Another Finished Quilt

I have finished my latest quilt.
It is the first time that I've done
A Log Cabin Block.

Here I am sewing on the binding.

I like to sew it on my machine
and then hand hem it :)

I haven't made a label yet,
but I have decided to name it . . .

"Henny Penny Log Cabin"

After all it was totally inspired
by the lovely vintage children
on the fabric gifted me
my Melba of Henny Penny Lane.

Thank you again sweet friend,
I love this fabric :)
 Here it is finished!

I've been doing a little bit of decorating.

And because our chess board was
flimsy paper . . .
I went out to Steve's shop and found a nice piece of plywood . . .

And  made us a new one.
We have been pretty much house bound
and playing chess has been a fun
afternoon thing to do in this cold weather.

 I'm also working on another . . .

You guessed it!
Another quilt, LOL.

What can I do?
That ole "Quilting Bug" bit me
and I'm hooked.

Keep Smiling!

Thank you so much for your prayers.
You all have touched our hearts with your
love and kindness.

Your blogging sister,
Connie :)

  1. Dear Quilting Queen, I love your latest one! Those squares of the cute little children just make it! A new chessboard too! I admire your straight lines! Yummy recipes to share with Steve. What a lovely way to live each precious moment in your day!

  2. It's late Saturday night and I'm just getting around to the computer. My eyes were in for a treat when I opened your post and saw this sweet, sweet quilt. I love that vintage fabric from Melba. Aren't blog friends just the best? You definitely have a gift for quilting that has passed me by. :-)
Oh the memories that you and Steve will make playing chess on your new board. It will mean so much more ...playing on your homemade board. I love it. Wishing you a lovely Sunday, full of blessings from the Lord.
    Love and Blessings,

  3. Beautiful! You put me to shame....I am still struggling to finish one I started months ago.
Wishing you a calm and hopeful Christmas, and continuing to pray for you both, dear Connie.

Good job on the chess board. That's a good way to pass the time. I was never very good at the game.

  16. What a surprise. I was just checking in and saw my name again. Connie, thank you. All your quilts are so beautiful. You deserve some kind of an award. I've never known anybody that could design and make a quilt with such ease. I mean, making a quilt is a big deal. It would take me forever. I'm honored that you named your quilt after me. You are very special! Love, Henny

  17. You are amazing Connie! This log cabin quilt is just gorgeous and fun! I do agree that the quilting bug has hit you. That's the way I felt when I made over 60 Christmas cards through October and November! I just couldn't stop! I bet it's kind of nice being in the house by the fire, doing your quilting and sewing. My prayers are with you and Steve every day. Love.. Marilyn
