Fresh Picked Flowers & Finished Quilt On The Bed

Fresh Picked Flowers & Finished Quilt On The Bed

I'm having company for dinner tonight

so I went out into the garden

to picked a few bouquets to

place around the house.

Thirty-Five Plus Years In The Making . . .

and this quilt is finally on the bed.

I pieced the quilt top so many

years ago that I don't remember

the year exactly . . . only that

our daughter was young.

By the time I finished it and was

ready to start quilting,

she had out grown the pastel

Sunbonnet Susies.

So, I tucked it away . . .

until last winter when I got it

out and processed to hand-quilt it.

I offered it to her,

but she says, "it's not her style"

well, it's my style . . .

I've never out grown my love

of vintage style quilts.

So, I have a new quilt

to put on my bed and enjoy :)

til next time . . .

Have a glorious day,

don't miss the opportunity

to spread your love

with a smile or a hug.

This day only comes around

once in a lifetime.

Your blogging sister,

Connie :)

  6. Such a sweet quilt. Can one have too many quilts? I don't think so.
Your little bouquets are lovely. I don't know why I didn't sow zinnias this year.

  7. That's such a sweet quilt. Good for you for finishing it after all these years. I have a few old projects like that, too, and I can't bear to discard them. Hopefully I'll get to them one of these days. Such a pretty bouquet of zinnias - they are cheerful flowers, I think.

  21. I so like the backgrounds for each block. They make me want to do another SS. And each of your Sues is special, too. A really nice quilt. As always, your flowers are gorgeous, so summery --in a nice sort of way. (I added that caveat because our summer is not so nice right now-- it is frying everything.) Blessings on ya, dear.
