looks like it belongs there :)
DeleteThanks for visiting and for your very kind words.
Connie, that turned out so wonderful.. you should submit it to your county fair! You would win a prize! We made it to Corning, CA today.. on to Lake Tahoe tomorrow. ((hugs)), Teresa :-)
ReplyDeleteHi Teresa, I just know that your trip is going to be wonderful and so relaxing. I hope you take lots of photos.
DeleteI'm happy that you like my chair, it was fun to do :)
Totally fantastic, I would definitely like to sit in it, shame it's too far to pop over! Valerie
ReplyDeleteI know! I would love to have you pop over and have a sit . . . I'm sure we would have loads of things to talk about.
DeleteWhy I would even breakdown and bake a cake:)
you sure turned this into a lovely piece, charming and fun too!
ReplyDeleteHi Tammie, thanks so much for stopping by to visit . . . it is lovely to see you and thank you for your sweet and kind words.
DeleteYou are so creative, Connie! It seems to pretty to sit in. Like it should be displayed like a piece of art.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Brandi, my goodness your comment is a sweet way to start my day . . . thank you, you put a big ole smile on my face:)
Deletewell, if that's not the most adorable thing I've ever seen...so so cute.
ReplyDeleteYou just put a big ole smile on my face . . . thank you :)
DeleteOh! you very talented lady!!! i love your chair. Im enjoying all things artsy lately... this speaks to my arsty heart
ReplyDeleteI feel honored that I could touch the artsy side of your heart . . . keep smiling and go create something fun:)
DeleteROFL Connie - the idea that you of all people have time to sit around daydreaming is utterly hilarious lol lol!!! Love it!! Your chair is a work of art! It is really, really fun, and so pretty! I bet everyone who comes will laugh too! Knowing how busy and creative you are, I can't imagine you ever having time to sit down!
ReplyDeleteThank you for your visit and your lovely comment. Your offer of the art books is tempting! Maybe I should pop over and sit in the daydreaming chair lol! Meanwhile, I have to be satisfied with Youtube and Pinterest and lots of inspiration from people's blogs etc.! What would we do without the Internet? I do try to keep positive. I am feeling a bit better today, so I am hoping to have more energy in the next few days to be able to do some creative stuff before my next treatment on 24th (the half-way point!).
Shoshi x
Hi Shoshi, I'm not in the groove of you younger folks . . . you will have to explain ROFL, remember I'm an old geezer, LOL
DeleteI'm delighted that you like my chair. I agree, if you blog and do Pinterest, there is more than enough ideas to keep you busy. I have saved a lot of money not buying magazines . . . but I do buy them once in a while :) It's hard to go cold turkey on a habit that you've had since you were a teenager.
What a wonderful spot to do a bit of wondering and mind-wandering Connie! Just lovely. xx
ReplyDeleteHi Jane, thank you so much. It was something that I have been wanting to try for a long time:) Painting a fabric chair, not day dreaming . . . that i've been doing for longer than I can remember:)
DeleteI absolutely NEED a chair like that for my craft space. It looks amazing
