Bicycling Through Paris

Another quilt finished.
I had totally forgotten about this one
until I was cleaning drawers in a chest
out in the barn.
I started it back in February of 2015.
Two years ago!
Look at the view . . .
February 2015 and no snow . . .
I'm longing for a view with no snow this year :)

Before I show you the finished quilt,
let me tell you about Chasity.
This week I received and email from a young lady
that is just getting started in blogging.
She has the beginning of a charming blog that she has titled,
The Blue Cottage Farmhouse
remember when we first started out
and how we wondered if anyone would find us
and like our blog enough to comment or to follow us back?
For me it was exciting and a little bit scary, too.
Please visit her blog and show her just how sweet
blogging sisters can be.
You can find her here:
http://thebluecottagefarm.blogspot.com/

But wait before you go . . .
Don't you want to see my completed project?

I used my light-box to make the quilt's label.

Have A Lovely Day
&
Keep Smiling!

Your blogging sister,
Connie :)

  1. Hi Connie, You make such neat quilts! We did go to Paris but not bicycling there! After having a couple bad crashes on my bike I have given up bike riding completely! Learned my lesson finally! LOL Nancy

    1. Hi Nancy, Paris was always a dream when I was younger . . . now I am perfectly happy to stay right here in the USA. I do, do a lot of traveling through blogging and I truly enjoy that. Now, if I ever had a chance to visit the UK . . . that is a trip I would love to take. I hope that you are getting all settled into your new home and will be done with most of the work before warm gardening weather starts :)

    1. Oh, I'm sure that you are right about that . . . but in my dreams bicycling is a breeze, LOL. Oh well, I'm getting a little bit old for bicycling and for traveling to far away places :) I kind of like the comforts of my own bed each night.

    1. You know I never thought that I would enjoy quilting and then about three years ago I decided to give it a try and the quilting bug bit my heart and I was a goner, LOL. I had tried about thirty five years ago when our daughter was young, but never finished the quilt that I was making for her . . . I need to do that:) It was my pleasure to add you to my post . . . I wish you the very best with your blog and hope that you find blogging so rewarding and fun that it becomes part of your life. There are so many sweet women all over the world that share ideas and care about quality of life, family and home. You'll be surprised at some of the close friendships that you will make with people that you will probably never meet in person, but will be an enrichment to your life.

  10. You amaze me with your fast quilting! I LOVE that Parisian fabric... just darling.. and the quilt you finished is just wonderful! Every time I see a new one of yours, I think... I've GOT to get going on my UFO's..... one of these days hopefully. Your Feb. 2015 view is just wonderful.. I too long to look out my window and see the grass... and not snow! It's spitting right now and hope it doesn't turn into something worse. They're saying we'll get snow all week (again) here but hopefully not in copious amounts. Drat it.. I need some sunshine and warmth. I love that picture by the window as love all the white things.. the white sewing table, walls, chair, things on the wall.. is so bright and cheery. I'll jump over to visit Chastity's blog too. So nice of you to introduce us to her.. You are so sweet. I think we all need to hop up to your place for a big fun sewing bee! Hugs.. Marilyn

    1. Hi Marilyn, I enjoy reading your comments so much, I never know what to expect and that's refreshing :) It snowed again here last night, but sometime this afternoon I looked out and it was sunny . . . how glorious the sun is after so many grey and gloomy days. It just lightens my heart and I gives me a new surge of energy. I've been working on several different projects today and did manage to complete one of them. I'll take photos and put together another post very soon. February has to be a turning point . . . I just know we have warmer days ahead. Stay warm my sweet blogging sister:)

  21. Well your quilt is a WOW, what amazing details! Aren't you glad you finished it? (I am!)

So that altered book/art journal--that book had seriously been on the shelf for YEARS, and now it's almost full! Just doing something everyday, that was the challenge to myself, and so far, so good. And the Just Glue It--if you don't feel like you have to have all paints and stencils and markers and everything out, it makes doing something everyday way more doable. At least for me. Thank you for stopping by, we've been visiting each other back and forth for a few years now, it's always fun to reconnect with a blog friend!!

    :)

    1. Good Morning Trisha, Thank you so much, I'm delighted that you like my quilt, it sure feels good to have it checked off my list. I hate having things on hold. The altered book that I was talking about got put on the shelf when we moved into our fixer-upper country home. We will be celebrating three years living here this June. My book was the last thing on my list of to do's after moving . . . We are still fixing up the place but the list gets smaller all the time and now there's time for more fun projects. I so appreciate you stopping by and leaving such a sweet comment, you are and inspiration and a lovely blogging sister:)
      Have a wonderful day!

    1. Hi Nancy, we are just staying in and watching a raging blizzard going on outside. The flakes are huge and we have been getting snow since Friday. I know you told me to keep saying, "Spring is coming." I had a talk with the Lord about it, and he said, "it's just to make me appreciate Spring" . . . I'm about ready to get down on my knees and kiss the green grass if I ever see it again.
