Tweaking the camper, come on in!
LED light over the bed.
Electric Fan
Portable DVD Player
(Steve won this at a company
Christmas party one year and
we never really used it)
All powered by this baby.
(it can be charged at home, in the
truck while driving, or
by a solar panel)
Then a dear friend gifted me
with a Walmart gift card,
and I bought this with it.
I built this over the wheel well.
You can't see it very well,
but I added a slot above it . . .
Where I can slide this shelf in when needed.
The box is great for the lantern, paper plates,
cups and bowls and a roll of paper towels.
I can also turn it the other way,
and create a table that comes
nearly to the bed, good for
eating or playing cards.
The porta-potty is tucked under
this little desk
and inside is . . .
Toiletries and first aid.
I'll fill the cupboard with
dry goods just before a trip,
and the little drawer is a great place . . .
for eating utensils.
Hanging on the outside by the
tailgate are my cooking utensils.
Beside the bed is the tackle box
with a tissue box handy on top
and under the bed are two bids,
dish pads, fishing poles
and my wiener fork.
There are two stacked runner rugs inside
for comfortable sleeping for the dogs
and easy shake out cleaning.
Come on, let's go camping!
Thanks for visiting . . .
and please leave a comment.
Your blogging sister,
Connie:)
You've done such a wonderful job fixing up your camper truck! It looks so cozy and comfortable and you have everything you need. I can't wait to follow your adventures!
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to have one, I don't want to go camping alone so I'm waiting for an invite. Going soon with my sister-in-law and her hubby :)
DeleteI love this, Connie. It's so cute and comfortable. I too want to follow any adventures you have in this camper...
ReplyDeleteWell, I'm more than looking forward to having a few :) Thank you!
DeleteThis is absolutely amazing. Your transformation is fabulous. And what a cozy little spot for when you go camping. So when is the first camping trip?
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure, but soon :)
DeleteYou've made your little home away from home even more perfect than before. I'm looking forward to your inaugural trip. (Don't forget the salt when you go. We did that once.)
ReplyDeleteJust this afternoon I packed some spices (including salt) in that little turquoise cabinet. I'm getting antsy to go camping :)
DeleteI am so impressed. You did an incredible job with your camper. It looks lovely, homey and so comfortable. You've thought of everything.
ReplyDeleteWell, I've been looking at pickup shells on Pinterest to see how people are fixing them up, but none of them were designed with a girly woman in mind. I wanted to be comfortable and have a bit of charm at the same time, LOL.
DeleteWonderful how you have come up with all these creative ideas to make it comfortable and meet your needs. Hope you can try it out soon. You should take your guitar to sing around the campfire. Nancy.
ReplyDeleteI haven't played much in the last few years, but just last week I got it down and dusted it off and started practicing. These old arthritic fingers need more practice before I play again in public, LOL
DeleteYour camper truck is just wonderful! I love the decorating, the colors, the patterns. So adorable! You really seem to have covered all the bases with all you could need and it's pretty, too!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I didn't want a camper that I had to winterize and have to do all the hooking up to power and water and sewer . . . I wanted something easy and I think this will fit the bill.
DeleteIt’s so beautiful!!! You did an amazing job!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much and thanks for stopping by.
DeleteConnie! I am so impressed. First - it looks like you, so cozy and charming.
ReplyDeleteYou did such a good job of using every bit of your space.
Happy Camping!
I just thought about how I don't do anything anymore and I needed to get out and enjoy some of things that we enjoyed doing together. Breathe a little fresh lake air or take a hike through the woods. Especially before flue season, icy roads and winter and we're all cooped up again.
DeleteYou have worked your creative magic once again!
ReplyDeleteIt has been a very fun project.
DeleteWell done, Connie. It looks like you have all the essentials and have made your sweet camper very comfortable. Enjoy every minute you're in it! Hugs.
ReplyDeleteThank you Nancy, I just have a need to get out and away . . . spend a couple nights now and then on a lake or in the forest.
DeleteThis is very nice. I love it!
ReplyDeleteThank you very much :)
DeleteI think you have thought of everything, so well planned! I wish I could come with you on your adventure!
ReplyDeleteDont forget to take a phone and charger with you.
I certainly will, safety is always a big issue :)
DeleteAbsolutely fantastic Connie - you have certainly made a very comfortable camper for sure- I use to drive a Ford F100 forty years ago and I never imagined it could be decked out like you have done. Best Wishes. KEV.
ReplyDeleteI'm hoping that it provides me with many restful short trips. Time to get out with friends and family and enjoy nature. Of course with my property I have plenty of gardening to do and that is enjoying nature, but not the same . . . gardens require work, the forest does not :)
DeleteYour little camper is so YOU!! Very sweet and comfortable. Enjoy your trips, I am sure your doggies will be good travel partners.
ReplyDeleteI think they will be, Beulah has not been camp yet, but I think she'll do great. Butchy is always good as long as his with me :)
DeleteThose jackery battery packs are fantastic aren't they? Oh, how I wish we were still in Spokane and could go on some camping adventures together. I adore how you've fixed up your truck to be the perfect glamping spot for you. Just last night Dennis laid down in the back of our truck and said it would be plenty big for us to camp in. He's right! We would have to do some things different because we would need a double bed, but I've seen that on utube. You have definitely tweaked our interest in possibly doing something like this. I sure hope you find some interested campers Connie. Your space is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteBLessings,
Betsy
I'm excited because all the winterizing and hooking up that you have to do with a trailer just overwhelms me. With this it's just go and come home, no pulling, backing up a trailer, caring for pipes and gas-lines. I needed something simple and stress free. It will be tight and I will have to shower at campground showers, but to me that's a small price for the limitation of stress.
DeleteOh my Goodness! You should be so proud of yourself! Your camper is so amazing. You have thought of everything and made it so beautiful. It should be featured in some magazine. Great job!!!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness, aren't you sweet! Thank you :)
DeleteWow ok I'm ready to go! This looks fantastic! Just like home. Love that little cupboard though! Tell us about that charging device. Love to know about that. Enjoy! Lisa @ Sweet Tea N' Salty Air
ReplyDeleteI purchased it on Amazon and you can read about it there. I have the ability to charge it at home before leaving so that I have a full charge when leaving home. Then I can charge it from the truck dash while traveling or by a solar panel if I'm camped. It's a pretty nice system. I plan on having it charge it up in the house this winter so if the power goes off for a while I'll still be able to stay warm. I could just cuddle up in my chair with an electric blanket until the power is back on.
DeleteWow, a real handy gadget! Thanks for the info I'm def going to get this we lose power alot during hurricane season
DeleteI like it! Where are you going? One suggestion, glow in the dark stars. 😊
ReplyDeleteThat would be sweet:)
DeleteOh my, you have done a wonderful job your camper looks wonderful. I can just see you and the dogs having happy trips away.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I think we'll be very comfortable in it. Mostly it's just for sleeping because when I'm camping I like to be outdoors, but if it rains it'll be nice and cozy inside with some of the comforts of home.
DeleteOh wow Connie, it looks like you have it all covered and are ready to get out there, your setup looks great, and I am sure the dogs would enjoy it too! You are so creative and handy with making things!! Hope you can get out there soon and enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteThanks, I hope so too :)
DeleteYour camper is so pretty. I think you are very wise making things as simple as possible so you can really enjoy your time away in nature. Stay safe on your journeys :)
ReplyDeleteSafety's a priority, I do not plan on camping alone but only with family and friends. It'll just be nice to tag along and have my own space.
DeleteWhat a cozy and practical place you've created for your camping and fishing trips. I think you've thought of everything! Now to enjoy it!
ReplyDeleteI've been watching YouTube and looking on Pinterest and getting lots of ideas. The only thing I noticed on them was that they were all practical but not pretty. Hey, a girl needs a little pretty even when she's camping, LOL
DeleteI am so excited about your camping set up. I'm studying it like there will be a test at the end! I would love to do something like this but the back seat of my Jeep doesn't lay real flat. I keep going and looking at it though! Love the generator and how you've used every cubby and spot for the things you'll need. How smart to put down 2 rugs too. I love it! I'm ready to GO!!! And yes....you've made sure it is pretty too!
ReplyDeleteI'm so glad you like it. I just wanted something simple and I'm too old for tent camping and besides that I don't feel like a tent is as safe as this. I think it'll give me several years of enjoyment as long as I am able to get up in the back of it. I've been blessed with very good health all my life hopefully that lasts a long time.
DeleteConnie, you never stop amazing me ! Not only is your camper totally practical, it's fantastically adorable !
ReplyDeleteYou,GO, girl.......I mean it, literally ! Go have some fun by the riverside !
That's my intention, I hope it works out for me :)
DeleteNow that's my kind of camping! I'd camp in that cute and comfortable set up any day. (I don't do tents!)
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't do a tent either. I want to at least be able to lock the door when I go to bed at night.
DeleteI really love this Connie! You've done what I wanted to do years ago. I love that little battery pack too! :)
ReplyDeleteI think the battery pack will be great. If the weather is hot I can have a fan going at night, or if it starts to rain I can curl up inside with a light on and a good book to read, or even play on the computer or watch a DVD until the rain stops.
DeleteOh Connie dear friend! I missed this post! It went into my spam folder and I just today looking at my spam folder.. usually not much goes into there! I LOVE LOVE LOVE your glamping camper! It is so so cozy and I love the shelf and table over the potty.. and that board that swings out. You have thought of using every bit of space! How did you get your curtains up? I see little knobs with rope over them? Our Van has all headliner so I can't see where the metal is to put hooks, which I really want to do. The Van has blinds on the smaller windows, but the double doors on the side don't, and it's hard to try to string a rope across there to hang curtains on! I did it though, but hubby didn't like it.. but worked and gave us privacy. On the back two doors, I put velcro around the windows and then made the curtain a square with velcro on it, so can just hook it on.. but I think after 2 years of it sitting and with all the heat that velcro has probably melted off! I'll write more via email! Since you wrote this on August 16th, I wonder if you've been able to get out in the woods yet!! xoxo Marilyn
ReplyDeleteI cannot believe how adorable that is! Am I seeing it correctly that it is a camper shell over a pickup bed?
ReplyDeleteYes it is, and thank you :)
DeleteWow, Connie, it looks so cozy and inviting. So many homey and practical touches! I mean even the potty is cute! Go you!
ReplyDeleteI love the colors...very much like my Maizy! Your ideas are so clever, cheery and practical, too...great adventures are ahead! Mary
