Quilting Away :)

I'm still quilting away on this

quilt that I started somewhere

around 2 years ago.

I'm very happy to say that

the center is all finished.

Each little stitch by hand.

I love the vibrate colors
and amazing flora fabrics.

In fact I started making
this quilt with the
bedroom redo that I did
this winter still in my mind.
So, when it is done. . .
that is it's destination.

It will be joining these.

Here it is laid out over
the sofa.
I've just started quilting
the boarder.

I've decided to quilt the

boarder with brightly

colored embroidery threads.

This picnic basket

is a "Goodwill" make-over

that I did many years ago . . .

 it holds all

of my embroidery supplies.

I sure hope this is not

going to be another

year out ... I don't think

it will be, but my old

arthritic fingers

might disagree :)

πŸŒ²πŸŽ„πŸŽ„πŸŒ²

I do hope that your

Christmas

was blessed

&

that the new year

will bring you

joy beyond measure.

Your blogging sister,
Connie :)
 P.S. I apologize for all
the font mess ups, for some reason
blogger didn't want to do
what I was asking of it πŸ˜•

    1. I'm so happy to see that you've stopped in to visit and do hope that your Christmas was wonderful and filled with "JOY". Yes it is bold, a little bit out of my norm . . . but a delight to work with such brilliant colors :)

  3. That quilt is gorgeous. You must have the patience of a saint to do all that quilting by hand.

    1. I quilt most of my quilts on the machine (not a long arm, just a regular sewing machine) but I always like to have one that I'm quilting by hand. It's very relaxing to me.

    1. I do believe that having a hand project helps with the arthritis. Even if it does cause pain it keeps me working those joints and not letting them tighten up and get worse. The pains of old age aren't much fun are they?

  11. Connie, that quilt is gorgeous. Perfect project for these dark, winter days.
I took a hiatus on my quilting for the past week or so. Seems like a long time. Anxious to get back to it.
Looking forward to the new year. Hoping you have a blessed and happy new year.

    1. Hi Lindah, don't let your quilting go unattended too long, if you're like me, out of sight out of mind and then it seems months go by. Quilting grounds me, it makes me feel a connection to the past and simpler times.

  13. You're right! Blogger DOES NOT always cooperate anymore! It changes things up on its own sometimes, and my blog post may look totally different than I wanted it to be! Also, the fonts never seem to be the same ones I choose. But of course, I haven't done a post for so long, it will totally forget me! Anyway.... your quilt is absolutely gorgeous! I love all the florals and the brights, and like you said, will be a bright spot in these gray days. You are SO ambitious and always at work/play! I so envy you. I keep tellilng myself, once I get moved, and start a new era of my life, I WILL do more sewing and quilting! I still have at least 2 quilts I need to finish, one that was started 20 years ago! and the other just last summer.. and I do want to make a "quick quilt" I found on youtube, where the blocks are 10 minute blocks and large. Hugs to you! Marilyn

    1. Hi Marilyn, oh you have been on my mind so much lately. I've been praying for everything to go smoothly with your house sale and the purchasing of your new home. I know you will be so relieved when you are finally settled into your new nest. It will be fun starting with all new empty cupboards and shelves and being able to decide exactly where to put all your crafting supplies and fitting the rooms just to your taste. A fresh start/blank canvas, you know what I mean. Anytime you feel overwhelm and need a friend, you know my number.
