A Welcomed Break

We are on week two of a three week
chemo break . . .
and Steve's energy was up good enough
to drive to town and walk around
the Memorial Day car show.

The weather was cool
and it was a perfect day.

I got off on the hood ornaments
and the grills.

They don't make them like this
any more :)

Does anyone remember the Edsel?
I do!

Remember these, from the drive-in movies.

If Henry Ford would have seen
them in red . . . he might not have
choosen black for his color of choice.
Isn't it pretty!

For you Z Z Top fans :)

It was so nice to get out with my man
and do something normal.

We have the rest of this week
and then Monday we are back to
the chemo ward.

Please keep us in your prayers.

Keep Smiling!

Connie :)

  7. Oooh - they are beautiful! Bob's family had an Edsel when he was a kid. Years later, his brother loves to restores cars and is always looking for another old one and an old Edsel popped up. Same type and year as the one they had. When he bought it, it turned out to be the exact car! So he restored it and still has it. So cool!
I'm so thankful that Steve is getting a break and you were able to get out and have fun. Still praying!

  22. Oh Connie, so glad that you and Steve got out for Memorial Day. Hope and pray things get better and better for you both. Those cars are amazing! That Edsel! My dad was really into new cars and as soon as the Edsel came out he bought one...it was light blue. I remember, my brother got a job at the chicken plant in Robbins and drove the Edsel to work one day. The plant parking was on a steep hill. Jackie parked and went in to work and must have left the car out of park. It rolled down the hill and crashed. My brother was known for doing things like that. :)

  23. Good Morning Connie! I'm glad you had such a good time at the car show with Steve. I remember those drive in speakers! I do miss drive-in movies. You know that you and Steve are always in our prayers. We've asked our Bible study group to pray too and I know they are all prayer warriors. Enjoy the week my friend.
    Blessings,
    Betsy

  24. It was so neat to see that you two got out for a normal day of vintage car viewing..... it brought me such joy! I do remember drive-in's and those things you put on your car window. I was still going to drive-ins in the Portland, OR area during my high school years and even after. Was so sad to see them bite the dust and disappear. Such memories! I'm not such an old car buff but did enjoy these beautiful ones you showed. Wow and double wow. A person has to be rich to restore those gems, for sure. I had a 1955 Chevy which if I would have kept it, would now be a "classic"! Loved it. Also had a 1963 Corvette and a 1965 Corvette.. also classics now. Should have, wish I would have (kept them)!! Good to see a smile on Steve's face, and I'm sure on yours too! Hugs.. Marilyn
