Flowers & Sweet Granddaughters

~~~~~***~~~~~
Welcome to my little corner of the world.
I didn't think that I would have a post
this week because I'm having too
much fun with our visiting
granddaughters.
~~~~~***~~~~~

~~~~~***~~~~~
I do not post photos of them on my blog . . .
but I thought this one would be okay.
A year ago last spring they asked me
if I would grow my hair out with them.
They want to donate theirs to
a charity that makes wigs for cancer victims.
I don't think that they would want my
salt and pepper hair,
but I agreed to join them :)
 ~~~~~***~~~~~

~~~~~***~~~~~
 While they have been here  . . .
these are some of the crafts
that we've made together.
I saw them on Pinterest and wanted to
give them a try :)
 ~~~~~***~~~~~

 ~~~~~***~~~~~
Now because I'm having so much fun
with them, the rest of my post is a
tour through the garden.
My morning glories are gorgeous this year,
as well as other beauties in bloom.
 ~~~~~***~~~~~

~~~~~***~~~~~
 Enjoy the tour :)
~~~~~***~~~~~
 Have a great week!

We have plans for the water slides,
the fair and the rodeo.

Keep Smiling!

  4. Is that a pink Morning Glory? I know the blue one, but I don't think I've seen a pink one before.

  7. I am sure your salt and pepper hair will make a beautiful wig, too. It would be my choice if I ever had to get a wig. Your granddaughters are very thoughtful. Enjoy the rest of the visit. I hope to see some rodeo photos, I haven't been to one since 1997! x

  8. Such a precious gift your granddaughters will be giving. Sweet girls!
    I loved seeing all your pretty flowers. We finally had rain last night but
    I'm thinking it was too late for any flowers here.

  12. Your flowers are absolutely gorgeous. I’m glad you’re having such a good time with your granddaughters. Their plans to give their hair away is absolutely wonderful and such a sweet thing for them to do. Do you have much smoke there? The air is terrible here. I woke up in the trailer this morning and couldn’t even see the water at the lake. My lungs were burning and my eyes were streaming and I had a horrible headache. I decided to just come home. I hope your air is much better over there. Blessings,
    Betsy

  19. Aren't Zinnias the happiest of plants and there is nothing on earth quite like the blue of Morning Glories. How sweet to have your granddaughters stay with you. Money raised for cancer initiatives is always an excellent thing. Those weaving pretties are fabulous; how fun. 'Tis always a delight to stroll through your garden, Connie.

  20. Your grand girls' hair is growing out nicely. My daughters have given theirs to cancer agencies a couple of times. It does grow quickly. I really like those weavings. Your garden is full of colour and delight. Especially those zinnias! Enjoy the time with your girls.

  21. Great photos Connie! You and your camera make such a great pair! Love the pix of the 3 of you... how sweet and thoughtful of your grands to donate their (and your!) hair.... you must be very proud of them. What fun to do some crafting with them too.. and the walk through your "park" was so fun.. I love all the close-ups.. flowers are so amazing when you look really close at them and the leaves.. it's a whole new world! Love your zinneas too and the glories climbing that post or is it a windmill as someone said? Just amazing. And oh those grapes.. what are you going to do with them? I have a "juicer" that I got years and years ago at an REI Coop when they were still around, that you put your berries or whatever in the top, and then water in the bottom, and it boils and steams the berries or whatever.. and then it has a tube that hooks on and all the juice that is made goes down the tube into jars. Then you can either can the juice for drinking, or use it to make jelly. I always used it for blackberries so could have seedless jelly, and I usually canned the juice until winter, and then would make my jelly in the winter. Loved that thing.. still have it but haven't used it for year! Homemade grape juice is wonderful for drinking! Enjoy those girls and have fun at the rodeo! xoxoxo Marilyn

  22. Connie, how wonderful that you got to visit with your granddaughters for awhile. I love that picture of them with their long hair. And it's so special that they're growing it out to donate to a charity. Your garden is coming along nicely, and oh, that sunflower! It's beautiful, even drooping from the heat. And that purple flower is gorgeous.

    Enjoy the rest of the summer days, Connie. It's not as hot today as it's been, but we've had some fires in California, which scare me.

    love, ~Sheri

  26. Fun times with grandkids are so special! And so is growing your hair out to donate to wigs for cancer patients! That’s awesome! I love the dream catcher/yarn art that y’all did. Can you give me the link to your Pinterest page so I can look it up? Was it knitted? Crocheted? What is it actually called?

    We’re on our way to Colorado for a couple of weeks and I have yarn, wire, paints and other art supplies on board. I had something in mind to make and yours is an inspiration as well. I knew how to knit 47 years ago when I was 18 but I don’t remember now and I don’t know how to crochet either. I was thinking of learning to knit again not very long ago so I could add it to nature art pieces and lo and behold you have inspired me to do it! Yahoo!

    Your flowers and garden areas look so beautiful! I love the climbing morning glories! (At least I think that’s what they are!). Very pretty!

    Thanks for another one of your lovely posts! I always enjoy them!
