Oh, How My Posts Are Slowing Down

Hello Dear Friends!

I never seem to post anymore

so thank you for staying with me

and for all of your encouraging

comments and lovely cards.

I appreciate your kindness and love.

I've finished three cuddle size quilts.

The Front of the first one.

And the Back.

  The Label

The 2nd Quilt.

 The Back.

The Label.

The 3rd Quilt.

 The Back.

 The Label.

My latest great-grandchild.

I leave you with this . . .

I apologize for my poor

photography.  I think it could be

due to the fact that I need

cataract surgery.

It's coming up soon,

please put me in your prayers.

I know it is a common surgery,

but it's still my "eyes".

 ~~~~~***~~~~~
God bless you all,
and thank you for visiting
my humble blog.
Your blogging sister,
Connie :)
  1. Connie, those quilts are so beautiful! They will be treasured by your little greats. I wish I were half the quilter you are. You have been missed, but there are times that we feel like blogging and other times that we don't. We are always here when you feel like sharing with us and you are ALWAYS in my prayers. I will add your eye surgery to my prayers for you my dear friend. Please let me know if there is any other way I can be here for you.
    Blessings and love,
    Betsy
  2. Enjoyed your post, Connie. Love the quilts! I just finished packing one up to mail to my new to-be great grand nephew (?) (niece's son's first baby). As for your cataract surgery, it will be fine. But I understand... thought the same when mine was done... it is still our "eyes". Will add you to my prayer list.
  3. Such beautiful quilts, Connie and I love the homemade labels that make them so special. I have a soft spot for the blue and green quilt as I just love that combination. What a beautiful great grand-baby! Just gorgeous.
    I dont think it matters how often we post, it should never feel a chore, just write when we have something to say, which in my case isnt often! Take care Connie. x
    1. Hi Mari, thank you so much. I know that it is a very common surgery, but surgery, is still surgery and our eyes are such marvelous body parts. Amazing in fact, so it's a bit scary when you give them over to someone and hope and pray that they are on their top game that day.
  13. You've been busy creating lovely quilts for your great grandbabies. I didn't realize that you were a GGrandmother. I'm sure Beulah is keeping you busy and Butchy, well, his little nose is still a bit out of joint because of the interloper! Blessings and a ((hug))
    1. His nose is out of joint, but they are becoming friends. He has been our one and only dog for 11 years and although he is the little guy, he doesn't have any problem in letting Beulah know who the top dog is, LOL
  14. Worry not about the eye surgery, it will go well. I had it done 5 years ago. Now I can see far, but not close so I wear readers. Before the surgery I could see well close but not far and had to wear glasses. I like it this way, not having to wear glasses for far. Love your quilts, so pretty.
    1. Actually he is my first great-grandson but he has two beautiful sisters older than him. The other two quilts were for them. I didn't want to only send one quilt when I could use this time to make one for each of them. Their Mama was a surprise granddaughter that found me through the internet. Until 4 years ago we didn't know anything about each other. I'm so happy that she researched and found me. Therefore I never made baby quilts for the girls, so this was perfect timing. Now they all have a Great-grandma quilt. Their Grandma also quilts and she makes amazing quilts. I have meet her too, and she is a lovely lady.
  16. My husband JUST finished up his second cataract surgery. He dreaded it, put it off for years, could not drive safely...and now he is so happy he had it done! The apprehension was what got to him. After the first eye, he wasn't worried at all. I hope your doc gives you a checklist like his did. There are a lot of drops needed for a few days, and we were grateful to have little checkboxes to check off as each type of drop was given. By the way, after 80 years of glasses, he now doesn't need them!
    1. I think that is wonderful. I will need a checklist, so if they don't make a list, I will have too. My memory is not what it used to be and taking care of myself has always been at the lower end of my list. I guess it's time for that to chance, if I don't do it, it won't be done.
  18. Hi Connie- You've made a beautiful job of the Quilts. On Eye Surgery- my Partner Chris had cataracts removed -in both eyes (two Opertations separated by a week)...all very good now and Chris only needs her Glasses when reading. Well worth getting done. Stay well there Connie - thinking of you. Cheers. KEV. (Sydney- AUSTRALIA)...p.s. I've joined a STAR TREK Fan Club.
    1. Hi Kev, Thank you for your encouraging words on the surgery. I'm happy you found a fan club; I'm sure that helps pass some of these quarantine and gives you some new friends to share your common interests. I used to watch those TV shows with my Steve. He and his sister were both fans. The movies are good, too . . . but you already know that, LOL. If you're a big fan you can probably quote making lines from the show. I can't do the valcan hand sign on the keyboard, but "Live Long And Prosper".
  20. Your quilts are so pretty, Connie! And your great-grandson is adorable. I know a lot of people who've had cataract surgery (including my mother) and they've done great, so I know all will go well for you, too. But like you said, it's still scary when it's yourself having it done! I will keep you in my prayers for a successful surgery and for your peace of mind. {{hugs}}
    1. Thank you so much. I'm waiting for Beulah to have all of her shots, so that I can board her while I have the surgery. I have to go out of town and stay over night so that they can check my eyes the next morning after the surgery. Thank you for your prayers. It's just hard doing things alone, I haven't had to in 44 years.
  21. Hi Connie... I can see you've been super busy! The cuddly quilts are so pretty, each one.. and the backs as well! How simply WONDERFUL that your granddaughter found you!!!! Wow.... what a blessing for sure for sure. That is a miracle and such a wonderful addition to your life and family. You definitely have your quilting mojo back! Me.. not so much. And my blogging mojo has gone by the wayside too, for awhile anyway. Just not much to write about, so I don't. I suppose I will when there is something interesting! I wonder if you will be getting this snowstorm that has started here.. is snowing pretty good out and about an inch of snow, and more coming for the next 2 days. Should be interesting. A good excuse to stay in and do nothing (or craft, etc.).... though my crafting mojo has also left me somewhere in the dust (or snow?). Anyway.. have a good weekend coming up..... hugs to you... Marilyn
    1. I hope we don't get snow, I have two appointments tomorrow (wouldn't you know). I hardly go anywhere and if I do it's something that I can do or not do, so I don't have to drive in bad weather. Now it's so cold and I have appointments to make. Murphy's Law, LOL.
      Stay in and stay warm :)
    Awww, Congrats on your great grandson, I think he is really enjoying his new quilt :)
    I know it is nerve racking to get the surgery but I have had both my eyes done and I know both times I was a bit unnerved having surgery on my eyes, but you will be happy when it is done and you can see so much better again! Prayers for peace!
