Doing Our Best To Stay Positive

Doing Our Best To Stay Positive
I think it is important
to build each other up
and to encourage one another in love.

I ventured out this week
and went to Home Depot.
No, I'm not there to rob the place . . .
although it looks like it, with my mask, LOL.

I appreciated how they were only
allowing so many in the store at a time
and encouraging personal distancing.

I purchased a few things
to start getting ready
for my summer garden.

It feels good to get outside
in the sunshine.

Butchy has been my companion
and what a little trooper he is.
See the little spot between his eyes.
There was one of those awful warts
that older dogs get . . .
right there between his eyes.

So; last night after bathing him,
I did a little surgery.
It bled for a few minutes but
he didn't even flinch.

Looks great this morning :)

It is a particularly hard and lonely
time for me . . .
but I know that it is, for many of us.

It's a wonderful time for doing
the things that truly matter.

This quarantine has given us all
more time to slow down.

I read this verse this morning.

And this is the confidence which we
have in Him: that if we ask anything
according to His will,
He listens to and hears us.
          I John 5:14

Have you ever wondered if God
hears your prayers?
He does!
This verse confirms it.

Prayer is a powerful tool that
we have to communicate with
our Father in heaven.
We can talk to Him about any
and everything that is weighing
heavy on our hearts.

He wants a relationship with us,
He loves it when we come to Him in prayer.
He loves us and enjoys it
when we interact with Him.

So, take what is on your heart today
and speak to the Lord about it
and trust that He hears you.

That's exactly what I'm doing.
What better way to spend your day :)

Well, that's my post for today.
I hope it brings you comfort.

God bless you all
&
remember we are one day closer
to this virus being over :)

Your blogging sister,
Connie

  1. Wonderful to see your name appear in my blog roll. We certainly do need to pray and to bring all our worries to Him with thanksgiving. He is a great comfort in our time of need and Psalm 94:19 is a much loved verse.
When doubts filled my mind, your comfort gave me renewed hope and cheer. Take care and stay safe.

  2. My new memory verse is this: The salvation of the righteous is from the LORD; he is their stronghold in the time of trouble. The LORD helps them and delivers them; he delivers them from the wicked and saves them, because they take refuge in him. - Psalm 37:39-40

    You are loved, dear sister...

  6. Glad you were able to get some things to start a garden. Spring, for me is a time of hope and renewal and a garden shows it so well.
    Praying for you, my friend!

  7. You are very brave to do even such a minor surgery on Butchy. And to think he held nice and still. He's a great little furry friend.
We went to Lowes this morning to buy tomato plants and there was quite a long line-up outside. They were only letting a few people in at a time. But we got our "Early Girl" tomatoes. I had bought some smaller plants but they were all the cherry type and we wanted some slicers as well.
    Take care, dear friend.

  10. I'm glad you were able to get out and can start on your garden. Here they have closed the garden centers in the Home Depots and Walmarts. It seems odd to me that they won't allow people to buy that stuff but what can you do.
Give Butchy a few ear scritches from me and tell him he's a good boy for doing a good job of keeping your company.

  12. I chuckled when I read about your visit to Home Depot. I had seen a post today that said, "I never thought I'd walk into my bank wearing a mask and asking for money". So happy to see you back here. We do need prayer and faith right now, for sure. Stay safe and well my dear.

  13. Hello dear Connie, I was so glad to see your post today. There is much to be grateful in it. You found plants available for purchase to brighten up your garden! We drove by our Home Depot today and thought the lines were a LOT too long to wait. I'll go another day. A sweet, sweet photo of little Butchy. Oh my! He is darling.
You know I agree with you wholeheartedly on prayer. When I think of the sacrifice Jesus made for each one of us and that he and the Father love for us to communicate with them through prayer, it humbles me so much. Who am I in this immense universe, that the One who made it all wants to hear my little insignificant thoughts? But, to Him they aren't insignificant. Connie, I take you to Him in prayer every day. That you will feel His arms wrapping around you and comforting you.
Wishing you a week of comfort and peace as you find your new normal.
    Love and Blessings
    Betsy

  14. I testify that God does hear our prayers, that he knows each and every one of us personally, and loves each and every one of us, and if something is important to us, then it is important to Him.

Glad that you were able to get some things for spring planting! Gardening sure is soul healing, in my humble opinion :)

  16. Dear Connie,
How lovely to see a post, and to read about you getting ready to work in your garden. I pray that God's presence will cover you there and you will see His loving hand in your life. Yes, He does answer prayer.
You're a brave woman to do that surgery on your dog. Good for you!
    Stay well.

  17. Oh Connie that is great you got out and are getting ready to do your gardening, such a perfect thing to do at this time, the more we can take care of ourselves the less we have to deal with the stores. I agree getting out in the sunshine sure does feel good this spring!
Glad your minor surgery went ok with Butchy :)
    Take care my friend!

  18. so glad to see your post the other day! That IS funny to think of wearing a mask to our bank or credit union - of course all ours are closed around here.. but feels funny to wear a mask out in public. Glad you have Butch for a friend - our pets are such good companions to us in our lonely times. So good to see that you were able to get some gardening supplies... I know how much you love your gardens and working in the dirt and being outside - it's so good for our spirits and mental moods.. and also physically - keeps us moving which is so good. I'm so envious that you will be getting all those wonderful raspberries pretty soon! I cut mine way down and don't know if I'll get anything this year - I got too carried away I'm afraid! I may buy a couple of blackberry plants - imagine that? I grew up around the Portland/Vancouver area where blackberries grew EVERYWHERE - just like weeds! And not a one here and I miss them. Gardening brings such pleasure doesn't it? As one lady said, you are so steadfast in your faith - I surely admire that... hugs.. Marilyn

  23. Your Butchy is a cutie. I haven't been in any store since the start of this mess, 6 weeks or so. Yes, God loves and hears our prayers and always answers. Sometimes He says no or not yet, not always the answer we want. He has a plan for us.
