Do you find yourself . . .
looking for things to post on your blog?
Sometimes our lives are busy with projects
and adventures . . .
but sometimes you have to hunt
for a fun post.
This post is a little tour
through some of my old Art Journal
pages . . . I hope you enjoy the tour.
I love hats!
I hope this page encourages you
to try something new in
2018.
I'm not as cute as this garden fairy,
but I do like wiggling my toes in the mud, LOL.
That's it . . .
I hope you had a pleasant visit.
Do leave a comment
so that I know you were here:)
I love reading them.
Keep Smiling!
Your blogging sister,
Connie :)
Do we look or do we see?
ReplyDeleteI like that! I don't know the answer.
Sometimes we just look at things, but when we look at them with interest and involvement that is when we actually see them.
DeleteArt journals are fun! Your pages are bright and cheery!
ReplyDeleteThanks . . . these were just fun and something to do while watching TV with the hubby :)
DeleteHi Connie, my name is di...I have been reading your blog for quite some time now and enjoy it so much...I have tried to comment a few times but I never seem to get through...I love reading your blog and this is an extra special one for me...I love your journal entries...they make me happy...happy 2018!di
ReplyDeleteWhat fun! Loved the tour of your Art Journal.
ReplyDeleteThe count down is almost here. Blessed New Year of 2018 to you and yours.
I know another year has flown by so quickly . . . the older I get the faster they seem to go by :)
DeleteHappy New Year!
Connie, I wish I were enthusiastic about weeds and such! You are so talented it puts the rest of us to shame. Hoping you have a great end to the year, and looking forward to sharing time with you in 2018. I just know it's going to be great.
ReplyDeleteI believe that it will be a great year, too. This is the year that my sweet hubby will retire, so that is one thing that I'm looking forward to in 2018. It will be nice having him home. Happy New Year sweet friend!
DeleteThank you for sharing your beautiful and inspiring journal. Happy New Year Connie!
ReplyDeleteHi Val, it's great to see you. Thank you for being such a sweet blogging sister and Happy New Year to you too:)
DeleteLove your art journal....you are quite the artist!!!! Sometimes I wonder where you find the time to do all that you do. I think you have 48 hours a day and not just 24...oh and you don't sleep!!! Or....I am a very lazy person. Blessings to you and yours. I hope 2018 is filled with MORE things to accomplish and create.....you are quite the lady!!!!
ReplyDeleteWow, watch out or you will give me a big head. It's funny that you said that, I didn't sleep last night. I started a new book and I couldn't put it down. I read from 11 PM until 6 AM and then rolled over and slept for an hour and a half before getting up. That's not normal for me, but I couldn't put it down :)
DeleteConnie!! I feel like your unemployed garden faerie at the moment lol! :) I can't wait to get my hands into the dirt this spring! Your drawings are lovely. :) Wishing you a glorious new year and hope you have a nice fun cozy night tonight! :)
ReplyDeleteI know what you mean. I've been starting to receive seed catalogs in the mail and when that happens I start drawing out plans for rotating my garden beds. Last year I started my tomato and pepper seeds in the mud room in February. That's not that far away:)
DeleteI'd like to think that I SEE.
ReplyDeleteWhat a great art journal you have made. I so enjoyed looking at all the pictures.
Thank you . . . they are pretty simply drawings, but fun to do just the same :)
DeleteI was here Connie, and enjoyed your artwork very much. Happy New Year!!
ReplyDeleteLOL! I'm so happy to see that you were here . . . that put a smile on my face, thanks :)
DeleteI frequently have to dig for something to post. These pages are great.
ReplyDeleteToday is the first day in long time, that I have time to go out into the Art Barn and play . . . so maybe I'll soon have something new and fresh to blog about . . . I just thought, why not dig into my archives and post some journal pictures . . . it's nice to have archived posts, LOL.
DeleteThank you for sharing your art! I wish I could draw.
ReplyDeleteThese are just fun pastime drawings, sometimes when the hubby is watching those man shows, like ice truckers, and alligator hunters, I need something to do while pretending to watch TV with him, LOL.
DeleteConnie- I knew you were a quilter but I had no idea you were such a wonderful, sweet artist. I love it, Connie. You do beautiful work and the joy in your soul just shines through your work. Blessings and Happy New Year-xo Diana
ReplyDeleteDiana, that is so sweet and coming from you, it truly touched my heart, thank you :)
DeletePray tell Connie, what book were you reading to keep you up at night, or all night I should say!????? I love to read and love a book that I just can't put down! If it's a great one, it goes everywhere with me, even to the bathroom! I've been known to do the same as you. I may read from after dinner until maybe 4 or 4:30 am, then sleep until 11. oh the wonderful joys of being retired! good for your hubby that he is retiring. He'll love it I'm sure. My hubby retired 4 years before I did and I was so jealous and could hardly stand it! I do love your art journals. It's one thing I haven't done. I did have a sketchbook when I was young and into my teens. wish I still had it. I love each of your pages and how they are very uplifting. You are so talented and artistic! Hugs......Marilyn
ReplyDeleteThe book I'm reading is called The Inheritance by Hedi Hostetter. It takes place in what I'm sure is a fictional town called Inlet Bay, Oregon. I looked on the map and couldn't find it, LOL.
DeleteThat was fun! I like your art - you do an especially good job with the shading, and the colors are quite rich. Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThank you, that was a very sweet compliment, I've always enjoyed drawing:)
DeleteI love your art journal! How I would love to see the entire thing (or journalS) in person! Happy New Year and blessings to you and your husband for 2018. {{hugs}}
ReplyDeleteHi Melanie, Thank you that was sweet . . . I just think that keeping a journal is a great way to keep your memory alive. I'm not a writer, but I love expressing myself visually. After my Mom passed I found her journals and even some poetry that she wrote . . . it was great reading about her life, even the small things like going to the store to buy yard, to make a blanket for Connie's new baby (1973). As for poetry, I never even knew that side of her . . . she kept it her little secret. Maybe someday my daughter and granddaughters will enjoy my journals in the same way.
DeleteWhat a fun post to end the year!! I hope the new year brings you blessings heaped upon blessings!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you and the very same to you . . . I know that it's going to be a great year:)
DeleteThank you for sharing your delightful art work. It's a positive way to start the new year!
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteLove your journal. I'm looking forward to hoeing and weeding because it will mean the weather is warmer:-)
ReplyDeleteMe too! I am not a fan of cold weather, but it's a good reason to quilt and crochet . . . no yard work:)
DeleteI enjoy living in an area with four seasons, Spring, Summer, Fall, and Quilting, LOL.
Hi Connie, What a nice Art Journal you have created! Mine would have to be with pictures that I cut out. I am no good at drawing! You are such a creative person. Is Steve creative too? What fun yous will have after he gets to retire. Nancy
ReplyDeleteHi Nancy, Steve is creative. At the moment he has been making things on his lathe, but I am not allowed to see what he is doing. He started a matching project for our daughter and me for Christmas, but due to company and his bad foot and being on crutches . . . well it slowed him down. He was just out there working for the first time in about 6 weeks, just yesterday. Him and our friend Jim are also building a 16 foot canoe out in his shop, too. I need to take a photo for my blog. Thank you for all of your encouragement and kind words on my blog. You've been a very sweet friend.
DeleteConnie, I love your whimsical artwork! I am not as pretty as that garden fairy either, but she said my sentiments perfectly! :) Looking forward to more fun posts from you in 2018!
ReplyDeletehugs,
Jann
Those of us that love being in the garden all have a little garden fairy in us, don't you think?
DeleteIt's going to be a great year . . . I can feel it in my bones . . . or is that arthritis, LOL
What a beautiful art journal, so much to look at. You have so many talents. Best wishes for 2018.
ReplyDeleteYou're so sweet, thank you :)
