Save The School

Hartline School, Hartline, WA

A week ago I had the great pleasure

of touring this beautiful old schoolhouse.

They have filled it with donations and

are using the rooms for a thrift store.

The items sold are going toward saving the building.

I do hope they have great success.

It's a wonderful building.

Come tour the halls with me.

They are filled with history.

Sport Pennants from Days Gone By.

Look at the artwork on this

old safe.

Great room for school plays,

recitals and graduation.

You can see why I wish them

success in preserving this

magnificent piece of history.

Before I close . . .

I want to show you some

flowers picked from the

garden.

It won't be long before

frost and waiting for

spring tulips to bloom

before having flowers

inside again :)

 Wishing you all a very

sweet day.

May God bless you

and keep you safe.

Your blogging sister,

Connie :)

    1. Oh, I hope they do too, I know it means a great deal to the people that live in that area.
Thank you for your comment on my flowers, I do enjoy bringing bouquets into the house.

  2. There's an old school near us that someone bought, restored and turned into a nursing home. It's absolutely gorgeous. They kept all of the original woodwork and doors. In the main office there is a blackboard that all the seniors signed on their last day before the school closed for good. They sealed the board so that those names will be there forever. I hope they are able to save your old school.

    1. We've had a couple nights in high forties but mostly in the fifties. I like the cool nights but would like to stay in warm weather much longer. A girl can always hope.

  5. Hi, Connie!
Say, that building brings back lots of memories. I went to a school that looked a lot the one in your post, except mine was cement rather than brick. What a good idea to have the sale in the building they want to restore.
Once again, you made me drool over all your pretty garden flowers. I spent my morning trimming and pruning shrubs. Had to be careful with the camellias because they are budded out already. Winter is coming! I am sure I could speak for my fellow northern Californians when I say, "Bring it on!"
So good to read your post, Connie. Blessings!

    1. I can see why you're looking forward to Winter. I'm so sorry for all your fires. It's been really bad here too, in our area no danger of fires but we've had a lot of smoke. The last two days have been clear and sunny and it feels so good. Wishing you rain and clear non-smokey skies.

    1. They don't build them like this, even more reason for them to be restored and used.

  11. Hi my sweet friend. Connie, I loved all your bouquets. I have enjoyed my daughter's sunflowers so much. She has brought me some and even sent pictures. I hope your school can be saved too. Maybe it could be a civic center of sorts. My old grade school, even my daughters went there, is now a church and I really love that. Blessings to you, stay safe. Love the picture of you and your Steve near the flowers. :) xoox, love you, Susie

  14. I always feel sad when another old building is torn down, usually replaced with something rather unattractive.
I hope that school can be saved.

  17. I hope they can save the school, my nephews church bought the old school building in his town for their church, it worked out great for them, the old gym is now the sanctuary. Glad you are still able to enjoy your flowers, we have a few tiger lillies that are hanging on, everything else has gone.
Wishing you a lovely Autumn to come!

  18. Oh that brick building brings back alot of memories for me! I went to grade school in one in Portland, OR way back in 1952, 53 and 54... I wonder if it is still there! My youngest son also went to grade school in a building that could be the one you showed's twin! It is in Washougal, WA and I think it is still there.. those stairs and the hallways, photos of pass teachers, etc.... what memories! I surely hope they can save this building and keep it in use. I have a few flowers still blooming but not many, and I don't bring any into the house. I do have some gorgeous peach roses, but I always hate to cut them off the bush! We're having some cold nights too, like you.. and finally had a big rain storm on Friday that lasted about 20 minutes and cleared out all the smoke! So glad for that. I see that your Steve is also enjoying your lovely flowers too... I hope they keep blooming for a few more weeks! Hugs and blessings to you......Marilyn

Beautiful flowers. Makes me sad that they won't be around much longer. I just noticed your comment to Mari above and see you're like me where you don't like late fall and winter. I agree that they're depressing months. I know this year will be extra hard for you, too.
